I hope Crysis 4 can resume at some point, I still regularly replay the original and CryEngine needs to be supported by more developers over UE5

It made absolutely no difference to me as every game I have installed is fully playable offline and if it had have affected me, I'd have just played my PC, Switch, Dreamcast or Quest

@B80 yeah I've recently sold my PSVR2, I did really enjoy it and it does have some great games but it's so limited in comparison. The clarity of the pancake lenses and lack of a cable make it more enjoyable to me and I love the mixed reality stuff.

@get2sammyb the other way I look at it, is even if this does become an issue in the distant future, what are the chances that a solution isn't found anyway?

My Dreamcast for example, stopped being sold nearly 25 years ago, it's method of connecting to the Internet is gone, it's servers long since shut down, even the TV's it connects to are gone, yet today I can play Phantasy Star Online on that very console and connected to my new OLED TV and it even gets new games.

That said, the bigger issue is single player games and content that require an online connection needs to go, why is Gran Turismo 7 unplayable offline?

As much as I think its dumb that the disc drive requires an Internet connection to install, let's be honest, this theoretical future where someone has a PS5 digital and a seperate disc drive that hasn't been connected yet and Sony's servers have completely vanished, won't ever exist.

Even if it did, then all the games patches and updates will be gone, leaving many of the games in a state that you wouldn't want to play them anyway

So nothing for me then but I was completely unaffected anyway as all my games worked

Picking up a Quest 3 was one of the best decisions I made, I was tired of missing out on games like Batman and the I Expect You To Die series on PSVR2. Plus with all the stuff I can do with it on PC and the mixed reality games, it's been a great experience

Any new Batman game now needs to be a reboot and forget about the Arkham universe. Kevin is sadly no longer with us and Mark Hamill is no longer the Joker and by the time this releases it'll be around 15 years since Arkham Knight, so there is no need to limit what the story can be

@tatsumi DLSS is irrelevant as its a CPU limit. Don't get me wrong, I average above 60fps but I do see dips below 60 when using presentmon, which shows CPU times close to 20ms at the start of the village section after riding the mount, elsewhere there's some brief spikes

They're not something I'd likely notice without the overlay on but my point is more about my CPU vs what's in the consoles, as they're likely to be hit much harder at those points

I'm really looking forward to this and can see myself spending way too much time with the ship combat, plus you get Daytona USA 2 Battle on the Edge included

Good luck getting a smooth 60fps, my PC with a 5800X3D and 4080 Super drops below 60fps at times throughout the benchmark at 1440p. It seems to be a CPU limitation and the PS5 CPU is far less capable.

If you look at their requirements, they're talking about a Ryzen 5 3600 at 60fps with frame generation

@Darude84 I can tell you that GT7 on PSVR2 is a massive upgrade with the Pro, all the blurriness and ghosting is gone and the image is very sharp. Sadly RE4 and Village don't benefit for PSVR but they do outside of it

@Darude84 depends on the game but a few are noticably better in person and that doesn't always come across well in screenshots or YouTube. The Last of Us Part 2 is significantly sharper as well as running quite a bit above 60fps, FFVII goes from a blurry mess to looking really good.

Overall I'd say its a bigger upgrade than the PS4 Pro was and at times is comparable to the difference between a Series S and X. As PSSR improves, that gap will only widen

@naruball and if memory serves, Horizon Zero Dawn did better than that, it was a bit of a novelty at first and it's been a steady decline ever since

@Medic_alert exactly this, there's nothing in that listing to remotely suggest a PS5 release, given that "multiple platforms" covers Series S/X, PC and likely Steamdeck verification.

But Microsofts recent behaviour means it very well could come to PS5

The reality is that games ported later never sell amazing, regardless of the platform and I'd imagine that a lot of people with gaming PC's probably have a PS5 anyway. We've seen from Helldivers, that good simultaneous releases can have great success on PC, I just don't see late ports and buggy ones at that having any real impact

I'd be delighted if it was or at the least a seperate app, it's really annoying in GTAV that the story isn't the default selection alongside wasting lots of storage on a mode I'll never play

I already own it on PC, so the main reason would be to play multiplayer with my 8 year old boy, (with my PC at the back of the living room we can play online together whilst in the same room).

So yeah if I can get it cheap, as he loves playing it by himself as well

If you've not played it, I can highly recommend it, just don't compare it to GT7 as they're nothing alike. This is just a very fun open world arcade racing game which is only bettered by its own predecessor in the genre

Forza Horizon 4 was better but this is still a great arcade racing game, one which me and my boy spent hours playing together

No offence but he doesn't seem to know what he's talking about, if it's GPU limited then today's graphics cards can easily more than double the console performance. RDR2 could run at 60fps on PS5 and Series X if Rockstar could be bothered to patch it.

If this is 30fps, then it's more likely a CPU limitation than GPU and that would make me seriously consider just waiting for the PC version as 30fps just looks awful to me now

Finally a sensible outcome, incentivise people to sign up rather than forcing them into needless accounts

I've still got my Dreamcast copy and play it from time to time, that and MSR were (still are) great fun. I'm gonna pick this up on Steam but I'd love to see it on console too, we need more of these racing games

These days both of them are just low to mid range PC's and without them costing an absolute fortune, they will remain that way. No future Xbox is going to sell in significant numbers if they put all their games on Playstation and I don't see how it can be significantly more powerful than whatever a PS6 is either.

Due to their strategy, I've long since sold my Series X, which was actually a good console with some nice features and simply upgraded my PC instead. Now I can play all their games in much higher quality on PC or if I want that console experience, play them on the PS5 Pro

I'd imagine the movie would have contributed to it's success but more importantly, they made a great 3D Sonic (well Shadow) game, easily one of my favourites from last year

Epic haven't even made a dent in the PC space and that's when many of its users will know who Epic are. On mobile, your average Candy Crush player will likely have never even heard of them, so the chances of them going on the play store to download another store to play the same free to play games, seems rather slim

This is what I want from Doom, not jumping around and dashing like Eternal. Just lots of guns and lots of enemies to shoot. There is no game this year that I'm more excited for

If they made a Terminator level or mode then I'd find it exciting, as a skin I just couldn't care less

I wouldn't quite put it up there with Mario's best and I'd actually say Resuce Mission is the better Astro Bot game overall. Still rather than compare, I'd just say Astro Bot is a great 3D platformer and hopefully we'll get more

Absolutely not and whilst it's possible the GTA6 could still sell well at that price point, there is no chance whatsoever, that other games would be able to be successful at that price point

Compete in what sense? in terms of power it looks to be in and around a PS4, albeit with newer architecture and potentially DLSS. Ultimately though this will forge it's own path away from Playstation as Nintendo have done for a very long time.

And let's be honest, that new Mario Kart will easily outsell anything Sony puts out on PS5

I don't have any gaming subscriptions at the moment as I find the majority of the games I want to play aren't even on them. If anything I'm getting rid of subscriptions and only have Netflix because it's basically free with my mobile contract and Virgin Media

So Rocksteady not only made a terrible game but they also retconned it's entire plot in the laziest way possible, bravo.

Thankfully there has been an actual great Batman Arkham game recently, just a shame it's only on the Quest

It's a brilliant game with high replay value and I'm really looking forward to its PSVR2 mode

I turned it off as soon as I realised it was doing it, that mysterious "other" taking up storage is bad enough without clips I'll never look back on also taking up space

I've redeemed some points for store credit but by and large I forget it even exists. The odd time I do remember, it's usually for buying/playing games that I have no interest in or have just bought and I don't get the points as you have to activate it first

As always this is a ridiculous comparison, comparing physical sales to the total of the industry which includes mobile and PC and even on consoles own stores, where there are tons of digital only games.

For big single player releases on Playstation and even more so on Nintendo, the physical/digital split is much closer and often favours physical

This just tells me there are far too many awards available these days. Astro Bot is certainly a great game, not amongst the very best 3D platformers but a must for fans of the genre

Until PC can truly offer the simplicity of the plug and play nature of console, there will always be a market for them. Personally I'm happy bouncing between Nintendo, Playstation, PC and VR with PSVR2/Quest 3 and will buy any Playstation 6 when it comes.

Xbox haven't been failing in the console space because they were putting all their games on PC. They put all their games on PC because they had already messed up their console business

A great remake that's both faithful to the original and it's own thing and one of the best games on PSVR2 as well

If it wasn't for the background I'd never look at it, the first thing I did was disable as much of it as I could leaving just the storage and battery displays. All it really does, is remind me that I'd like to be able to customise all of my home screen and not just a tab I spend no time on.
