I think it's just people on the Internet have got really negative and you hear those opinions louder than positive ones.
I can kinda see how the longer development times does play into this a bit, but it feels like some people are just never satisfied with anything anymore.
@DualWielding I think it's doing fine looking at social media engagement. They've always had big booths at the conventions I've been to this year, including Gamescom and TGS.
@KawakiisaFraud You just need to accept that the industry has changed and it will never be like how it was on PS2 or PS3 ever again.
If you don't like it then go elsewhere.
I know it seems cold but it really is as simple as that. The days of games being locked to a single platform, outside of perhaps Nintendo stuff, are long over now.
Personally I think this looks pretty good but surely Destiny 2's biggest problem is that, no matter how good it looks, anyone who's not deeply ingrained in the game already knows it's not for them because it's impenetrable these days.
Surely they should be working on finding a way to get new players involved with the game again?
@Dom_31 Nope, Sony didn't really support it with first-party content at all, outside of Horizon Call of the Mountain and GT7. (Both of which are excellent).
But it's got pretty decent support from third-parties and there's still a lot to play on it.
@Dom_31 Could change during development but the style of gameplay and character switching in the trailer makes me believe right now they're planning gacha for this.
@sanderson72 The reality is they’re losing money on it. Locking the language stops those consoles from getting exported to places like China where they’re in demand for other reasons.
Nishino seems willing to take the losses to keep PS5 relevant in Japan, which is the main takeaway here. Past PlayStation management didn’t care.
@MasterChiefWiggum Because part of the campaign is brand marketing. It’s more about creating a sense of adventure and evoking the type of experience you can find on PS5.
They can then use the other half of the campaign to focus specifically on games.
@LogicStrikesAgain I think it's this. While I wouldn't be surprised if this ended up on console if it's popular, I think like you say there's going to be different expectations for a console game.
And clearly Guerrilla is making its own online thing which they probably want to prioritise on PS5.
Perhaps they would have been better off announcing both projects at the same time to avoid this "controversy".

@Jammer The source article says they expect the time limit to return. Could change of course.

Re: Arknights: Endfield to Offer 50-60 Hours of Action in Its PS5 Technical Test
@Fluberuper I mean those games are extremely popular on PC. Just depends how they map it to the DualSense.
An acquired taste though I suppose.

Man, Fortnite is just so cool!
Love the animation in the teaser trailer.

Re: PS Plus Essential Games for December 2025 Announced
Man what a great lineup. Pretty cool they did an extended one for Xmas.
I will try Synduality as I kinda liked it when I played it at TGS a few years ago.
Also wanna try The Outlast Trials and I've heard good things about Neon White.
I already own LEGO Horizon but didn't play it through yet.

@johncalmc You're not the only one to notice this lol
Re: Open World Dress-Up Game Infinity Nikki's Biggest Ever PS5 Update Is Out Now
@rjejr Yeah, these .0 updates in gacha games tend to be like "sequels" in a traditional sense.
Like you say, there's a huge amount of new content here.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Re: Stellar Blade Dev's Ambitious New Cross-Platform Project to Be Published by Tencent Subsidiary
@UltimateOtaku91 My guess is it'll be like Genshin Impact.
Re: In Destiny 2's Darkest Moment, Bungie Is Betting on Star Wars to Bring Players Back
@nessisonett It's fully licensed. LucasFilm worked on this as well.
It's just instead of throwing in Han Solo and Darth Vader, they've tried to blend Star Wars with Destiny so it's like its own lore.

Re: Sony Poised to Publish PS5 Hit Death Stranding 2 on PC
@TrollOfWar They'll probably just publish it themselves like Helldivers 2 if it's in the contract with Kojima.
I'm not sure how much of an audience there's going to be on Xbox by the time that happens though.

Re: Open World Dress-Up Game Infinity Nikki Embraces Adventure in Its Biggest Ever PS5 Update
@Jammer They wouldn't be able to do these constant updates without the gacha. You would have got a much smaller, completely different game.
Re: Another PS Plus Extra Game for December 2025 Announced
@Jey887 It's very good value for money, definitely!
Re: Open World Dress-Up Game Infinity Nikki Embraces Adventure in Its Biggest Ever PS5 Update
@Jammer You have to understand what they would have released would have been completely different if they did that.
Re: Genshin Impact Buffs Some of Its Oldest Characters in Upcoming PS5 Update
@UltimateOtaku91 I've kinda paused Genshin until they add story skip. I just cannot with the endless chatter anymore.
If they let me skip with a summary like in Wuthering Waves I'll get back to it lol.
Re: 'Terrible' Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 European Sales Are a Devastating 63% Below Battlefield 6
@AdamNovice I think Hogwarts Legacy beat that year’s CoD. And obviously GTA 5 and Red Dead 2 beat it.
But it’s a mostly unprecedented situation.
Assuming it can’t catch up to BF6 it’ll be two years in a row not being best seller as GTA 6 will comfortably beat it next year.
Re: 'Terrible' Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 European Sales Are a Devastating 63% Below Battlefield 6
@AhmadSumadi One thing I've noticed that I think is affecting Call of Duty a little bit is they lost Sony's marketing.
As part of their marketing deal, Sony basically used to advertise Call of Duty as a first-party game. It was everywhere.
This year Sony spent its marketing dollars on Battlefield 6 instead. Presumably next year it'll use that money on GTA 6.

Re: New Report Finds Almost Half of US Kids Are After In-Game Currency for Christmas
I could see how some V-Bucks or whatever would be a nice "bonus" gift in an Xmas card or whatever.
I feel like it'd be a shame to get that as your "main" gift though lol.
Re: 'Financial Viability Is a Big Deal': Emulation Studio on Why More Retro Games Aren't Coming to PS Plus Premium
@spoonard But that’s not what he’s saying at all. The issue is not the emulation itself.

I personally think it looks good. The actors look decent and the costumes don't look cheap.
I think they're going to need to touch up the backgrounds to make it feel more Hyrule, though.
Re: Embarrassing AI Art Plagues Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Launch
