Still playing Hades. It's an awesome game that I can't recommend highly enough. The more I play, the more it surprises me with things I didn't expect to see in a rogeulike.

I'm quite close to getting the platinum, but I will keep playing it till I unlock everything (btw, this never happens to me).

I'll buy Hades II day 1 when it comes to ps5.

@CP2 "Probably the number one reason PlayStation is doing so well is because Xbox is doing so poorly."

That's not the reason. No product becomes desirable or a success because of lack of competition. Consumers buy whatever they consider a good product. Hence why so many first party games on playstation flop even when they have very little competition. Also, why PSVR1 +2 failed even though Nintendo and Xbx offered no alternative. Or why similarly Apple Vr failed.

Lack of competition does not guarantee success.

As for third party games, yes, that's where most of Sony's revenue comes from. But in order to get that, they had to make sure ps5 was a console gamers wanted to buy. The huge success of ps4 and (ps3 towards the end of its life) strengthened the brand enough to make ps5 seem like a good purchase.

@bizzysgs "The only reason playstation is thriving right now is because Xbox dug themselves so deep in the grave that not even an incompetent sony can save them."

Yeah, it's not like Sony released any good games on ps4 that helped solidify the brand. It was 100% xbx messing up. Nor did they release any good games on ps5, apparently, no matter what critics and sales suggest.

Re: Ambitious The Sims Rival inZOI Is Now Confirmed for PS5 in 2026

Used to love this type of games, especially The Sims, until I found myself trying to improve my sim's stats by reading and working out while I was neither reading or working out. It hit me that I was improving my fictional self rather than my real self and immediately deleted it from my laptop and never looked back.

Anyway, inZoi looks an improvement over The Sims, but again, for me, that only makes it worse.

@DarianStarfrog they do matter. For one thing, your choice determines who lives and who dies. Also, if you pick a companion who’s not fit for a role you assign them, some don’t make it. In one case you can save only one town and its people. The companions treat you differently based on your choice. They also refuse to accompany you after choosing the other companion. Who’s gaslighting exactly?

Finally got the platinum for Dragon Age: Veilguard. It was truly one of the best gaming experiences I’ve ever had. Great gameplay, an engaging story, and most importantly, characters I completely fell in love with. Now that it’s over and I know I won’t get to interact with them anymore, it feels like the end of a beloved TV show. You’re left with this strange yet beautiful sense of connection to the characters, and then suddenly, it’s just gone...

Has anyone else felt that way after beating a game?

Anyway, I’m currently having a blast with Hades. It’s such an addictive game, and I’ve just realised that roguelikes are absolutely my favourite type of game.
