This would be getting worse and not just in the US. Some people say oh free games, only cosemtic items but young people would spend a lot more than buying AAA games on these costemtics, in game items, emotes. Such a shame.

It is indeed quite impressive. By this point during PS4 cycle, I have already owned 3 x PS4. Traded in PS4 with sim and then with pro. Each time only paid a small amount. But Sony no longer do this kind of promo in PS5 and I am still stuck with original digital edition.

This inevitable. Even with gamepass of 1$ promo, the sales of Xbox consoles keep going down. They might mess up xbox one launch but they did everything correctly with serie S/X, yet the sales of the new gen is even worse than the infamous Xbox one. With PS5 holding GTA 6's advertisements, Xbox sale would even get worse next year.
They do have very mighty cloud infrastratures and massive money pot, so MS will stay around in gaming scenes as publishers and cloud.

@DennisReynolds I swear BF 2042 plays the same as BF 6 beta. I never notice 2042 is a hero shooter as well. Now I admit I am never a fan of COD or BF, so may not notice a minor difference.

@Steeleye50 Then you could say Xbox S/X was a lot worse with 0 exclusive for a year. I also dont see any game sold for 90 USD, not sure you mean other countries dollar. The price raise was from 70 to 80 for some games, which will be continually updated. Even DK was priced at 70.

The only Nintendo game which is 80$ is mario kart world, which you can easily buy with extra 50$ when purchased in bundle. The physical version was also available below rrp in multiple retails, at least in the UK. So wouldn’t call Nintendo is alone on this path. Microsoft pricing 80$ for outer world is wild as in terms of popularity of franchise, it is nowhere near to Mario.

@Exerion76 Sure for such a long and storied gaming history, I want more examples. Parasite eve 1 and 2 difference is mostly game play type change when square was doing experimental stuf (basically adopting more traditional survival horror game which is nothing new at that time with SH and RE at the top og their popularity). RE 3 to 4 is between console generation where technical improvements allow significant improvement. RE 2 and 3 are exactly the same with reused asset. Remember RE4 over the shoulder camera angle is still widely used to this day. Don’t know about others. How about you give some modern examples too?

People calling this more of the same are ridiculous. There is a reason it is called ghost of Yotei (as this is basically got 2). You can dislike this for any reason. But for more of the same is ridiculous. What would you realistically want more to change? There are now different weapons, and even guns. And those people can you give me one game where direct sequel changes dramatically? Don't say graphics as gone are the days of drastically different graphics between generations.

Portable consoles are overhyped. Nintendo switch selling really well is due to its software rather than its portability (maybe except in japan). Steam deck is successful but its sale is still under 5 million.

It seems there are no more rats. Likely spin-off. The cut scene at the end of 2 makes them run out of idea. They should have shown early or late 1800s, rather than modern era where the rat mechanics wouldn't work.

Some people just love to moan for everything. I wonder whether they feel hurt by this delay, bugs, silence etc. When Cyberpunk was released with buggy mess, they moan that should be delayed blah blah. Now GTA 6 delayed, they moan no more interest blah blah. When TLOU 2 delayed, they moan it is announced too early, and then Sony becomes more silent about their game development, they moan no communication.

On this very short segment, I feel GoT OST is better.

More gamers but these more gamers play the same game in Roblox, Fortnite, Counter Strike for ages. And more people play only mobile. The reality is a lot of games bombed in sales, live service or not.

It is not just Sony's. PC gamers are well known to pirate unless it is multiplayer. Hence GTA 6 would not be launched day and date despite the Rockstar is such a big developer. Even games that were launched day and date aren't successful, like Indiana Jones. Yeah yeah there is gamepass but its number is much lower than other games.

Convenience trumps everything. It is not like those discs last forever, in that sense you don't own it forever. Buying physical means you need to have place to store the, you need to change the disc to play another games etc. People like me who keeps moving usually don't want extra baggage. I have been entirely digital since 2016, and I have over 500 games in my library (including PS plus and some demo). Imagine where would I keep them if they are physical copies.

So if this game were badly reviewed, haters will rejoice, I told you so. If this game had great reviews, they would accuse reviewers of being woke. If this game didn’t sell (most likely no matter how the reviews turn out), they will keep saying go woke, go broke, blah blah. If this game succeeded, they will mostly stay quiet but still make accusations how gamers feed the agenda.

Many old games on EU list. Both EA 24 and 25 on list. But it seems football/ soccer is not as popular in the US. Maybe Sony should release on Switch 2, where there lots of platforming lovers. Not sure, Mario fans would revolt though. That would be quite a big shock.

At this point, Ubisoft is going to be bought pretty soon. It is just worth over 1 billion. It does own a lot of well known IPs. Sony should consider to buy it but the problem is it's bloated employee size.

I don't want to bring politics on game site but I can't stop feeling pity whenever I see someone comment- 'oh it is the same, you are just being monitored by either US gov or CCP'. They think all gov are the same. A big No, man. No gov is perfect but believe me you haven't experienced the worst. Only then you know the difference, one;y then you would more appreciate your gov which you thought is an utter rubbish. You may think I am exagerrating but some thing, you need to experience to believe it.

As their neighbor, I make this claim with 100% certainty. You know all about US bullying around the world. Their media also say whatever they earn. But how much do you know about China? Prejudice? My own experience is prejudice?

@themightyant Thats the point. All US companies ties with military are well known. Even if a few kept secret, then they will be revealed sooner or later, due to freedom of journalists. But it is totally untrue in Asia, especially in China. Everything is under control, all are brainwashed in schools and very patriotic to the extreme. A few whistleblowers are sent to camp. So you know most of US and western countries involvement in foreign affairs. China don't do that? They are even worse, a massive bully, supporting dictators. It isn’t just in the news. So yeah proof/ evidence are not reliable in Asia as they can be easily made.
How do I know? I m originally from Asia, a Chinese descent born in a neighboring country.
