@Oram77 Well since I got my PS4 I very rarely subscribe for 1 month to use cloud saves. I don't think I am the only one but occasional users like me wouldn't subscribe to the annual plan even if the monthly price increases like 50%.

Not that I will subscribe again since I hit the limit of cloud saves and I cannot upload any more, lol...

As I mentioned in the other topic in days of raising hardware and software costs it seems that exclusive games are a relic of the console wars era that does not make much sense. To the more people you offer the games the better I think.

On a more practical case I have tried the PC version of the Horizon games, Spiderman games, Stellar Blade and of the Last of Us and they play great. I have also gotten Returnal but haven't tried it yet. It doesn't seem to work on Steam OS.

@Yor-sama In principle I don't disagree but most people don't care about Sony's or, say, Capcom's finances if they don't work there. I know people that cannot afford gaming any more and have moved to buy games on discounts or use cloud services for newer stuff. Having all games in most platforms would lessen this a bit.

@Bob_Tempura No, it is not a visual bug. It literally did not let me to upload more saves. I checked in another PS4, the newest saves were not there. I had to delete some saves from the cloud, only then the upload resumed.

I have only occasionally subscribed for one month just to use cloud saves but it has been almost a year since then. For some reason in the PS5 you can only back up PS4 saves and not PS5 ones via USB. This makes less sense than making online free. I mean they want me to upgrade from my PS4 to my PS5 or from PS5 to the Pro and I cannot take my saves with me.

Edit: by the way there is a hidden limit on the amount of cloud saves you can have that I have exceeded!!!! This is the very definition of non sense. You get punished for buying and playing more games in the platform!

Ok it may be a controversial opinion but it always seemed to me that exclusive games are a thing of the bygone console wars era and in the age of huge hardware costs all games should be playable everywhere so most people could enjoy them.

That said I am not a big fan of any first party games, except maybe retro SEGA due to nostalgia. The game I enjoyed the most was Horizon but the second game destroyed my enthusiasm for the series. Same for Spiderman. I haven't played any first party Microsoft game except a bit of the first Halo.

Even though I would like a new Motorstorm or Siren I can't say that I am a fan of those IPs.

OK, I am semi-trolling but I was wandering if this and only this particular game would have sold well if there was a PC version available day 1.

@get2sammyb The comics app for the PSP never worked in my region. Sony promised that you would eventually able to buy comics in the whole Europe bit they ended up discontinuing the service.

As for this game... I guess I will just pass in the game and watch the motion comic on YouTube. I mean there qas a reason why those type of Story Mode were popular in Mortal Kombat, Injustice, Tekken and other more niche games like Blazblue and Battle for the Grid.

Joking aside I get why they don't want to pay Ferrari for a license but I am OK even if they make an Outrun game with stock cars.

Still, I am "afraid" that they are preparing some sort of subscription thing for their back catalogue. In any case, I am looking forward to the reboots of classical games.

Even though, due to Steam, I mostly buy digital I still have a lot of PS4 physical games but in PS5 I "only" have Final Fantasy and Resident Evil as disk games. I am not sure how "good" are those disks ara (aka will they work in 10 years) and seems like the PC digital versions are better for long term preservation.

The problem though is the issue with physical versions not having the whole game or having bugs. For example there is a bug where, in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, if you play in the 30fps mode the game simply always crashes. There are many more examples.

@Balaam_ As much as I would love to play my old disks in PS5 preservation does not work that way. My ISO back up copy of my disk will always work and never corrode, break or get lost or stolen. If we didn't have digital game preservation via ISO and ROM files a lot of games would be lost media today.

Wait what? There is a game preservation team in Sony? OK I know that this is not fare because when you work in a company there are specific rules but I am sure that fans have done more for gaming preservation.

Just watched it in local cinema. I liked it, I think it is a bit better than the 2021 one and I personally did not enjoy the 1995 movie that much.

In the end credits there is a cool remix of the iconic Mortal Kombat theme, you know the one from the 90s commercial.

I played on Steam when it was initially released. Cool game, in this price I recommend it.

Maybe if there was a day one PC version, it would sell better. PC gamers play more roguelikes.

@Cry_Zero OK I just checked since I has no idea because I only read Spiderman and follow his supporting cast. And I thought the character assassination of MJ with Paul etc. was a bad idea, what they did to Ice Man is way worse. With a quick search seems like fans hate this.

I would personally prefer a new mainline entry, even though the ending of FW left me wanting more.

@DennisReynolds The problem is that Black Cat being bi is new. She was causually revealed as a bi a couple of years back while the character is around for decades. I am all in for representation but not retroactively to established charecters. You could create a new character with her owns traits that is bi.

As a more general comment the depiction of women in some western games is problematic and Mary Jane in Spiderman 2 is an example of it. She has girl boss attitude and acts like an idiot. OG MJ had a capable character even in the 70s.

A lesbian "trope" exists in some Sony games though and Horizon Forbidden West is the worst example. I guess you could choose not having the relationship stuff in the DLC but the in this sci-fi epic I did not except the antagonist having the most cliche notive imaginable.

Very cool game, one of my first PSP games. I played it a lot back in the day.

Sony's response make no sense. Online check sure but when? After 14 days? After a month? And why did this happen in the first place? And why do I keep following this stuff even though I ahve not bought any digital games after the alleged DRM was introduced?

@Uromastryx The problem is video game preservation. Consider in 20 years from now that psn does not exist with Sony being out of business. You find a copy of this game and a functioning PS5. There is no way to play it if psn is offline thus making it lost media. Most people do not care but some, that is why now we have the whole videogame library of console and PC games, up to say PS3 generation, in rom or iso or .exe format ready to be played in anything that you can run an emulator on. A lot of classical games would be not accessibe if not for video game preservation teams.

@Zuljaras This is not new, this is in fact the way that I reduced the physical games I buy, because they don't exist anymore. This makes PC better for long term preservation.

The "play from disk" is very subjective. The Callisto Protocol for example is playable from the disk but the game plays in slow motion if you do not update it! I have 3 different physical versions of Final Fantasy 15 and not one has the full game. Cases like Resident Evil Requim that I have the physical copy that you can play from disk from the start till the end with minimal to no bugs are the exception.

This just sucks. I guess the best from prservation point of view are PC games now where you can have multiple copies on multiple hard drives or do some hacking to bypass rdm on games that have it... What a mess...

Thankfully, I only got physical games on PS4/5 within the last couple of months, excluding PS1 classics which are a bit irrlevant since I could also emulate my original copies on PC or PS3.

I have none of Rai's manuals but I have backed digital versions of all of his books like Vita means Life etc.

I really recommend all of his books.

Wait what, I though the opinion that the narrative and setting of Spiderman 2 are not that good was a hot take. In any case, I agree. The whole plot of Spiderman 2 captures most of the stuff people don't like in modern Spiderman.

Still, the game qas very fan to play though.

@themightyant That's what I thought. There is no option in the Kickstarter for just the digital game for some reason. I guess I will wait for the release.

I am a fan of the series having played all games multiple times. I am pleased that Layton is finally free from Nintendo 's irrelevant hardware. I really didn't want to dig up my Switch to play this game. Hopefully, if the game sells well and the previous games are not owned by Nintendo we could see them in PS5/Xbox/Steam.

I don't like the current PS5 OS it is very bloated. The new one seems to be an improvement.

I still have my original GBA cartridge. Very cool game. I will get the modern version for sure sometime.

RPCS3 is an amazing piece of software. I still fire it up for the occasional ride in Outrun Arcade, one of my favourite games still trapped in PS3.

I have already beaten the game with Dead Chloe, which was my decision in the original game and I now play again the othere scenario.

I know that both Double Exposure and Reunion have this academic setting which is not for everyone but it surely resonated with me and I enjoyed both games. Having Chloe in the second game was a bonus but the setting is what clicked for me in this duology.

I still don't get how people without PhD teach in a university but videogame logic and all...

@PuppetMaster They delisted it for some reason but I think you can stll find steam keys or physical versions for not much money.

I would love if they could the SEGA games in this collection but I guess it would be a nightmare to license them.

I am playing through now and like it this far. That said I liked Double Exposure and the fanbase seemed mixed on it...

I have no interest in the Pro (and to be honest little interest even in the base PS5 now that everything is multiplatform).

However, if you are in the fence even for the base model and you can afford it maybe try to get one. I see them even discounted in some regions.

Ok I guess I am out of touch. I was sure that Ms. Marvel (especially after her unceremoniously death from Paul's father!) and Star Lord were never that popular to have a slot in a fighting game. As for Ms. Parker I have no idea who she is but she definitely reminds me of the Sentai version of Spider Man with the giant Megazord robot.

As for the trailer it seems cool. When I initially saw the trailer I though MJ was flirting with the MCU version of Paul but I guess it is just Flash Thompson!

I haven't played the game yet but I didn't know that PS5 could do ultra wide, cool! That said according to the article stuff was cut due to "storage limitations" which makes no sense in this day and age.

To be honest one of the best things of playing in PC is that you can find good discounts even in preorders in some retailers. This is open ecosystem is one of the appealling points of Helix, if Microsoft doesn't mess it somehow.

In any case you can still find PSN cards in some digital retailers for some regions at a good discount.

I tried to order some of their PS4 Castlevania games. It took ages to ship, to the point where I almost forgot about them. I didn't order anything again since.

To be fair, nostalgia glasses aside, Code Veronica is not the greatest game in the series as far as the story goes. I mean the depiction of mental illness is as basic and cliche as it goes. And one of the characters goes to kiss Claire while she is asleep...
