That's interesting. I think releasing like this with the price cuts are a smart way to get that second wind. If it does well on PS it helps boost interest on other platforms as well.

I know they consensus is quite mixed to negative now but who knows maybe it gets a better reception at the new price.

I think it would have struggled at £70.

This is a good price point to try tempt people, but if it was me I’d wait a couple of months and get it cheaper. £30 is reasonable for it imo.

I swear that the Starfield coming to PS5 rumours are more interesting than anything that's actually in Starfield the game.

I enjoyed my time with it , its not as bad as everyone makes out , the first 20 hrs are great , then you realise its very shallow , there's a few broken quests , hopefully thats been fixed , if they priced it at 39.99 I could see it doing well, its like elite and no mans sky but without the depth and better quests.

Negative to positive would be more appropriate. It seems to substantially divide opinion.

I get that having a lower price will obviously be more enticing to new people, but it's not a great look for players on their own platform. But I'm still happy for those looking forward to it. But I feel like this is a game that would've benefited from not being exclusive. There was so much hype and intrigue (pre-release) that they would've gotten more sales based solely on that alone. Now that people know exactly what it is, I hope some interest is still there.

I 💩you not, I was going to buy a Xbox series X for this game and Starfield on day one, luckily sanity prevailed and I waited for reviews. Dodged a bullet there 😀
When it's less than £15 or on PS+ is when I'll play it.

@CallMeDuraSouka it did keeped crashing on me i don't think the games that good its average at best played worse though

Makes sense they just did this with Avowed when they had the big title update.

I never played this and will do so eventually to form an honest opinion for the love of Bethesda but people I trust hate it. It sucks to see a once great studio struggle to modernize but the future looks bleak…

What’s the point of a full 2.0 patch if it doesn’t ‘fundamentally change’ what is a fairly lacklustre title? There are plenty of things Bethesda could have ironed out, like its terrible inventory system or the grind of obtaining materials for base building or some of the more boring fetch quests. Dunno, maybe it’s improved since my underwhelming Xbox playthrough.

I started it on xbox and played about 30 hours before I got rid of the xbox - I enjoyed it, I think I'll take the punt and get it on PS5

I'd still like to try this game out, despite all the negativity around it. But I can't see myself spending more than 20 or 30 bux to do so, so I'll ne waiting another year, I'd guess.

I was definitely caught up in the pre-release hype for it, though. But I don't have a PC that would have run it and I don't have an Xbox. I guess I'm saying I'm used to waiting.

I originally didn’t want to play because this was the darling of Xbots, but now I want to play it because it’s panned! Wonder if I’ll enjoy it more than MindsEye?

@Skippermonkey Bethesda isn't calling it 2.0. People who want to gin up the audience are calling it that because it will create a false promise that won't be lived up to and be the kindling for yet another hate campaign against the game.

The game was basically as wide as the ocean but deep as a puddle for me.

They will have a hard time with ES6 after the reception of this. Wonder how PS gamers will react.

@somnambulance Believe it or not this is the other opinion I’ve had from some friends, you have to play it and decide what it is for you. If this is true and it hits PS5 I’ll probably take a swing after Crimson Desert (if that isn’t just as divisive)

I enjoyed the game a lot on Xbox and will grab this for my PS5 Pro (hoping there is a 60fps quality mode)

@wildcat_kickz ah, fair enough. FWIW I don’t hate Starfield, but I certainly found it disappointing. Big missed opportunity.

@GamingGod Well there's no accounting for subjective opinion, but this is the game that made me realise I really didn't need a Series X, so I boxed it up and sold it. Incidentally I sold it to a buddy who wanted to play Starfield, and he was bitterly disappointed by it.

I was being hyperbolic in my comment above, but a lot of people do dislike it immensely. And for the majority of people that stuck with it, the conversation is usually about it "not being too bad", rather than "this is amazing".

I guess the only way to know for sure is try it out yourself at some point, but if I had a friend ask me to recommend this or not, if tell them "not".

@dodgykebaab Because their main catchment audience uses the euro. And not the dollar or yen.
