I've always felt 2028, due to that lost covid year with stock issues and releases. And that was before they brought out the Pro last year. I think Q4 2028 fits better.

@Megabeenz Agree totally. His critique didn't sound balanced at all.

Especially when they all chipped in with comparisons to GeforceNow, and then had a final bash dismissing the entire device near the end!

DF are dumping HARD on the input lag in their DF Direct from today.

Leadbetter is claiming the lag made it 'literally unplayable' for him which from what I've read elsewhere sounds baity to me, but there you go.

It's about as verifiable as anything anyone says on the internet anytime.

THE REALITY: November next year - backlog even bigger than today.

@graymamba Same here, and we get a game with six months more work done to it.

It's the best way to look at it, rather than the negative comments that 90% will be posting on this and other articles over the next day or two!

If they're working for a company like Rockstar, and signed NDA's, how dumb were they to even mention the game outside of work?

And as others here said, it doesn't really matter whose side people take on this - we'll all still buy the game. Even those who post here they won't!

Wish I'd played Psychonauts 2 years ago because i gave it a go last week and it just looked bad and mechanically it played bad. Time hasn't been kind to it.

@themightyant For me, the vast majority of games are clearly better on it, some look far better, and some are worse.

And as with any situation like this, some individuals just love to amplify any negative in sight. I've never understood that mentality, it can't be fun to live in a glass half empty world but there you go!

Are the random battles as overly intrusive as on III? That was my only gripe with that otherwise excellent game.

Used to use headphones for gaming until I got my Dolby Atmos setup in the lounge....still wows me every day, will never go back.

@1970sGamer Thanks, I'll probably do P3R first. Unlike yourself I really enjoyed P5R but tapped out after about 70 hours of it.

Life is far too short and enjoyable to get as angry as some people do about the Pro.

I enjoy using mine, am fortunate enough to be able to buy nice things and wanted the best console to go with my A95L OLED.

Most games run better on it, some look absolutely amazing on it. And some don't. Shrug. No point venting spleen about it.

@Czar_Khastik I buy digitally just so I can make someone waste their time posting a comment telling me that physical is better because I could have got it cheaper and be able to resell it or trade it in. 😀

@Sergo Charging doesn't work like that, modern usb-c is an interoperable universal standard.

You can plug any device into any charger and the device will take the charge it needs, either the maximum the charger supplies or the maximum the device charges at if it's a higher capacity.

It makes zero difference using an official charger to plugging into any high speed phone, laptop etc charger that you probably have right next to where you sit.

This is how Sony sell the official chargers, making people believe they're somehow better than anything else.

Since it's 'free' on PS+ at the moment, I'll give it a go.

@themightyant The worst is when you buy a game in a sale, it goes into the backlog and then it's given away on PS+ Essential before you've even played it

@Dalamar You're right, going by your impeccable logic we might as well have just stuck with the original PS1 forever.

Sounds like 2028 then. FSR4 on the Pro next year, next console couple of years later. That'll be 8 years, but considering the first year was spent in covid-related supply issues and delays, it sounds reasonable.

And I echo other comments that we just don't need a new generation before then - Xbox is finished, and Nintendo are peddling a console that struggles to get to PS4 Pro levels on a good day.

As someone who was there in 1994 with a Japanese import PlayStation (complete with the tiny Japanese controllers!) this was too nostalgic to not purchase straight away, £95 or not!

Had mine the previous year!

Imported one from Japan December 1994 with Tekken and Ridge Racer. S-video into the TV and glorious 60fps with no PAL borders and slowdowns.
