Well yeah, we already knew the patch did absolutely nothing on PC, so it was never going to magically change anything on PS5. Can we just stop putting old games in a UE5 frock and just remaster them properly in future

Just finishing off Donkey Kong Bananza, I've done the main story and post game quest, so just mopping up the rest of the Banana's. This game is amazing and has one of, if not the best end sequence I've seen in a game which i won't spoil here.

Once I'm done with that, it'll be back to finishing Death Stranding 2

If they made a trackball controller for this, then I'd buy it but yeah, i cant play these games without one

It'd be awesome to see these on PS5, Second Son/First Light wouldn't need much work doing but the first 2 could certainly do with some care and attention. They don't have to go to the levels of The Last of Us remakes and give the job to someone like Bluepoint to keep Sucker Punch free for new games

RoboCop Rogue City was my favourite game of 2023, so I've been very much looking forward to this, though it'll have to wait as I'm still playing Death Stranding and Donkey Kong just came out as well.

@ShogunRok how's the performance of this? It could get pretty rough at times even on the Pro, though I'd imagine that the focus on being indoors should help. Oh and is ED 209 fun to play as?

@get2sammyb yeah I'd have much rather seen Sega simply focus on their own IP, rather than Spongebob and Turtles, both of which are decades beyond their own peak anyway. This still looks really good but certainly lacking in that area vs Transformed.

The customisation looks cool but somewhat wasted on me, who'll just pick something i like and never change it 😅

I can't say there's anything that's going to make me return, especially with RoboCop and Donkey Kong tomorrow. I really enjoyed the game but some car paints and a taxi service aren't that interesting and a shame we still don't have a Pro mode

@DennisReynolds yeah I came to say exactly this, there seems to be no noticeable difference on PC

Just got to Chapter 9 on Death Stranding 2 and really enjoying it. The game is certainly a lot of fun but if I do have a criticism it's that it feels too easy at times and traversal isn’t the challenge it was on the original. Still great though

Thankfully you pointed out the very obvious reason with Nintendo but its very clear that Xbox hardware is heading in only one direction, which in turn tells us why they're effectively just becoming a 3rd party publisher

The more I play this, the more I realise I much prefer the original game as all of the hardship of the journey has been removed. Case in point, I've just made my first delivery on that big snowy mountain and I remember on DS1 it being a tough journey up it's mountain and it feels rewarding when you get there but on this, it was basically a 5 minute bike ride, you can even just drive through where the BT's are, as they can't keep hold of you.

I can't even remember the last time I needed any tools such as ladders etc as you can quite easily drive everywhere.

Overall I'm still enjoying it and think it's a good game but to me it's lost what made it such a unique experience

Sadly it's gone out with a whimper and a mediocre entry. It was once a great series and perhaps should have had one more shot but it's clear that Forza Horizon had long since superseded it on Xbox.

Xbox really is just a sticker these days, even on their own platform with Halo floundering, Forza Motorsport gone, Rare directionless and their only recent successes are just IP and publishers they bought and would have existed anyway

Then I saw it was a mobile game and all my interest disappeared

This game and studio won't have any kind of redemption arc whilst peddling nonsense about saboteurs. Simple fact is they built a broken game and took people's money for it knowing full well it wasn't fit for purpose

@MrPeanutbutterz are bundled games with Playstation consoles on disc? Do their collectors editions have discs? Can you buy PS5 discs that are just essentially download keys?

Nintendo launched an option for publishers who before either had required downloads or just put a code in a box anyway, so nothing has really changed.

Nintendo put their games complete on cartridges, Playstation put their games complete on disc. It's 3rd party publishers (and Xbox) who choose not to respect physical media and them alone

@PuppetMaster what are Nintendo doing? they release all their games fully on a cartridge and they are the only platform where you can still play games directly from the physical media

@Toot1st well of course revenue is up, if you spend billions on other businesses to include theirs, I'd be stunned if it didn't go up

Xbox are a shambles at the moment under Phil, from collapsing console and game sales, to laying off staff in their thousands all whilst their master plan is simply to put an Xbox sticker on everything to claim its their's. Whilst their only "growth" under Phil has been to spend billions on other publishers to inflate their user numbers and revenue

To me PS Plus is just a forced extra payment for features that are free on Steam, or cloud saves that are free on Xbox.

It baffles me why we still have this pay wall for online gaming when the f2p online games are exempt. So if you pay for a game, you have to pay again to play online but of it was free then playing online is free, how does that make any sense?

Ultimately I can count on one hand the amount of games I've discovered with PS Plus and its main use has been discounts. I'm not currently subscribed and likely won't resub again

I've played for 20 odd hours and my Pro has been quiet as a mouse

@get2sammyb I played these a lot back then on the Dreamcast and I'd love to at least see them get similar treatment to how play Sonic Adventure plays on Steam with mods. As for a full on remake, I'd much rather have a sequel to Frontiers, a game i thoroughly enjoyed. Luckily I still have my Dreamcast and the Sonic Adventure games, so can play them whenever I like

I'm actually at Oulton Park today taking my son to watch some racing cars and getting lost in a sea of Porsche and Ferrari's whilst we wait for it to start

When I get back it'll be more Death Stranding 2, I loved the first game and the sequel has improved everything including the pacing and with really doubled down on the world being an obstacle with stuff like the flash floods. I'm right at the end of Chapter 3 and don't see myself playing much else until its done

So what? I'm baffled as to why Xbox fans are celebrating that the brand is becoming little more than a glorified desktop shortcut.

Forget Playstation for a second, why as a PC gamer would I ever open the vastly inferior Xbox app to play my Steam games? Its just not going to happen 😂

Amongst my most wanted games for the rest of the year, so much so that I've got the collectors edition preordered on Amazon

Erm, just buy a disc drive then or the PS5 model with one included. Sure, Sony are clearly trying to encourage their players to be digital only but you can quite clearly buy every major release physically.

I'm still a mixture of both physical and digital but tens to buy more physical games on the Switch 1/2 as they're the only ones which still play directly from them but I wouldn't say Sony is forcing me to buy digitally

Picked it up on Tuesday and have played about 10 hours now and coming to the end of chapter 3. I got the platinum for the first game and the sequel is everything I could have hoped for and more so far.

I can well see this becoming my favourite game of the generation, so excuse me whilst I go back to walking in the rain listening to "Raindrops Keep Fallin' on My Head"

All this whilst they're planning to have their upcoming hardware having other stores on, thus losing more revenue from their flagging console sales. I feel that Xbox employees are on a rocky road for the foreseeable future sadly

Started this yesterday and apart from being an amazing game, it really is a technical showpiece for what the PS5 is really capable of, as well as showing that we really don't need more powerful hardware anytime soon

@themightyant I will say that these days I'm more picky about what I play and don't have the time for many new games, so my worst of, is probably out of about 20 or so games, but for me it was the weakest out of those

Its been useful for my son to have a few more games to play but I couldn't tell you the last game I played on the service, I don't even look at the announcements anymore.

These days I've only really got time to play the games I buy, take now for instance, I've just got the Switch 2 and started Death Stranding 2 yesterday and with Donkey Kong in 3 weeks, that's basically me done for the summer

@get2sammyb it just felt like i wasn't doing anything a lot of the time, with the environments feeling really empty. I don't even mind a walking simulator, as I played Still Wakes The Deep straight after and loved it.

Ironically I felt Hellblade 2 was at its weakest when trying to be a game, the combat feels really scripted to me and the "puzzles" were largely stand in the right place to match up the lights

Tried it on Gamepass and it might be the worst game I've played this generation, it was certainly the worst I played last year

This isn't Microsoft dipping rheir toe into VR, it's just them continuing their push of slapping an Xbox logo on someone elses product and contributing nothing. You've been able to stream Xbox games to the Quest for a while so there is nothing new here and it isn't even cheaper than buying the stuff separately. Of all the uses i have for my Quest, streaming Xbox games via the cloud is at the very bottom of that list

I still think its a brilliant game with a great story for the most part, my only real complaint is that it doesn't know when to end and should have done so with Abby and Lev out exploring together.

Other than that, it looks stunning, has much improved gameplay over the original and I really enjoyed both sides of the story

I'm a light gun lover and its for that reason that im sadly not excited for this release. I played the demo on Steam and it had all the same problems as the first remake, in that it isn't even built as a lightgun game.

I'll stick to my Sinden and the Dreamcast version

Bungie under major pressure now and I do truly worry for this game and them

I own both and whilst with Switch 1, I always bought big 3rd party games on PS5 without hesitation, now with the improved performance on it, I'll certainly be looking at those Switch 2 versions now. I tried the SF6 demo on it and without having the PS5 version side by side to compare, I'd have been more than fine sticking to the Switch port

Its almost like Sony spent years cultivating a large single player orientated fanbase. Online shooters are obviously incredibly popular, or at least a few are but those tyes of gamers aren't typically the ones who hang around in sites such as this checking out many different kinds of games

I'll never understand why this targeted 30fps in the first place, same with the Crash and Spyro games. Nintendo were out there doing 60fps on the Switch with it's 3D platformers and Mario Kart

I don't think XVI is all that appealing and for the most part is quite dull to look at as well. The 2 FFVII re.akes are much better games, even if they themselves are bloated to justify being individual entries, whilst I platinumed XV and had a great time with.

Very few games released on platforms long after release see great success and Xbox isn't really a platform thats going to have huge sales of anything these days

Having players Mario Kart World and a few Switch 2 upgrades, I can confidently say that its more than capable of "great experiences" on the big screen. Making a great looking (and playing) game isn’t just about throwing more tfolps at it, just look at Mindseye.

Sure, Playstation and Nintendo have different targets and as a gamer I adore them both
