Atomic Heart PS5

Mundfish, the developer behind Atomic Heart, has achieved so much success off the back of the 2023 game that it has been able to grow into a games publisher.

Across all the platforms it released on, Atomic Heart reached 10 million users. Now, the company is officially launching Mundfish Powerhouse, which is a "boutique creative label built to support ambitious developers and visionary investors in bringing standout projects to market".

Mundfish states the initiative is more than just a publishing arm, as it'll offer "deep production expertise and high-end tools" to those it partners with, as well as "a proven, scalable development pipeline" and also "hands-on support from concept to launch". The firm wishes to focus on "fewer, bigger, bolder games" as it looks to "shake up the industry".

It's already working with partners behind the scenes, and Munfish CEO Robert Bagratuni added: "Powerhouse will only partner with projects where we see great potential to make noise. Not just a handful of indie hits, but big and bold games that can set a new standard for quality and creative risk."

Released for PS5 and PS4 in February 2023, the debut title from Mundfish proved more popular with players than it did with critics. With a Metacritic rating of 70 and a 6/10 score in our Atomic Heart PS5 review, we said: "This mashup of shooter, stealth, and RPG wears its influences proudly but rarely matches them. Its alt-history setting is interesting and there are plenty of ways to approach the robot-killing, but these elements are at odds with messy storytelling and characterisation."
