@JJtheTexan After my original comment I checked and a lot of local shops have them. They are a bit cheaper than the better known brands. I guess I did not know the brand because I was never interested in TVs in general.
@DeepSpace5D @Panic_Attache @Weebleman @Judal27 To be honest I was semi joking, I knew those games, even though they are not my cup pf tea. To be fair though one is a remake and the other has a pretty good PS4 version. Don't get me wrong, I like that we are moving away from the exclusivity non sense, it just makes the consoles feel a bit underwhelming sometimes.
@Fluberuper The fans seem to like Chloe but I can't stand her. She has a bad personality and kept randomly dying in the first game lol. I still enjoy the games she is in though. The general story is interesting.
Oh I really enjoyed Double Exposure with the academic setting and whatnot. Also, price is cheaper on Steam for some reason. I will preorder closer to release date
Wow it seems strange but currently DS2 is the only 100% Playstation exclusive, aka a game without a PC version? Unless Sony released something that I missed.
SEGA is not only reluctant to release Master System, Game Gear or Dreamcast games but they even delisted the Mega Drive ones. And it makes no sense locking versions of the games in a mode of another game that its fans may not want.
To be fair they tried to bring back Shinobi, Streets of Rage, House of the Dead and more with modern versions or remakes to a debatable degree of success.
Still, I cannot shake the feeling that SEGA wants to try a subscription service for the back catalogue which I would hate.
Dowloading Horizon now. Steam has a million bundles with cosmetics, items, soundtracks etc. I am trying to force my way in Daybreak 2. It is the most irrelevant game in the series so far. At least Crossbell is not occupied from a bizzare force for the 10th time in the span of 3 years and the goverment does not seem that useless.
@ShogunRok Thanks for getting back to me. I will try to give Daybreak 2 another shot. I don't mind a slow start if I know that there will be some sort of payback.
@ShogunRok I bought Daybreak 2 in release date and gave tried multiple times to go through it but it is so boring. All this world building is seemingly going to waste.
What I understand from the review is that the overall narrative seems to actually go somewhere?
I don't know, I seem to be in the minority but I loved Double Exposure. The campus setting resonated with me and seeing Max was, as mentioned, like seeing a good old friend.
Now the return of Chloe seems to be due to the backlash from a part of the community. I would prefer if they stuck to the original vision but it doesn't really matter. I look forward to returning to campus.
I liked in Double Exposure where they treated both endings of the original game as canon. Now the canon ending seems to be that the town was destroyed and this is my least favourite ending.
I agree, exclusives are important. That is why I am currently playing Spiderman 2 and Stellar Blade in my Rog Ally. Oh, wait...
On a more serious tone (somewhat) I have only two PS5 games that do not have PS4 versions and those are FF16 and FF7 Rebirth. I propably wouldn't even buy the console back in the day if I would not be a Final Fantasy fan.
@Flaming_Kaiser That is the point. Most Steam games start if you go in their folder and double click the icon, like we did in the 90s. Steam client is just a convenience. Contrary to popular belief a lot of Steam games are actually DRM free. You don't even need online access.
As far as emulation you can add apecific roms or even emualtion station in steam easily. Retrobat and Emudeck are popular options depending on the OS.
I still have my original copy of this game and I love it. I downloaded the new version and the remaster seems spotless, at least up to the second level I managed to play. I would love if you could save and start from whatever stage you want but it is a minor complaint. I really recommend this game to shoot em up fans.
@Flaming_Kaiser That is not entirely true. PC is much better for gaming preservation in the long run. Most Steam games simply run by double clicking the icon regardless of if you are online or not.
To be honest after I got my Steam Deck I slowly stopped buying games for PS5. In fact I have only bought the Final Fantasy games and some of the retro games they released again. It is surely because of the price of the games. There are cases that games were 30€ cheaper. I am definitely interested in the new Steam Machine.
The Steam Deck is one of my favourite pieces of gaming hardware so I am interested is the Steam Machine but in the end of the day it depends on how much ot actually costs. To be honest I haven't touched my Playstation consoles after I beat Final Fantasy Rebirth except for the occasional retro game while in my Steam Deck I beat Silent Hill 2 and F, Metal Gear Solid 3, the newest Atelier, YS and Trails games and more. It boils down to price. PC games are way cheaper plus you can dump and emulate classic systems.
I did not enjoy the kombat in this game like at all. It makes sense if you consider who you are playing as but still... Anyway, now that they added the Casual Mode I may return to try more endings.
@carlos82 Yeah, Virtua Fighter 4 looks and plays phenomenally well in the emulator.
I have already dumped all my PS2 games in the appropriate folders in my Steam Deck for years now. I gave up on Sony actually offering a in house solution.
However, regarding preservation note that some of the games that you enjoyed back in PS2 like Final Fantasy and Metal Gear series have ports in moder systems.
@BAMozzy I couldn't agree more than what you say here, especially about the comparison between the Portal and the new Ally. Moreover, with Portal you have to pay a subscription that may not interested in or might even not be available in your region.
Personally, a couple of days ago I got a used Ally Z1 Extreme, installed Steam OS and I am good to go for years.
In fact most of Sony's games are Steam Deck verified and perform quite well. Sony's gamble kind of worked out in my case. I have played all Horizon, Spiderman and the Last of Us games on my Deck.
Now the "Deck verified" does not mean that the game always perform well. For example The Last of Us part 2 plays very well but Spiderman 2 not that well even though it is now verified.
Sophia was PlayStation maskot for a while. BAT was supposed to be an exclusive rivaling Virtua Fighter but it ended up being ported to the Saturn in the end.
This game quickly aged badly but there is certainly a nostalgia factor. Too bad they may not include the PAL exclusive fourth entry
It is time to protect Gamindustri's piece, again! I had no idea those were coming. Seems that there are ports of the Vita/Steam versions? I have preordered Xillia, Dragon Quest and, of course, Mortal Kombat. Next weekend will be busy!
I firstly played Football Manger in an old crappy PC back in my student days, just when it changed name from Championship Manager. I then bought all the PS Vita ports (wow it feels like a lifetime ago) and spent countless hours there before going to sleep with the 'just one more match' mentality.
I haven't played a game since but I think this year this will be rectified...
@Balaam_ Yeah, but try taking the TV with you. I have to travel a lot and if it wasn't for the Steam Deck I would play way less games. Heck, due to this, if I wasn't a huge Final Fantasy fan I wouldn't even have bought a PS5.
@tameshiyaku No, no no! This Apple Arm nonsense must stay away from both Gaming and Productivity PCs. Arm is simply too underpowered for serious gaming or for serious anything. As for the other stuff you mentioned I agree. The new Ally does not seem to be a generational leap from the first Ally or the Steam Deck. And you cannot really compare it to a PS5 or a gaming PC.
Very cool. Final Fantasy games are the only physical games I still collect. I may get the pack if it is confirmed that all patches, dlc and updates are on the disks.
Thanks for the review. I am waiting for my preload. Hopefully I will enjoy the game more than Yumia. It is not that Yumia is bad but it is "more" open world than it should be with the millions "?" in the world map.
Sony releases Horizon Zero Dawn remake. Community: Why you are re re releasing old games that play well in both PS5 and 4. Sony releases remake of Bloodborne. Community: Yeah!!!!! Bring it on!
Seriously, I have not played Bloodborne in ages but I had the impression that, after the recent patches, the game performance is adequate even on the old PS4.
Europe is a huge region for Sony. That is why they keep increasing the prices on the region! By the way Switch 2 is a bit expensive in Spain and mainland Europe going easily for 500€.

I still have in display the original PSP version limited edition from Ghostlight. Same thing happened last month, even though I have beaten MGS3 more times than I remember I really enjoyed the remake.
There are some things I did not like that much in recent games that I don't want to spoil here but I am afraid the series has become stale as far as the supposed central narrative goes. Let's see if I still have this opinion as I finish Daybreak 2.
@ShogunRok I am currently playing Daybreak 2 so it may be some time till I get to this, I really am feeling the fatigue for this series.
Without spoiling anything is there new story content for us folks that have already played the game? I have played the original version 3 times already, believe it or not.
I am a huge fan of Trails but that said am I the only one that thinks that the series is going nowhere? That said I have not beaten Daybreak 2 yet.
Unless you like in UK or Germany or a big country it is not always true that physical is much cheaper than digital. Also, some titles may be out of stock simply because they do not order a large amount of copies. Silent Hill 2 was 80€ in the PSN store, ~70€ + shipping in local stores but out of stock. It wasn't always like this. I have the collector edition from the original Injustice and the Batman vs Wonder Woman statue is of very high quality. And I pre-ordered it for 90€ or something.

Re: The End of an Era: Sony Spins Off Iconic Television Business
Ok I don't follow the technology on TVs at all. I game and work on PC monitors and I have an old 720 tv for the occasional football match.
That said I cannot be the only one that has never heard of TCL before right?

Re: Here's Why Sony Is Making a Japan-Specific PS5 Console
@Rich33 In the late 90s most TVs supported both formats. The issue was in the console. You had to install a modchip, do swap tricks etc.
Re: Here's Why Sony Is Making a Japan-Specific PS5 Console
Fells like we are back in the 90's where USA games didn't work without modifications in my PAL PlayStation.
So, if in my region PS5 sales drop they will surely make a PS5 that only works with say Italian, Greek or Turkish accounts, right?

Same thing happened last month, even though I have beaten MGS3 more times than I remember I really enjoyed the remake.

Re: Everyone's Talking About How Little Physical PS5 Games Contribute to Sony's Bottom Line
I ended up paying ~50€ from greenmangaming or cdkeys I don't remember and played the game in my Steam Deck.
To be honest if I was not a huge Final Fantasy fan the PS5 would be a bit irrelevant for me with Sony releasing the games firstly in PS4 and then on Steam. I would 100% be on if we had proper physical games but there are a thing of the past with disks that either do not have all the data or need a one day patch making offline play not viable. Last time I was without internet connection I tried to play the PS4 version of the Callisto Protocol and the game played between a slideshow and a goal slow motion replay. I get that getting into PC gaming may be hard but soon Steam OS and Windows 11 for gaming will solve the problem of not being "plug and play". In the end of the day digital is way better for long term game preservation.
Re: The End of the F***ing World's Scribe Signed for Live Action Life Is Strange TV Show

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Metal Gear Solid Delta?
Just beat the game in the Steam Deck yesterday. It is listed as not supported but works out of the box without changing any option better than games that are verified.
Anyway, as far as I am concerned the games is great. I have beaten the PS2 and PS3/Vita port back in the day and this version is the superior option. I went for the "Peace Walker" achievement and had a great time with the game.
That said when The Phantom Pain was announced, in anticipation, I played the whole Metal Gear Saga starting with MSS3, moving to PO, PW, GZ etc. until MGS4. It is funny having Ursula and Paz spoiling the whole Saga. Now the question is, do I fire Portable Ops or wait for the inevitable Vol.2 of the collection?
