F**k you Pushsquare but yeah I'm old 😛 well 43 years old. Back in my day Resident Evil didn't have fancy auto saving and parry mechanics but as a huge fan of the original Resident Evil 2, its been great to play a great 28 Years Later game 😉 in Requiem
@Oram77 I can see myself going through it several more times. I played through RE4R about 3 or 4 times in the weeks building up to release. I can't get enough of these games
@lazarus11 run a lot and only engage with enemies when absolutely necessary. That and on my first run, I spent a fair bit of time in the care home after clearing the zombies, just to familiarise myself with the critical path
Resident Evil 9 is so much fun, I'm currently at the RPD after a little over 2 hours going after the speedrun trophy and 20 hours total so far, with no sign of me stopping anytime soon
If you look at his image it shows Steam and PS5 being much closer to each other earlier on, just Steam players dropped it quicker than their console counterparts which leads to the disparity at the end.
Steam concurrent numbers aren't necessarily always fully representative but as the only public facing figures, they can be a useful guide
Given their lack of recent success on PC, it makes sense to ditch the experiment.
As for me as a consumer, I couldn't care less if their games are exclusive or not. The overwhelming majority of what I play on PS5 isn't exclusive anyway
Thoroughly deserved, I finished it yesterday and thought it was great with lots to appreciate for long term fans. It's certainly amongst my favourite entries and the best of the recent new games
Some get hung up on length but I'd rather have the 11 hours it look me be all worthwhile than 70 hours where I'm bored half the time. Not to mention that I'm already replaying it, so that play time number is only going up
Absolutely deserved, picked this up on the Pro and it's stunning, I think I'm just about done with the care centre and it really reminds me of the days of exploring the mansion and RPD. I can't remember the last time my Twitter feed was dominated so much by one game.
I've been gaming with a 5070ti for a while and booting up Resident Evil on my PS5 Pro, the image quality was noticably better than pretty much anything else I've played on console and indistinguishable from my PC.
A combination of PSSR now being a very capable upscaler along with Resident Evil looking amazing.
I now look forward to see what it can do for those problem child UE5 games and even cleaning up GT7's RT mode
Resident Evil Requiem and absolutely loving it. It feels like a greatest hits of the series and a great mix of survival horror and Leon's action, alongside being a showpiece for the PS5 Pro
The original Resident Evil was the first game I ever played on the PS1 and its been one of, if not my favourite game series ever since. So yes I preordered this and am a couple of hours in so far and absolutely loving it. Unfortunately I won't get much time over the weekend to play but do have Monday and Tuesday off work
@LiamCroft my understanding is Requiem already uses it and perhaps has a portable mode included (it's a larger install than other platforms) and the general release will be later
@wildcat_kickz it was likely added as part of a recent update but without the ability to turn it on, or is portable with Requiem which is a bigger file on PS5 vs Xbox
I knew it, DF virtually gave the game away yesterday and also starting Resident Evil this morning it's immediately noticable how good the image quality is on the Pro's RT mode, more so than pretty much any other game I've played on console, especially with such RT features
Generally speaking the best use of my PS5 Pro has been for Resident Evil games, the RT modes of the remakes are flawless on it and RE4 is noticeably sharper.
That said, this looks like being the biggest Pro upgrade I've seen and a true showcase title
Ar this point, I think a weaker second half is almost like a Resident Evil tradition. It's my favourite game series but I can't think of one entry where the latter part isn't the weakest (though usually still very good)
I'm very much looking forward to playing this on Friday and it looks phenomenal from what I've seen so far, even if I wish there was a bit more of the survival horror side
This is why these people should just get on with their job and not immediately come out and try to please the crowd.
The reality is that they'll never go back to being exclusive only, as costs are far too high these days and they simply don't have the player base anymore. It's not like they can suddenly produce millions of new consoles at a reasonable price in the current market to rapidly expand that, not that the demand is even there
I'm replaying Resident Evil 4 remake to get back into the swing of things for next week. Despite playing through RE1/2 and 3 multiple times, I've only gone through this remake once and I'm enjoying it even more than I remember
Well designed tracks will always be superior to open world racing and as a fan of arcade racing games and Burnout (before Paradise) this looks right up my street
@get2sammyb I'm certainly not sticking up for him but I think Sony are in a weird position of their own customer base have changed somewhat. You could argue that Sony's last huge single player release that they're known for is Spider-Man 2 nearly 3 years ago (we'll see where Ghost of Yotei lands), yet console sales have remained high, in fact they remain on par with PS4 which most people agree had the better lineup. The universally praised (and rather excellent) Astro Bot sold quite poorly by comparison to their other games as did Bluepoints own Demon's Souls. All whilst Square has regularly bemoaned the lack of sales for its big Final Fantasy games
Now I'm in no way saying these games shouldn't be made (certainly not shutting the studios down) but they're probably getting harder to justify to shareholders whilst games like Helldivers 2 goes huge and the PS store makes much of its money from other people's microtransactions
I said this from the start (not the 10 year part) but this was never just about PC RAM and that it would ultimately effect most if not all consumer electronics. All so a few mega rich people and companies can force feed AI to the masses whilst lining their own pockets further
@Nem I've played both quite a lot and outside of them being set in space they have little in common. Starfield is very much a Bethesda RPG first and foremost with some space travel/combat on the side
I'm not sure why people were expecting a 2.0 update to make the game dramatically different, even that Star Wars "overhaul" mod doesn't really change the game in any meaningful way.
I enjoyed Starfield, it has some great quests and locations, though it can be a bit of a slog to get to its best content
@themaladroit as someone who has played Starfield, the combat is better than Fallout but it is quite a while before you get the best powers/abilities in the game. It certainly has better side quests but exploration can be quite disjointed due to the locations being scattered far and wide. There are some great locations to be found and I had fun exploring but its not for everyone.
Also I feel the No Man's Sky comparisons are meaningless as they are 2 very different kinds of game
Definitely not, by all means update it somewhat if needs be but keep that style of gameplay overall. They should look and feel different to the Norse era games and it makes sense for the character
They should add a VR mode with a simulated CRT and gun, I've played it this exact way on PCVR and its brilliant. I've tried gyro controls on multiple games and never found them to be particularly satisfying, its just a shame that no console maker has licenced something such as the Sinden Lightgun, or other modern lightgun solutions
@themightyant exactly, in what world is unlocking extra characters anywhere near the same as having to unlock an advertised 2 player mode.
If I bought a 2 player game for the purpose of playing it that way, only to find out that I couldn't until I'd played by myself for however many hours, I would absolutely request a refund
Earning secret characters and a 2 player mode are 2 very different things. I didn't have to play through Toejam and Earl, Streets of Rage or Sonic 2 to unlock 2 player modes.
If you're selling a game as 2 players, then it should be exactly that
I've been banging this drum for a while, especially with Xbox's play day one (though in reality day 3 or 5) on Gamepass. People need to stop calling it early access as well, that is something different and at the end of the day, the first day a game can be bought and played is it's release date, no matter how publishers want to dress it up
I caught up with it this morning and it was great, Konami has fully woken up from its slumber, with Castlevania and another Silent Hill spinoff, RE9 showed a few more glimpses of what's to come, Star Wars Racer looked good, I'm happy to see Dead or Alive back, God of War. A brilliant show
Finally Castlevania has returned and Konami seemingly fully awoken from its slumber. A bit of a shame it's a Metroidvania, I really miss the level based approach but I'll still be playing
I quite enjoyed playing this when it came out on PC so I'm curious about this 2.0 update. The Watchtower dlc/creation already added much to the game to make it more interesting and whilst it does have some annoyances, there are some great quests and locations
@RBMango same, I was never a big fan of them but his voice is a huge part of my childhood and god knows how many times I watched Thomas. These days I wonder how the Fat Controller kept his job, trains were regularly getting derailed and he always blamed them for it, even bricking up Henry in the tunnel when he broke down 😂

Resident Evil Requiem, which is now my favourite new (non remake) entry since the original RE4 back on Gamecube and in my top 5 of the series
