Sony is sadly turning into Nintendo. I abandoned Nintendo about a decade ago and never looked back. I don't see that happening with Sony because of the thousands of digital games I own, but it's been one disappointing decision after another. This is not the company that I admired throughout my life.

Again, to have a double standard, the cases need to be similar. There isn't an equivalent that someone has provided so far. We need to be careful with putting labels on people considering how it can affect them and at the same time, there have been several studies showing how porn influences people's perception of intimacy and damages relationships, especially among young and impressionable men and women.

Indeed. On the flip side, someone could see that most people find the director's comments absolutely fine and he or she could make similar comments themselves in public and lose their jobs/ get an HR complaint, embarrass themselves in class, etc. The actress Jameela Jamil was doing a documentary a few years ago and asked middle school students questions and at the end she was asked by a 12 year old "if I ...e my girlfriend, will she love me?". That's pretty problematic. Because all he sees and reads online is that it's completely normal. Sexuality is indeed normal but nuance is also important.

@PuppetMaster when they showed the very first video about the possibility of bear sex in BD3 there was a huge uproar, even here. Just because you didn't see it, it doesn't mean it didn't exist. But again, the topic at hand is the developer responding in such detail about anatomy. Someone more professional could have made a short comment on the importance of accuracy which helps with immersion and then pivoted to gameplay instead.

@Northern_munkey I'm afraid I can't be of much help, but I appreciate your post. I haven't played it, so it's impossible for me to say. All I can see is that it's a well crafted game that you'll either love or it'll bore you to tears. It's definitely not for everyone and even if you were to try it for 2 hours on steam, I don't think you'd get a good enough sense of it. If you can get it (or already have it via ps+) for free, I'd say definitely go for it. Just make sure you give a proper chance. It's an acquired taste.

@AverageGamer I mean, we kept getting wii games (Just Dance) until a few years ago (in 2020, specifically). That was not a reflection of the industry. Most Japanese games have a small budget that even switch 1 could easily. That won't change any time soon. They know their audience is quite small. Now if GTA or Ghost of Yotei also released on ps4, we'd have a problem.

@PuppetMaster they probably saw that their games are heavily pirated, hardly sell any copies, the ports are so bad that they're hurting the brand (instead of giving PC gamers a reason to switch to PS consoles), and that the profits are so small it's not worth the effort.
