Despite the loud noises from gamers everywhere, we need to accept that the majority spend a lot of time on these f2p games. Once a live service game stuck, it became a gold mine. Personally, I prefer games like FF16, Spiderman 2, but with development cost it is only a bombed game away from bankrupcy for most developers, hence they need a backup successful f2p game, but again the market is saturated. I wish foamstars becomes successful.

I bought PS5 as soon as I got my hands on it, and never felt angry that most games were released on the previous gen. Sony could have followed Microsoft's way and announced games in 6-7 years in advance and gave minimal updates with every gameshow. But what is the point? They have definitely changed their stance since the TLOU 2 delay and subsequent plot leak (Some idiots justify the leak for the delay back then).

If they did it right, mp game in tlou world has a potential. I was looking forward to it.The faction mode in TLOU 1 was quite enjoyable. I guess the project becomes too big for them to handle.i hope it comes with some MP mode in their next game.

Indiana may not be as big as Spider-Man but it definitely has bigger name recognition than God of War, Uncharted, HZD, Tushima etc. So should have sold more than these based on >300 million base, don't you think?

Although I don't play games on PC, I have steam, epic, battlenet, gog accounts to claim free games. So that is the LITERAL numbers you provided? Liar! 30 million out of a possible 300 + million (if I take your number) for a free game available on 1 $ promo service is a bad number (Oh I was one of them).
The fact that you don't think Indiana and other exclusives would sell more than PS exclusives speaks volumes. (why should games on 50 million base system sell more than 300 millions base). Oh GP always count everyone who downloads and plays even 10 sec. Rockstar not releasing on day and date is more than double dipping. Rampant piracy on PC is one of them.

The horror/ Psycho thriller genre is more niche. Those who haven't played Alan Wake 1 would not buy it either. No physical release as mentioned by others is just an excuse. Digital sales have been far more than physical in recent years.

@Godot25 funny you are overestimating PC number. While there are billions of PC, PC gamers are very minority. Hence GTA 6 or 5 or RDR 2 never release day and date on PC (also because of piracy problem and more difficult to optimise). I can say for sure even combined with PC Indiana or even Xbox exclusives did not sell as well as PS exclusives.

Playing this in co-op would be fantastic. For me, RPG needs to be an action one like this. Turn-based like Mario or balder gate wouldn't do for me despite rave reviews.

So MK1 won best MP in joystick or whatever award but not even nominated here (for mp). Starfield was put into right place. If it were not for biggest exclusives for xbox in many years, it wouldn’t even be that hyped. Hogwarts and ff16 snub were a surprise though but this year is especially competitive.

Got it for 150£. So a bargain. Useless to compare to steamdeck. Yes deck is more versatile but also more expensive. But more importantly, for those who dont have any game in steam library, it would cost a lot more later. The thing is gone are the days people game on commute, on streets etc (still a few left) due to mobile phones. I have switch but it is always on dock. So playing at home is fine for me.

@NotSoCryptic Well 7 million downloads is a lot, considering their low-key release, without being reviewed by any well known gaming and media websites. I don't normally check Steam as I am not PC gamer, but looking just now, it has a lot of user comments which in a way they do engage, not just download. Yes, the IP is well-loved and known. But a lot of people didn't even know its release. More importantly, why are you so worried about its success? Download numbers may not reflect its longevity (given it only has one mode at the moment). But why can't we just enjoy why it lasts?

Come on, they own Crunchyroll, the biggest anime streaming service. Sony doesn’t just operate PlayStation. Crunchy has 11 millions paid sub and much more are on free ad plan. Not bad for a niche streaming and the popularity of anime is on the rise too.

It has everything- story, combat, musical score and visuals. Even multiplayer component was great. Bogging down the score due to a few bad side quests was inappropriate. It should score higher. I guess every open world game has some or more rubbish side quests to pad out.

Hopefully, I will have some fun with Dragonball breakers and Aliens. My Hero Ultra Rumble by Namco is fun although there are a few Gacha elements. These are fun quick short burst games.

So how is this related to the internet connection required for pairing as this is the disc version?

@Badger_Badgerski No standard game sold above 70. Fine with your limit. Also, try to understand when the producers try to keep the cost down with available means, especially in a small game like above where they only talk a few lines.

@Badger_Badgerski Well it is how the business work. It is easy to say when they are successful and making money. But there are also many companies which went out of business and bleeding money. I guess in a way it is similar to betting. Companies got most of the money as they are the one who risk and invest loads of money. They are the one who lost money if it didn’t do very well. They are not charity.
I am generally talking about all things- people who would like to get writer/ actors paid more should also expect that cost will be eventually spread to themselves.
Of note, the game price was cheaper compared to 90s, if you count the inflation. I don’t mean I want to pay more as the salary also mostly stay the same (for most professions at least in the UK). But everything else price has gone up.

@IronMike Cliche argument. And cliche explanation- the US price doesn’t include tax and no state in the US tax 20% like in the U.K. EU countries also tax a lot. But generally things also a bit cheaper in America and Asia. I am not sure about the reason they price earbud differently but it is common with tech products. Just wish U.K. cut some tax rate for ordinary people.

I mean Xbox has been having barren years since the latter years of Xbox One until now (when they have big AAA games back to back). Most people are probably locked into PS accounts from PS4 era. I predict the GP subscription number will go down next year, now that MS 1$/£ promo ended. I subscribed for 3 years but didn't use it much and it expired this month and did not renew.

I probably won't buy it as I usually don't finish horror game, never play Alan Wake 1 and the Remedy games come to PS plus. But I personally don't think digital only is a problem. Game preservation claims only concerns a very minority but very loud voice (still it is rubbish as a disc would only last so long). The only benefit I can see is you can trade-in/sell. I am also not sure why Remedy skipped physical, now that they are owned by Epic. The budget isn't an issue. Maybe they can sell more (as one can't buy used discs) and save some money by not putting on discs.

Saw the news yesterday that their stock has fallen due to this not selling well. Which one is true? One million sale for this type of game is good.

@UltimateOtaku91 Aiming is the word. Whether they can actually do is another matter. The thing is MS with all their financial might can only release 3-4 first party exclusives since next gen launch (yeah that’s about 3 years now)

@MagisterMagi Well a lot of Konami IPs go beyond Japanese markets and are well known in the rest of the world. But currently, their IPs aren't properly used.

Buying Japanese studios like Konami (and maybe Square Enix) would be sensible. Konami has loads of great IPs and the cost would also be reasonable.

@IOI well defend? I mean I have standing like this for 2 years with no problem with heating. I couldn’t just bother to install the stand. The stand itself is so low, I am not sure how it would helps with ventilation. That’s what I thought and I am so shocked someone would accuse and judge based on this. Disappointing!
