@awp69 Thanks for your feedback. I'd object to the wording "clickbait" because that implies we mislead readers; I don't think we do.
As you yourself said, Xbox is entangled with PlayStation now (do we not report on the potential closure of Compulsion Games, a studio which has shipped three games, all on PlayStation?)
I think what you're referring to in your comment is tone, so I take that feedback on board. Certainly my language has been strong at times, and I own that.
I would say that I'm generally just as strong on PlayStation as well, though. In fact, just as many people say I'm a PS5 hater as say I'm a PS5 fanboy.
I'd maintain that a lot of the Xbox news is absolutely relevant considering Microsoft's business decisions, and it's going to be a talking point for a long time to come.
But I take your feedback on tone on board.
@wildcat_kickz Makes sense, I totally get what you're saying!
@ztpayne7 @wildcat_kickz Thank you for the positive feedback.
I definitely hear what you're saying, but the way I see it, we could just republish press releases and call it a day. But you could get that content anywhere really; AI could definitely do all that for you.
I think delivering the news and adding some context/flavour to it is our USP.
It's worth noting that adding value to articles doesn't always have to be opinion-led; it could be us using our knowledge to explain why we think a rumour is believable or not.
But I agree with you, it needs to be clear what is fact and what is speculation/context/opinion.
@Metonymy Thanks!
@Max_the_German True! Like I said in the article, though, I think broadly people are drawn to people not publications now.
@Leetware1 Actually, I'm really happy you said that! We won't always be quickest or first with news, so the fact you come here to see what we/others think about stuff is very much the point.
I'm really happy to hear that!
@Questionable_Duck Thank you!
@PsBoxSwitchOwner Please do screenshot and report any invasive ads using the Contact form. I personally think our site is very usable, but I know bad ones can slip through, and it's helpful to know about them so we can get them removed.
@Haruki_NLI Fair feedback! Definitely doing the different headings to break up bigger articles was something I personally experimented with for a bit.
I think it can be a useful way to present a lot of information, but I hear you. I don't think there's been many articles like that, though. Maybe a handful.
It's not really something I think we'd be looking to do unless it really made sense to break up a lot of information.
@Sammy_G Sorry, I need to recycle a good picture!
@Nei Thank you, they're yummy!
@Bob_Tempura You're joking but it's definitely a factor. That K-pop article I mentioned really did hammer home to me that this was getting a bit silly now.
@IntrepidWombat Genuinely another issue for us! (But a fun one!) Obviously I think the British-ness is part of the site's character, but we have to make sure everyone understands what we mean/our sense of humour.
Don't always get it right, but it's a good challenge.
@Boucho11 There isn't but I think finding a way to reach people who may be doing other things (gym, driving, running) is something we need to think about.
@nessisonett Thank you!
@trev666 Always open to constructive feedback.
@Afroducc Thank you! The shorter snappier paragraphs are for a couple of reasons:
1) Most people read on mobile phones now, and larger paragraphs can quite quickly fill up a full screen. I find it makes things more digestible.
2) I think in this generation of TikTok, YouTube Shorts, a lot of people favour easily digestible information.
I think a lot about how Chat GPT presents information. I think its purposeful how direct and concise it can be.
@rjejr That's cool about your wife's work. If I may, can I ask which publisher she works for? Does she publish physical manhwa/webtoons or mainly novels?
@zebric21 Goes without saying, yeah. There's not as much disposable income to go around. People being more picky (understandably) with which games they spend on.
@wildcat_kickz I think Marathon's biggest issue is that it's just too hardcore. I know it's beloved by the people who actually play it, but it just seems way too difficult and niche for the masses to get on board.
Huge miscalculation IMO, especially with Destiny 2 being laid to rest and Destiny 3 not in development.
@TommyNL I just meant individually I'd assume USA, UK, and Japan are their biggest markets. I guess there might be some European countries bigger than Japan.

@Acedia23 Yeah, that was really cool and unique. I liked that one too! Thanks!

@madmaxrules Haha, then you paid attention to the most important part!
@Pat_trick Thanks!
@ztpayne7 Thanks, I get you!
Re: Site News: Oh, Hi Everyone! Did You Notice Anything Different Here Recently?
@Northern_munkey @TheDarts We definitely should do some kind of survey or something soon.
Re: Site News: Oh, Hi Everyone! Did You Notice Anything Different Here Recently?
@Skinny-Pete ??? I'm confused. AI has definitely changed the nature of search, and that's ONE reason for this change (but certainly not the only one)!
Re: Site News: Oh, Hi Everyone! Did You Notice Anything Different Here Recently?
@somnambulance That's great, thanks!

@johncalmc Welcome to first-person, John! I think you're going to like it here!
@RoomWithaMoose It's a big relief, thank you!
@MFTWrecks Apparently neither can I!
@somnambulance Which one in particular did you like?
@TensuraFan7 Me too! Thanks!
Re: Site News: Oh, Hi Everyone! Did You Notice Anything Different Here Recently?
@Bingoboyop I honestly don't know, I thought that when I was writing it. But anyway, as long as you understand what I mean.
EDIT: Okay, I've edited the original article to correct that now!
Re: South of Midnight Maker Said to Be Shuttered by Xbox
I know it's not going to help the studio now, but I do plan to buy and play this soon. Always thought it looked cool.
Glad they got to make the game they wanted to make.
Re: South of Midnight Maker Said to Be Shuttered by Xbox
@Oram77 Unfortunately, this is just the beginning it seems.
Re: These 7+ PS5 and PS Plus Games Are Coming Out This Week (15th-21st June)
@Waa-Laa We do!
Re: Feature: This Somber Platformer, Now 15-Years-Old, Deserves a Revisit on PS5
@rSp8 I quite enjoyed Dante's Inferno, too.
Re: Feature: This Somber Platformer, Now 15-Years-Old, Deserves a Revisit on PS5
Man, so happy to see so many other fans of this game here!
Re: Feature: This Somber Platformer, Now 15-Years-Old, Deserves a Revisit on PS5
@somnambulance That's a good point about having to seek out physical copies which could be challenging before digital games became ubiquitous.
And yeah, I like the idea of a "favourites" list.

@Yor-sama Seconded on the Oshi no Ko recommendation. Very good.
Re: 'We Wanted to Avoid Pretending the Industry Is Perfect': How K-pop Idol Stories Is Delivering the Ultimate PS5 Fantasy for K-pop Fans
@rjejr I have loads of Yen Press books actually. That's really cool!
Bocchi the Rock is Yen I think.

NewJeans is five! Bring back Danielle!
Re: Even with PS5 Ports, Many of Xbox's Games Have Been Underperfoming
Poll results are kinda crazy but not surprising.
Re: Stuntman: Hollywood PS5 Gameplay Is Popping Up Online, and It Looks Brilliant
This looks amazing

@zebric21 Goes without saying, yeah. There's not as much disposable income to go around. People being more picky (understandably) with which games they spend on.
Re: Even with PS5 Ports, Many of Xbox's Games Have Been Underperfoming
@Balosi Says they underperfomed in terms of engagement on Game Pass as well.
Re: Turn-Based RPG Final Fantasy Resonance Is Not a Port or Remake of Shuttered Gacha Game
@BoredOfEverything Chocobo GP? It's not that great really.
Re: Out in Late October, Phantom Blade Zero Dev Doesn't Care How Close It Is to GTA 6
Loving the balls on them.

Re: Fascinating PS5 Sales Estimates Peg Ghost of Yotei as a Triumph
@INeedGoodGraphics It sold best by a mile on PC (but it hasn't done particularly great there either).
Re: Round Up: Stranger Than Heaven Makes a Strong Impression with Its Unique Melee Combat
Pretty excited for this. That GamesRadar preview is a bit more down-to-earth, but I trust RGG to deliver.
Re: PS5's God of War Laufey Dominated Summer Game Fest
@psmr I think inherently there's just less to talk about with Wolverine. It looks good; it looks like a Wolverine game. It's not really a "surprise".
Re: PS5 Fans Think Sony Is Pushing God of War Laufey Harder Than Wolverine
@Deadhunter You beat me by about 30 seconds haha.
Re: PS5 Fans Think Sony Is Pushing God of War Laufey Harder Than Wolverine
I can kinda see this, but at the same time I think Laufey needs more context and explanation than Wolverine, which is probably why.
Re: Xbox Planning Major Layoffs Next Month, Could Involve a Studio Closure
@DadJKP Just not true though is it?
Re: Xbox Planning Major Layoffs Next Month, Could Involve a Studio Closure
@StylesT @Weebleman Xbox, the publisher, announced multiple new games for PS5 during its Showcase on Sunday.
It houses two giant third-party publishers in Activision and Bethesda.
Any changes to its business, be it studio closures, layoffs, or strategy alterations, inherently affects PlayStation and Nintendo as well.
It’s just the way it is.
Re: Xbox Planning Major Layoffs Next Month, Could Involve a Studio Closure
@SMJ Not sure which comment you’re referring to. We have a moderator; you can use our contact form if there’s an issue.
Re: Xbox Planning Major Layoffs Next Month, Could Involve a Studio Closure
@Norkren Sucks doesn't it
Re: Xbox Planning Major Layoffs Next Month, Could Involve a Studio Closure
@AhmadSumadi Oh it was fantastic for consumers, no doubt about it.
Just didn't ever seem feasible without Microsoft's deep pockets footing the bill.
Re: Xbox Planning Major Layoffs Next Month, Could Involve a Studio Closure
@ElectricWizard Unfortunately, I thought much the same.
Re: Xbox Planning Major Layoffs Next Month, Could Involve Studio Closures
The margins are insane, but I've been saying from the start, they gaslit everyone with the "Game Pass is sustainable" stuff.
It's been clear as day they were just setting fire to money behind the scenes.
Not saying that's the only problem here, of course not, but it's definitely a part of it.
Re: Xbox Planning Major Layoffs Next Month, Could Involve Studio Closures
@UnfishedPlate29 Basically, yes.
Re: Xbox Planning Major Layoffs Next Month, Could Involve Studio Closures
Extraordinary stuff really. A tough few weeks ahead for anyone within Xbox who has to wait three weeks now to see if the axe is going to fall.
Re: Fable PS5's Innovative Life Sim Loop Has Me Smitten
@ATaco Yeah it's definitely the weakest aspect of the game. But the environments are gorgeous.

I might check this out actually.
Re: Oxygen Levels, Shoe Types, Cigarette Butts: GTA 6's Most Unhinged Fan Is Investigating Rockstar

@WhoderMan Might be too early to know for sure, but no disclaimers on the retail box art that I've seen so far.
Re: Fable PS5's Innovative Life Sim Loop Has Me Smitten
@TheDarts I guess so, but it's not really that violent at all so I don't get it. We post WAY more violent stuff on here without issue lol.
