Re: Physical Game Sales Hit All-Time Low in the US

themaladroit

If physical media was cheaper in Brazil, I'd always get them, i prefer physical over digital and sometimes it does get cheaper than digital (I've bought Ghost of Yotei on sale thanks to Black Friday last year and the game never went on sale on PSN)

Re: Rumour: Fallout Project, Possibly Remasters, Teased by Surprise Developer

themaladroit

@AtlasLivesAgain i still gotta try THPS 3+4. Well, at least it looks like this game is a good remaster, so kudos to them. I know about all these things because i do a lot of research before i buy anything, but some of these information isn't very easy to find, so that's why you probably didn't know about it. Also, i gotta go back to FF12 ZA, this game is really good

Re: Rumour: Fallout Project, Possibly Remasters, Teased by Surprise Developer

Virtuos is the last company that i would want to be working on a Fallout remaster, not that Iron Galaxy has a perfect track record, because they definitely don't. To be fair, Bethesda developed Fallout 3 with duct tape and spit, so i think remastering this game will be a nightmare to anyone who has the "luck" to work on it

(same goes for New Vegas and Obsidian)

Re: Crimson Desert Tech Analysis Raises More Questions About PS5 Performance

themaladroit

I don't think PS5 Pro will be that much different from base PS5 in terms of performance, especially if the game is CPU bound. I'm waiting to see if the game itself is even decent, though, but since i have so many other interesting games on my radar right now, this one will go to the bottom

Having said all that, the fact that we still don't have a lot of footage of the game running on consoles raises the red flag for me

Re: Rumour: Sony Backtracking on PC Strategy, Shifting Towards PS5 Exclusivity Again

themaladroit

@ButterySmooth30FPS PS5 is selling very well if you consider the fact that it launched at the worst time possible and the price of this console barely goes down. It's still behind PS4, though not by much. Games like Ghost of Yotei surpassing Tsushima in sales while still being a PS5 exclusive is also good news to me

I just think that if Sony isn't careful, they might shoot themselves on their foot, especially if they think PC is a totally "harmless" platform, but i do agree that this whole RAM crisis thing will affect PC a lot

Re: Rumour: Sony Backtracking on PC Strategy, Shifting Towards PS5 Exclusivity Again

themaladroit

I've already said this before.

PC market is growing.

Console market is stagnating.

Prices of hardware are increasing everywhere and consoles aren't as cheap as they were before

When you have someone that can go either way (PC or console), they might look at Playstation and think: "i gotta pay to play online, there aren't a lot of games that make me want to get a PlayStation and the ones that I'm interested in that are from Playstation are also on PC as well, and they're cheaper". Why would they get a PS5 or a PS6? I wouldn't

And that's where the problem, in my opinion, begins: If enough people think like that and they start shifting towards PC, they might even buy some Playstation games on PC, but what about 3rd party games?

When you subsidize a hardware you need to recoup the costs and earn profit through software sales. If most people move to PC and start buying their games there, including 3rd party games, then Sony won't get a cut from these sales. Sony will not get any cut from microtransaction purchases from Fortnite, Apex Legends and etc that aren't acquired on Playstation platforms, Sony won't get any money from PS Plus, which is needed to play a bunch of online games, because that person will be playing on PC for free

Sony will start losing a lot of money. It's not about selling 1st party games, it's about losing sales of 3rd party games to Valve or Epic and everything else i already mentioned (microtransactions, PS Plus and etc). PC is and always will be a threat to consoles and apparently only Nintendo got the memo

Sony is walking a tight rope here

Nintendo is doing fine. Microsoft is one of the, if not the biggest, publisher of AAA games in the world right now, so they earn A LOT of money by putting their games everywhere

Re: PS Store Adds Another Layer of Transparency to PS5, PS4 Game Pricing

themaladroit

Hah, that's going to be interesting if they put this in Brazil. For example, Rise of the Ronin launched here costing 350 reais (full price), now it's costing 400 reais, and the same applies to a lot of games, including recent ones like Death Stranding 2 and a lot of indies, since Playstation Brazil decided to raise the price of almost every digital game in their store. If anything, this will make us brazilians feel more pissed at Playstation Brazil and Sony. Can't wait to see this in our store!

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 621

themaladroit

I'm all in on Possessor(s), that Metroidvania that everyone said it was "meh" but in reality is really fun for me (aside from some bugs)
I also played a bit of Kingdom Come Deliverance, but I still suck ass at that game. I have to use a guide so i can progress, but at least I'm moving forward

Both games are being played on PS5. Gotta take a trip tomorrow, so I'll be away from my PS5 until at least Thursday. Meanwhile I'll be playing something on my 2DS

Re: 'I'm Confident in the Direction We're Headed': Under-Fire PlayStation Boss Tries to Explain Baffling Bluepoint Closure

themaladroit

I'm so glad that Hermen Hulst is being called out for his BS mismanagement. This is the only positive news from this whole thing. I also feel bad for Bluepoint. These guys made so many decent remasters before Sony acquired them. Now they're gone, just like that. CEOs always get away with whatever ***** they do, for some reason, so unfortunately i think Hermen won't be going anywhere soon

Re: 'I Feel Cheated and I Want a Refund': Fans Lash Out at New PS5 God of War's Unlockable Local Multiplayer Mode

themaladroit

Well, it doesn't make a lot of difference for me because I'm always playing stuff solo, anyway. I don't have anyone to play local co-op stuff with me. Kinda weird what they did, but it doesn't really affect me

@LieutenantFatman a piece of advice: i already put this person on my ignore list and i recommend you do the same. Best thing i ever did (we both know who's the user I'm referring to here)

Re: Mega State of Play Confirmed for Thursday, Over 60 Mins of PS5 Announcements and Updates

themaladroit

In Brazil the stream will be at 19h. There's always been local time in these articles, but not this time. Come on, Push Square, there are users from around the world who access this website. I had to look up in another website to see our local time

Anyway, not gonna guess anything other than Hades 2 might be announced to PS5. The Switch 2 exclusivity thing might be ending soon...or not, i don't care, that's the only thing i can guess
