This is all speculation as no one has (or will ever) confirm either way, but my guess is they'd just be scared of potential backlash, boycotts, and maybe even intervention.

It sucks because v4.0 is probably not going to be very good now, even though the team is likely crunching 24 hours a day to rework it.

@SuperYlvis You have to remember we were in an unprecedented global pandemic at the time and semi conductors were in short supply as many factories closed temporarily.

I think we have to cut them some slack in this scenario.

I think Sony doesn’t really get enough credit for navigating so many different hurdles this gen.

They went from launching in a pandemic, to semi conductor shortages, to hardware prices going through the roof, to tariffs, to now RAM prices going through the roof.

But they’re still so strong, and that’s not an accident or good luck

@djlard I really don't see how people are saying this is "AI as hell". I'm not saying it's not AI, to be clear, I imagine it probably is. But this does not have all the telltale signs of AI I see on Twitter, etc.

Maybe I'm dumb but like I said before, this really does look like something Ys Net would make.

@LazyDaisy To be fair, though, Shenmue 3 was stiff. This looks exactly like what I'd expect Ys Net to make, that's why I'm so confused.

Also the narrative development is crazy. That's some fan fiction if someone put this together with prompts...

Some aspects do look off for sure, but then look at Shenmue 3. It's a scrappy, cheap game with tons of weirdness in it, so...

This game looks absolutely incredible. I also enjoy the blend of martial arts and magic.

They’ve been updating the game for free since launch, and this seems like a robust expansion.

Ultimately, this entire teaser is designed to generate speculation. Naturally people are going to try and guess what it is, as that's the whole point.

I guess the only real problem is that people build up unrealistic expectations.

@SteveJaye Slightly different vibe to RDR2, the original game feels like it stepped straight out of that Vice City/San Andreas era of design/gameplay.

But that's definitely not a bad thing. You'll have an absolute blast with this!

Excited for this, but I wish they'd give Bully this kind of treatment...

All I ask is updated controls, 60fps, and better checkpointing.

I also don't really see how it's safe, the design is actually quite complicated and elaborate on this one.

Also, the asymmetrical nature of the design confirms HoYoverse's involvement.

@Reyzore It's pretty complete and doesn't hint at DLC as far as I can tell, but I'll be surprised if they don't add new characters/modes later.

The game does have crossplay across consoles/PC, I believe yes.

Really enjoyed the event. Not had much time for the new season just yet but map seems very colourful at least.
