Re: Sony Committed to Better First-Party Games, 'Richer' Experiences, More PS5 Users

mrbone

I agree that not all first party games need to be state-of-the arts hundreds of millions budgeted games. I missed games like Heavy rain, Detroit, Until Dawn, Heavenly Sword etc, all of which are excellent with low budgets. Ray tracing, detailed grass are overrated and blown out of proportion by PC players. Reducing those extra would also help with frame rates even though that is not important for some games.

Re: Capcom Hits Record High Profits for Seventh Year in a Row

mrbone

Do you think it is related to the fact that Capcom develops all of their games in Japan? The west game development is mostly in trouble. Japanese people work so hard for a relatively low salary while due to cost of living and other multiple factors, game development cost, I think, is much higher in the west?

Re: This Year's Call of Duty May Not Be Included in Xbox Game Pass After All

mrbone

I always expect something like this could happen. There is no win for Microsoft here, whatever they choose. Last year they shift the blame on Sony and blind fanboys just take it but no excuse this year. A year old COD value has come down a lot as Sony usually gave out for free many times. But the new COD, no matter how bad the reviews are, always make loads of money. Will Microsoft break their promise (like they always do) and don't put it on GP day1? Or they keep their promise and eat their mega revenue loss? We shall see. Yes Playstation mostly contribute to the sale of COD but giving out the game free on whatever platform changes people's perceptions of that game's value, based on previous day 1 released games.

Re: Sony Wants You To Aid Your Fellow Gamers via Community Game Help

mrbone

I used it, which is very convenient. Yes, there is YouTube, but pulling out the phone, typing and searching for the exact segment, and fast forwarding takes much more longer. Just because you don't use does not mean others don't. FFS, I can't believe those haters loitering around on the topics they said they have no interest in at all.

Re: Sony and Apollo Reportedly Make $26 Billion All-Cash Paramount Bid

mrbone

Paramount don't have a lot of money making franchise. Shame, the movie industry has been all about superheroes for over a decade. After COVID, only blockbusters make money, even that is no longer a given. But it would give an option for Sony to do a streaming service, as I feel none of them can do a proper streaming separately.

Re: Many, Many More Xbox Ports Plotted for PS5, New Speculation Suggests

mrbone

Xbox is basically gamepass and publisher now. Their consoles are doing even worse than previous gen despite the much cheaper Xbox S option and the notoriety associated with xbox one. Personally, I could not care less about their games release, owned Xbox series S for about a year but I don't finish a single game.

Re: Rumour: Resident Evil 9 Reveal and Release Imminent, Out in January

mrbone

@Uncharted2007 Hence, I feel the price rise to 70 is justifiable. Gone are the days of late 90s and early 2000s when sequels came almost yearly. No matter what people say, I enjoyed all RE2, 3 and code veronica, although they came really close to each other. Gamers' expectation has unrealistically risen. Even this website marked down excellent Spider-Man 2 and RotR for similarity to predecessor or other games.
I agree with RE 5 and 6. I wish they remastered them. Had a blast with the co-op run. I like them a lot, although some really hate them.

I live in the UK. A lot wrong in the UK and it is beyond the scope of this article. But I don't think it is just because of to Brexit. It is just easier to point out the elephant in the room. Ukraine war does have impact on the whole Europe. And there is shortage of burse

Re: Days Gone Dev Bend Studio Staffing Up for 'AAA Live Service' Game

mrbone

@NEStalgia Haven’t read all yet but the first point. It is not just the haters, it is the media who tries to cater them. I have seen media give out very low score to such games like Suicide squad 3, 4 and haters engage a lot in such posts and on social media. Suicide squad - I only played demo so far and watched a few videos. In no way it is 3 or 4 low game. Just giving one example. And most don’t even review games like my hero academia or foamstars. It seems people and media starts talking about but is going to be very bad as soon as the game is gaas and not even see or try the game yet.

Re: Days Gone Dev Bend Studio Staffing Up for 'AAA Live Service' Game

mrbone

I think most live service games failed partly due to haters. They just don’t hate and forget them, they talk about it with almost every breath they take. They start hating with passion as soon as they heard the word. Unfortunately as they are the most vocal ones, it did have a big impact on such games. The thing is live service games such as Multiverse, Foamstars, My Hero academia are free and have a very solid foundation but haters just keep badmouthing without even giving a go. Heck even Gotham Knights and Suicide squad gameplays are good. And haters celebrate like there is no tomorrow once these games fail. The thing is you can play these games and have fun without spending a dime on MTX.

Re: 900 PlayStation Employees Laid Off, London Studio Closed

mrbone

@LifeGirl I think part of the problem is those games. Most casual gamers are staying there and not playing new games. For example, those who play Suicide Squad, Prince of Persia, and Foamstars etc are enjoying. But they aren't selling well. Services like Gamepass, Psplus also make gamers wait games for free.

Re: UK Sales Charts: The Last of Us 2 Remastered Beats Prince of Persia to the Podium

mrbone

I hope Sony also focus on smaller games. Gone are the days of PS2 era of small odd games, som eof which are gems. Sony should also remake its old IPs such as Syphon Filter. Replaying that or other classic titles on PS Premium, I can't stand it, despite growing up with them.
@Pushsquare, can you pool how many people are playing those classic titles? The vocals were so loud for BC blah blah. But I feel the Sony boss said the truth—only a minority ever touches them. Don't even bring up what the MS boss said, I know that, but he was always dodgy and not truthful. That said some retro NES/ super NES games are still enjoyable.

Re: Poll: Are You Playing The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered?

mrbone

I love the game a lot but feel a bit long. Like some others, I would like it better if not for a certain character's death, which I think is quite brutal. But I salute ND for being bold rather than choosing safe options. The problem was the first game was so well received for its twist, that ND felt they had to do something shocking. Still the ending was very beautiful for me. I have already upgraded and will play it again.
