@jgrangervikings1 indeed. It greatly depends on the game, but yeah, come to think of it, I’ve never had a serious issue with a Sony first party game

@jgrangervikings1 no matter how much you're making, you can tell if something is a steal or not. Especially if you weren't always well off. Sure, some people forget and other pretend to forget how they used to live, but it's the exception that people are completely detached from reality.

Bottom line: compared to other forms of entertainment, (going out with friends for drinks, going to, to concerts, to the cinema, to the opera, etc), it's a steal, though not as much as Netflix and other streaming platforms.

@John_Deacon why would you add DLC and season passes? And why would you buy it at launch, when you can't afford it? With movie tickets, you can't wait to watch it at the cinemas at a lower price (the experience at home isn't the same). And if you want the extras (e.g. deleted scenes, extended version), you have to buy the DVD/bluray etc.

Even people at the top can compare apples to apples and realize that especially certain video games offer tremendous value for money compared to other forms of entertainment.

it's not like he's saying that 1,000 USD tickets to Taylor Swift aren't expensive.

@DonkeyFantasy but you can sell it immediately and make a significant amount back, if it's physical or a game on steam.

@Juanalf all those are extras that you can completely ignore and greatly enjoy the base game. Like we used to do before all these additions (DLC, expansions, etc) became the norm.

@Dr-zoidburg even when they offer no new games, the fact that it lets you stream games is a pretty big deal for some people, including myself, especially for psportal. The existing catalogue has more games I could ever play.

I played the demo for a bit and I saw enough to know I'll enjoy it. I immediately deleted it. I'll buy the game when it gets a price cut or two.

Just another case of blowing things way out of proportion. Glad to see that Bungie reacted immediately and did the right thing.

@CielloArc It’s a completely different game. It’s not an option between Tekken 7 and 8. Different characters, different gameplay, etc. Also, not everyone wants to keep playing the same game for years or needs continuous support to enjoy it.

@AtlasLivesAgain both excellent games, though perhaps due to nostalgia Tombi/Tomba will always have a special place in my heart.

@ArcadeSixties I strongly disagree. Nintendo is lucky to have some of the strongest ips and fans who trust them with whatever they release. Not many companies have that luxury. There is very little doubt in my mind that if they were to release games under a different name, they'd flop. Like Gamefreak with "Tembo the Badass Elephant".

@Korgon it's quite simple, though. We're talking about incredibly sad individuals who have been hurt by others throughout their lives and are so damaged that hating on others is all they have left. They'll direct their anger towards customer service, waitresses, etc. Anyone who can't/ won't fight back.

Every item is expensive on its own, but this kind of reporting and the reaction to it is all sorts of wrong.

@Max_the_German yeah, so the argument doesn't hold any water because a) that was before the acquisitions of several studios as well as the biggest publisher of many top selling franchises b) they also released older games. If Sony were to release all the first party games they have since ps2 on xbox, they'd flood the market.

@RiverGenie no it's not. We all know what it means, because we understand context. Just like when you book a room at a hotel and get a "free massage". When you pay entrance fee to an event and get a "free drink". It means "at no additional cost". It's that simple.

@KingPev yes, in many ways it's even better than the base game. It's much more linear and focuses on story and action, while also introducing new spells. I bought it when it was on discount and thought it was a steal. If it's on sale again, you should definitely consider getting it. It only takes a few hours to beat, but it's action packed. Highly recommended.

After beating the wonderful Forspoken (including the DLC), I finally started playing Veilguard. Just like Forspoken, it seems like it didn't deserve any of that hate. A very well made and fun game. I may upgrade to the deluxe edition, just to support them, even belatedly.
