@Dimey I wouldn't completely rule it out. If I recall (and I may be misremembering) when they removed the Genesis Collection from the PS Store, there were some indications it'd be replaced by something else.

I really like Ilya Kushinov so the character designs should be good at least. (Albeit probably very samey, haha.)

A massive SEGA compilation spanning everything from Master System to Dreamcast, including arcade games, would be awesome.

Or alternatively I'd love SEGA to start its own Arcade Archives style line and just sell each game individually with QOL improvements.

Apparently he's like 234cm in the Greek games, but a much more reasonable 194cm in the Norse games.

I think it's good casting in terms of appearance. Performance we'll need to wait and see.

But I can definitely see him as the character once they do all the makeup and stuff.

For as amazing as it is, PS1 Ridge Racer as the only PS Plus Premium game is really disappointing considering the context.

@LogicStrikesAgain It's almost assuredly just because the port isn't ready. It'd be day-and-date otherwise for sure.

Yeah I reckon it'll be out in September or October or something on PS5. That makes sense now we (seemingly) have the Xbox date.

@PuppetMaster Yeah, fair. I don't think this would be a particularly big issue at all if the classics catalogue was growing quicker.

Like, there probably is value in having the PS1 and arcade versions available as they are different and it's interesting from a historical perspective.

But with us getting so many classics each month, this just sticks out and feels like a wasted slot.

Off topic but I honestly can't believe they haven't added PSP Everybody's Tennis yet. That game is GREAT with an awesome campaign and would be such a no-brainer addition to PS5/PS4.

Ridge Racer is a legendary game and clearly one of the most important PS1 games ever.

But adding it when the Arcade Archives 2 version already exists feels like such a waste of time, resources, and honestly a bit of a scam.

Especially when the catalogue of emulated games is so small and missing so many true classics.

I've never played these but I've seen them in retro stores many times. Made by Wolf Team.

@rjejr It means there’s a bit more focus on the studio explaining its work. Not just trailers like a Nintendo Direct or State of Play. More interviews and stuff.

@trev666 Xbox is a third-party publisher now, so of course we cover them. Two of the three games in this Dev Direct are confirmed for PS5, and the third is rumoured.

@Jammer I dunno, I think with this one it's much just like a spiritual successor, because it's been so long since we got Parasite Eve.

This one feels more like, say, Bloodstained/Castlevania than a total knock-off.

I do think the fanbase for this franchise is a bit toxic too though.

Not that it should impact the creative decisions of the team, but it's felt for a while like they're damned if they do and damned if they don't.

I really liked True Colors. I felt that captured similar vibes with a (mostly) new cast.

@Zeroo I'll have to familiarise myself with how NL do it, but considering there are probably 50-100 different games mentioned across the article and comments, I'm really not sure how that would work very well.

I didn't play Lumines yet but I'm excited to grab it at some point. I'll probably play it in VR.

We always try to have a balance of stuff.

And even though the January sale is ongoing right now, you probably wouldn’t be able to get everything for that price as not all the games will be on sale right now.
