Re: PS3's Store Has Been Restored, After Fans Feared the Worst

@MrHabushi
I will quote myself in response: “ If it’s not making money (i.e. net profit), it’s time to move on, both for the company and players.”
Not sure what you mean by “leave business to the businesses”, but as an investor I want companies run as efficiently as possible.

Re: PS3's Store Has Been Broken for a Day, Forcing Fans to Fear the Worst

Honestly hope they shut it down. If it’s not making money (i.e. net profit), it’s time to move on, both for the company and players. My only expectation would be that they leave any licenses purchased in PS store active. Then again, probably every ps3 owner agreed without reading that Sony has the right to revoke said licenses (you don’t actually own digital games like you do physical ones) if certain requirements are met.

Re: PS Now's Price Drop Even Convinced Sony's Shuhei Yoshida to Sign Up

@KeanuReaves
My mistake. It was the 3 month subscription that was around 6000 yen here before, I incorrectly remembered that that was for 12 months. Consumption tax just got increased here a bit at the beginning in October. I assumed Sony took advantage of that and spiked the prices at the same time.
Good catch. Thank you.

Re: Days Gone Patch 1.05 Improves Performance and Squashes Bugs

I’ve unfortunately been experiencing the binocular / stone glitch often. 1.05 didn’t fix it for me. Quite annoying that the only way to fix it at the moment is to completely restart the game.
Other than that I’ve been having a great time so far. Didn't feel any repititveness either. I was really afraid that it’s gonna be like Far Cry games. Then again I’m only at the point (no spoiler) where I meet a certain female biker and still have to see what the game brings going forward.

Re: PS5 Will Offer 'PS Plus Premium', Says Nonsensical Rumour

blourf

I could see Sony looking for the possibility to launch a service that allows private servers. The rest of the PS Plus Premium stuff I cant say anything about.

Sony could decide the launch (March or November) depending on when certain launch games will be ready. Is the possibility that weird?

TLOU2 as a launch title makes sense. Naughty Dog is probably preparing both versions simultaneously anyways.

Wonder if Cyberpunk 2077 will be the same.

Re: Vane - Exploration Has Never Been Less Fun

In today’s world, where games with 10 hours of good content are stretched into 100 hour “open world adventures”, one should be grateful for a game that basically offers “hours of fun” within a few minutes.

Re: Spider-Man PS4 Stock Running Out in Japan

@Flaming_Kaiser
Unlike you I have been living in Japan for over 15 years and know for a fact that players here have to pay higher prices for both Western games and Japanese games in most cases. So get of your high horse and look at the facts. Even though I can afford paying full prices for games, I still find it unfair that gamers in the West, especially in the US can enjoy a lot more and better deals on games than Japanese consumers. Making gamers here pay $80 for games that are “fully priced” at $60 in the US, even if there isn’t a mark up for Japanese translation cost, shows the stance of Sony and all other publishers you’re trying to defend. I’m not asking for free games, I expect equal treatment. Add that to your SJW juice.

Re: Spider-Man PS4 Stock Running Out in Japan

@Enuo
Games are usually overpriced here compared to other regions. Until recently there hadn’t been any noteworthy discounts / sales campaigns in the Japanese PSN Store either (I.e. the best discounts would just take the price down to current US prices etc.) There is a little more effort nowadays to convince players to spend more, but for now the PS4, and especially its games don’t deserve big sales in Japan. IMO

Re: Soapbox: The Last of Us: Part II Has Plenty to Prove at E3 2018

blourf

Tend to disagree. I love both games, but just because GOW raises the bar in one direction doesn’t mean TLOU2 has to mimic that concept. No need for all games to go in the same direction, they all have their own charm in one way or the other.

I liked the calm sections of TLOU. Just take a breath, have small talk with NPCs, and to actually check out the environment a bit.
