Re: UK Sales Charts: The Last of Us 2 Remastered Beats Prince of Persia to the Podium

I hope Sony also focus on smaller games. Gone are the days of PS2 era of small odd games, som eof which are gems. Sony should also remake its old IPs such as Syphon Filter. Replaying that or other classic titles on PS Premium, I can't stand it, despite growing up with them.
@Pushsquare, can you pool how many people are playing those classic titles? The vocals were so loud for BC blah blah. But I feel the Sony boss said the truth—only a minority ever touches them. Don't even bring up what the MS boss said, I know that, but he was always dodgy and not truthful. That said some retro NES/ super NES games are still enjoyable.

Re: Poll: Are You Playing The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered?

mrbone

I love the game a lot but feel a bit long. Like some others, I would like it better if not for a certain character's death, which I think is quite brutal. But I salute ND for being bold rather than choosing safe options. The problem was the first game was so well received for its twist, that ND felt they had to do something shocking. Still the ending was very beautiful for me. I have already upgraded and will play it again.

Re: PlayStation Reveals Most Played Games of 2023 by Region, Is Basically a Waste of Time

Despite the loud noises from gamers everywhere, we need to accept that the majority spend a lot of time on these f2p games. Once a live service game stuck, it became a gold mine. Personally, I prefer games like FF16, Spiderman 2, but with development cost it is only a bombed game away from bankrupcy for most developers, hence they need a backup successful f2p game, but again the market is saturated. I wish foamstars becomes successful.

Re: Sony Officially Confirms PS5 Has Passed the 50 Million Units Milestone

mrbone

You wouldn't believe some xbox fanboys come and suffer in this kind of article. Ignore such trolls, people. We have a lot of great games coming out one after another this year that even goty nomination was difficult and these trolls keep moaning there is no game to play, no exclusive, slap in the face for releasing on PS4 blah blah. I bought PS5 as soon as I got my hands on it, and never felt angry that most games were released on the previous gen. Sony could have followed Microsoft's way and announced games in 6-7 years in advance and gave minimal updates with every gameshow. But what is the point? They have definitely changed their stance since the TLOU 2 delay and subsequent plot leak (Some idiots justify the leak for the delay back then).

Re: Disney Doesn't Think It Was 'Overly Exclusionary' to Cut Planned PS5 Version of Indiana Jones

mrbone

@Godot25 lol what? fatihyazici7 website is your source? Are you kidding? I don't even dare to open it. 20 million on 120 is still better than 30 out of 300 and those 20 million have to pay unlike free with promo sub. Indiana may not be as big as Spider-Man but it definitely has bigger name recognition than God of War, Uncharted, HZD, Tushima etc. So should have sold more than these based on >300 million base, don't you think?

Re: Disney Doesn't Think It Was 'Overly Exclusionary' to Cut Planned PS5 Version of Indiana Jones

mrbone

@Godot25 you must be quite tiring coming to the PlayStation site every day and praising Xbox. lol
OK let's break it down. Even forgetting about the a lot of overlapping users, there aren't 300+ million combining all Steam, gog, Epic and smaller service. Although I don't play games on PC, I have steam, epic, battlenet, gog accounts to claim free games. So that is the LITERAL numbers you provided? Liar! 30 million out of a possible 300 + million (if I take your number) for a free game available on 1 $ promo service is a bad number (Oh I was one of them).
The fact that you don't think Indiana and other exclusives would sell more than PS exclusives speaks volumes. (why should games on 50 million base system sell more than 300 millions base). It does not make sense. Don't want to argue over stupid console wars, my original point was you are overestimating the numbers of pc gamers.

Re: E3 Is Officially Dead

@twitchtvpat Not really when game award spend more time on game and trailers. But thing is there are other game awards too, why give more attention to that?

Re: E3 Is Officially Dead

I think it is at least better than the game award or all the events organised by that guy, SOrry lazy to look up his name.

Re: Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Spotlights Its Brainwashed Heroes in Latest Trailer

Those who fear the games will be taken away as it is always online are like people who fear the sky falling one day. I mean almost everyone who plays games has access to the internet. And you fear the game will be taken away, obviously multiplayer part will stop to exist but the solo play can be easily made available after they stop the server like Avengers. Usual game preservation blah blah is so cliche. I would just rather enjoy the present, although it does not mean I will buy this at launch.

Re: Hardware Review: PS Portal Is the Perfect PS5 Companion (For Some)

mrbone

Got it for 150£. So a bargain. Useless to compare to steamdeck. Yes deck is more versatile but also more expensive. But more importantly, for those who dont have any game in steam library, it would cost a lot more later. The thing is gone are the days people game on commute, on streets etc (still a few left) due to mobile phones. I have switch but it is always on dock. So playing at home is fine for me.

Re: My Hero Academia's Battle Royale Has Been Downloaded Over 7 Million Times

mrbone

@NotSoCryptic Well 7 million downloads is a lot, considering their low-key release, without being reviewed by any well known gaming and media websites. I don't normally check Steam as I am not PC gamer, but looking just now, it has a lot of user comments which in a way they do engage, not just download. Yes, the IP is well-loved and known. But a lot of people didn't even know its release. More importantly, why are you so worried about its success? Download numbers may not reflect its longevity (given it only has one mode at the moment). But why can't we just enjoy why it lasts?

Re: Sony Reveals iSIZE Acquisition, Not a Games Developer

mrbone

Come on, they own Crunchyroll, the biggest anime streaming service. Sony doesn’t just operate PlayStation. Crunchy has 11 millions paid sub and much more are on free ad plan. Not bad for a niche streaming and the popularity of anime is on the rise too.

Re: The Finals Opted for AI Voices Because 'It Gets Us Far Enough in Terms of Quality'

@Badger_Badgerski Well it is how the business work. It is easy to say when they are successful and making money. But there are also many companies which went out of business and bleeding money. I guess in a way it is similar to betting. Companies got most of the money as they are the one who risk and invest loads of money. They are the one who lost money if it didn’t do very well. They are not charity.
I am generally talking about all things- people who would like to get writer/ actors paid more should also expect that cost will be eventually spread to themselves.
Of note, the game price was cheaper compared to 90s, if you count the inflation. I don’t mean I want to pay more as the salary also mostly stay the same (for most professions at least in the UK). But everything else price has gone up.
