Seems likely my current A95L - which is utterly incredible, and leagues ahead of the rest including LG - will be the last of a long line of Sony TV's I've owned.

How many people are queuing up to make graphics and performance of their expensive games on their expensive console on an expensive TV objectively worse in return for a few pence?

@Fiendish-Beaver Yep, Rollerball with him starring was great and as already mentioned a graphically violent film for the time. Also Misery, where his performance alongside Kathy Bates was top tier. And he was a funny OTT villain in the underrated Arnie flick Eraser too!

The funny part is that a lot of the bile elsewhere is spewed by the very same commenters who spent months praising the review of the game and gushing about it in the articles afterwards.

@JustMyOpinion Happens pretty much everywhere, on one side or the other.

Go to Eurogamer, and they'll delete comments that dare to suggest AI has some benefits, and probably shadowban you. Go to Resetera and they'll BAN your whole account and IP for making a single comment against their agenda.

Pushsquare isn't perfect, but damn sight better than places like those.

@Contimaloris You can do both though - work reasonable hours AND retire early. I was lucky enough to retire two years ago on my 53rd birthday - property, no debt, money in the bank, investments etc and I sure as heck didn't work more than maybe 45 hours on a busy week and that was the exception.

Although worth noting that even retirement with a quiet life hasn't enabled me to reduce the backlog!

Nothing will satisfy the tiny group for whom this is the latest issue to exercise performative outrage on. And it IS a tiny group, it certainly isn't 'most people'.

@Joel_Lives Probably true, and in that case, I hope all these principled AI deniers never buy any new games coming out in the future, however much they might enjoy them. Because I'm sure they're not hypocrites; they sound so righteously angry, after all.

@Max_the_German The good news is that nearly all gamers simply don't care about this anyway - we just enjoy the game and leave the vein popping to those who like to rage, as you say.

It's a funny hobby where you spend most of your time getting angrier and angrier every day about it, as the anti-AI luddites are doing recently with gaming.

I dislike some sports - I sure as heck don't buy season tickets for it and then go online every day and moan about how bad it is.

I hope Pushsquare post AI articles every single day, that I may feed on the rage tears of the moaners and grow in power.

@ErrantRob When you start playing Sektori yeah it feels crazy, but it's not actually as bullet-hell as it looks, you get more space and options than is first apparent, and your power usually increases just enough to keep on top of everything (apart from sometimes at the first boss)

It's only £11.99 but I'd say it depends as much on 'is this my type of game?' I grew up playing the likes of Defender and Asteroids so I've always enjoyed old school 2d shooters like Nex Machina, Stardust, Resogun and it was an easy buy. On the other hand, I find souls games simply too hard and not enjoyable so would never buy them however highly they review, so YMMV.

No Sektori? I know it wouldn't have got anywhere but would have been my 4 points. (KCD2 5, E33 3 and filler for the two and one)

Still putting the hours into Sektori and made it to the final boss on one run before succumbing on what I think was its final regen. Super enjoyable but need a break and something totally different after getting that close and failing!

Even if I end up never going back to it, I've had a literal blast with it.

So my whole yearly wrap-up is just one sentence:

"500 Internal Server Error."

@Jrs1 I grab one speed up, then wait for missile upgrades, which are great as they spread wider and home in. Don't get too distracted by trying to complete MIRAGE too early as you'll just likely lose shields trying to time the letters.

I'm far from great and die on first world myself maybe half the time at moment. It bizarrely gets a little easier if you can make it over that bump, which is why I feel it needs a slight balancing to give you longer before that boss. But I'm 55 next week and not quite the gamer I was in these kinds of genres and I'm sure there are people breezing through the whole lot no problem.

Main thing is its still enjoyable however far you get imo. 🙂

Everything else has been dropped since I started playing the incredible Sektori earlier in the week.

It looks like bullet hell (and the first boss CAN be if your upgrades haven't gone that well prior) but it really isn't. It's controllable chaos and deeply enjoyable gameplay, matched with pulsing music and a vivid visual overload that really pops on a good OLED (lucky enough to be playing on a Sony A95L here)

At £11.99, do yourself a favour and grab it. It's effectively Housemarque as they used to be. It's rare I post on this 'now playing', but feel this is something special.

It just doesn't seem to matter what the story is on this site, whether it's good news or bad news - there are certain people in the comments who are never happy. I swear said people, if they won the lottery, it would be a moan about having to split it with other people or how the jackpot isn't as big as it used to be.

If they're determined to be negative about anything on a gaming website, then that doesn't bode well for their lives. Get help, moaners . Life is too short!

Brilliant game. Got to the fourth world once but usually game over much sooner. Hard but fair, and addictive

Few more months and the trendy whine of hating on AI will be yesterday's news. As others have mentioned on here, most people simply don't care about it.

It's just a trendy fad to hate on AI at the moment, it'll fade the same way they all do. The same people moved their hate from crypto to AI and they'll move onto something else new to fuel their rage sooner or later.

I'm early retired so I know I'm fortunate in terms of time and cash etc but been very happy with my Pro and the games for it.

Not too bad deals, especially if you add the 15% discount on top of these for the discounted PSN credit that you should be buying for your wallet!

I've always felt 2028, due to that lost covid year with stock issues and releases. And that was before they brought out the Pro last year. I think Q4 2028 fits better.

And as others here said, it doesn't really matter whose side people take on this - we'll all still buy the game. Even those who post here they won't!

Wish I'd played Psychonauts 2 years ago because i gave it a go last week and it just looked bad and mechanically it played bad. Time hasn't been kind to it.

@themightyant For me, the vast majority of games are clearly better on it, some look far better, and some are worse.

And as with any situation like this, some individuals just love to amplify any negative in sight. I've never understood that mentality, it can't be fun to live in a glass half empty world but there you go!
