Too Scared to Play Silent Hill F? You Could Consider Reading It Instead

I suppose it depends if it adds anything to the story, if it's just a 100% straight retelling there isn't much point.

Not sure why this isn't mentioned, but the game has already sold over 1M copies! I'm doing my second play through now and yes the combat is janky, but the story is actual S teir, there are some scenes in it, that I will remember for a long long time.

@Oram77 I didn't play a silent hill since the room. Is it very scary or managable?

@Czar_Khastik I am going to say it's manageable, but there are definitely parts that get the heart racing espeically if you use head phones.

@Czar_Khastik it's less scary than Sesame Street, but the story is actually good.

@Dalamar @Oram77 Thanks for the input, guys. I'll play it on headphones, but as long as you say that the story is good, that's more than enough for me. And I'm glad it's not as scary as Elmo and Big Bird.

So whats the problem supoosed to be?

My only real issue, after reviews etc was the low effort they put into the Pro version - if they fix that, then I will likely buy at a later date (though I suspect they are waiting for the new PSSR early next year).

In their review here they mentioned hitching during combat, thinking it was framerate based - DF didn't mention it, but it was evident from watching their video - is it a weird intended effect or just an issue they need to sort?

@Rich33 I actually only had hitching in one section of the game and it happened after the combat had ended. But yeah I can't defend poor performance at all, HOWEVER this game's story is extremely gripping and thought proking and would be done a diservice if watched through youtube. Oh and tip for anyone picking this game up, please play it on combat - story and the puzzles - lost in the fog, as your first play through. this is coming from someone who did it on hard/hard...

Don't know how I feel about the game yet, I'm currently 6 hours in and the atmosphere and visuals are amazing, the story is superb so far as well. But, the combat isn't the greatest and feels more like a souls game which I dont like and then theres the weapon break system which is putting me off. I will stick with the game for now though as I love everything else about the game, just hope it doesn't get too hard.

Are there any recomendations for gaming novelisations? Maybe an article idea Pushsquare. The only one I've ever read is Bioshock: Rapture a few years back. It was okay, a bit of Rand-lite that tied together the first 2 games and gave some interesting backstory on the buliding of Rapture.
