Man, this sounds really cool, but it may be the only game one couldn't pay me enough to play. I travel literally several times a week and the last thing I want to experience is yet another flight.
@SuperYlvis Plenty of reasons to buy an xbox. You may have a huge xbx digital and physical library from previous generations, your friends may have an xbox and you want to play with them, you may prefer the xbox controller or you may see value in gamepass. And that's off the top of my head.
@SuperYlvis "People are basically forced to buy a ps5 if they want a high end console."
Not really. People also have the option not to buy a console at all. Sony and every other company are very well aware of that. So they increase the price as much as gamers allow them to. Remember when ps+ subs were down? They acted quickly, regardless of what MS or Nintendo were doing or how well they were performing. At the end of the day, they compete for people's (time and) money whether they have a competitor or not.
"Competition is always good."
It's been proven one too many times that it not always the case. Case in point, MS buying Activision and Sony Bungie.
The ps5 selling twice as much as S2 is pretty significant. I really do think Sony should drop the price permanently. They'll make far more from subscriptions and MTX anyway.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, the comparisons with previous generations make very little sense when they don't factor in just how much cheaper it would get throughout each generation to make consoles as opposed to now. Can you imagine how much a 160 USD ps5 would sell? I think ps2 went sub 100 USD at some point.
@Onearmbandit I had the same experience. I just couldn't put it down. I don't get how they managed to make it work. I usually get bored after playing the same game over and over again.
@TrollOfWar 1. Not really. Plenty of great games don't sell well period. What's more, plenty of games that sell well everywhere else don't necessarily sell well on xbx. The examples you provided are from well established IPs or already massive success stories elsewhere (Helldivers 2). 2. No matter how you slice it, it's extra work. And whether it woks perfectly on ps5 or not, many ps5 gamers will (falsely?) assume the experience is sub optimal. 3. "Helldivers 2 sold exceptionally well thanks to being released on multiple platforms". Nope. Not on xbx. On PC, but not xbx. It was a massive success before it was even announced for xbx. And that was a mulitplayer game. This one isn't.
@Fiendish-Beaver "it will sell pretty well on the Xbox too simply because there really isn't anything like it on that platform. And yes, whilst the Xbox has sold somewhere between a third and half as many consoles as the PS5, that still amounts to around 30 million consoles, meaning a lot of games can be sold there."
These 30 million consoles are only important if people are buying games for them. A better number to use would be how many copies other similar games have sold on xbx recently.
And it goes without saying that I hope you're right and it sells well on xbx. We'll see.
@TrollOfWar I get that, but that's not what I mean exactly. What I wanted to say is that 1. I don't think it's going to sell many copies on xbx at all. 2. They could have focused entirely on ps5 hardware and made it an even better experience for ps5 gamers. 3. Advertising it as an exclusive could attract greater attention. etc.
@SeaDaVie I'd take a step further. People who are constantly negative and criticize things 95% of the time are unlikely to have any meaningful relationships.
I really don’t get the hate. Fortnite isn’t for me, but I’m really glad that so many people enjoy it. Whatever they’re doing, it’s clearly resonating with millions of people.
@Sam_ATLUS since the Wii, the only console with which Nintendo struggled was the WiiU and that was a failure everywhere, so I'd say they've done quite well in the UK for about 2 decades now.
@SuperYlvis you're free to focus on anything you want. As long as you want to be respectful and not call others names, it's all good as far as I'm concerned.
Two or more things can be noteworthy at the same time.
@Ambassador_Kong see, if you use several links which use the same source, is there a point to them?
They lead back to this source, which provides estimates, not an official source: https://tech4gamers.com/assassins-creed-shadows-lowest-sales-last-five-games/
"Across all platforms, Shadows performed well in isolation, selling just over 4.3M copies as per our estimates, with 56% on PS5, 26% on Xbox, and 18% on Steam"
Currently playing the game and I have to ask, is better in English or French, in your opinion? I prefer the original but I read somewhere that it's better in English? Can anyone confirm?
@Dogbreath haha, no you don’t. Not everyone plays online. I have premium and I pay less per year. Also, games are not always that much cheaper. Especially if you buy older games that have received significant price cuts.
I just bought Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and I should be playing it. Instead, I find myself playing Vampire Survivors, as I have very little time at them moment and want to properly enjoy 33.
@LazyDaisy so... not everything is a reaction to Nintendo. Sony already had this feature? I know I've played Vampire Survivors for 198 hours, when I got each trophy, how rare it is, etc.

Re: 'It's Fun and Looks Amazing': PSVR2's Next Must-Have May Be Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024

Re: The Boys Brings Some Much-Needed Heat to PSVR2 Next Year
The show keeps getting better. If the game is anywhere near as good, all 5 of us PSVR2 gamers are in for a treat.
Re: Thief VR: Legacy of Shadow (PSVR2) - A Disappointingly Thin Dishonored-Lite
How incredibly disappointing. Had high hopes for this one.

Re: PS5 Dominates USA and UK on Black Friday, Comfortably Outsells All Its Rivals
@SuperYlvis yes? We don't disagree on that. My point was about this:
"It would be pretty embarrassing if Sony didn't outsell all their rivals after discounting the PS5 for Black Friday."
It wouldn't. S2 could have very well sold more since they dealt with stock issues so efficiently.

@gamepadnomad that does not address your initial point to which I replied, though. It's like moving the goalpost 101.
Re: PS5 Dominates USA and UK on Black Friday, Comfortably Outsells All Its Rivals
@gamepadnomad would it? S2 is a new console. Wasn't ps5 out of stock for like two years?

The absolutely wonderful Clair Obscur: Expedition 33

I just hope it's a winning strategy for them. Releasing it on Xbox makes very little sense to me.

Re: Black Ops 7 Dominates PS5 Downloads Despite Backlash
@themightyant I think it was around 30 quid.
Re: Black Ops 7 Dominates PS5 Downloads Despite Backlash
@themightyant Just wanted to say that I bought Expedition 33 in November, but solely because of the price cut it received. It was the biggest one yet.
Re: PS5 Action RPG The God Slayer No Longer Part of Sony's China Hero Project, First Gameplay Footage Is Jaw-Dropping
@IronCrow86 they could be trying to attract extra funding or something. Otherwise, I agree.
Re: PS5 Action RPG The God Slayer No Longer Part of Sony's China Hero Project, First Gameplay Footage Is Jaw-Dropping
I ain't watching that. I'd like my jaw to remain where it is. Thank you very much.
In all seriousness, I watched the trailer and it's exactly my cup of tea (martial arts + magical powers). Hope it turns out as impressive as it looks.

@Noone2025 indeed. All evidence would suggest that consoles in their 5th year sell better than new consoles.
Plenty of examples to be found, like...
Re: PS5 Is Edging Out the Switch 2 in the UK So Far This Year
@RoomWithaMoose "And yes, you two sound threatened. Maybe insecure is the better word for it."
"And I can only assume that's because you"
By all means, do keep it up. It's unintentionally hilarious.
Re: PS5 Is Edging Out the Switch 2 in the UK So Far This Year
@RoomWithaMoose yes. And that was clear. And addressed several times. That's why they said, let's make a fairer comparison: October 2025.
"I don't know why both of you are so threatened"
Dear God, that's hilarious.
