It's official: Persona 4 Revival is the long-rumoured remake of Persona 4.
Announced during the Xbox Games Showcase, all we've got to go on is a brief reveal trailer that reintroduces the sleepy town of Inaba. There's no sign of a release window yet, so we imagine it'll launch next year at the earliest.
The good news, at least, is that it's been confirmed for PS5 right off the bat. You may remember that Persona 3 Reload was initially made to look like an Xbox console exclusive through specific marketing; that isn't the case this time.

Not a lot to go on from that trailer but if it's releasing next year then I can't see Persona 6 releasing until 2027 😔.
Very much looking forward to this, Persona 4 Golden is my favourite of the series.
It's going to be strange not having some of the same voice actors though.
I hope this one is a truly definitive version with all the Golden content included.
P3 Reload was great but it sucks that fans still have to choose between a version with The Answer (and therefore the true ending) or the Female MC.

Those eight seconds of Persona 4 were the best bit of the showcase. No hint at a release date though.
I personally still think the Vita version is perfect. Some types of games just don't need remakes like this, but I'm glad it exists for those who want it.
It was only a matter of time when they will remake P4 but glad it was finally announced. Not my favorite in the series per say but I did enjoy this back in PS2 days

@Dalamar Given the direction US legislation is going, the game might be outlawed by next year. To be fair, it’s not been that long since Section 28 over here either. Things are massively sliding backwards.
@Flaming_Kaiser That would be a typical Atlus move. They love making their fans pay for the same thing in several versions over a couple years. Generally after insisting there will be no DLC or Royal/Reload edition at the game's launch.
I half expect them to first sell the P3 Reload with Answer DLC all on one disc in 2026, then wait a year and release P3 Reload Platinum with all the above and FemMC.
Btw ppl don't expect the game Early 2026 like p3 reload maybe summer or fall 2026 or early 2027 this look extra rough
I think Rewind sounded better than Revival, but it's just a name. Can't wait to have this game in my collection.
Btw I don't think there will be an updated version of P3R and P4R. I do think those will be the definitive editions.

can't understand the appeal of this game releasing for the 4th time instead of a persona 2 remake. especially after the fan surveys indicated that there was far more interest in a p2 remake above all else. there is so much persona 3/4/5 fatigue right now so it would have been smarter to put out the p2 remake first and give something new to people. vast majority of persona players have never touched p2 due to its lack of availability on any "modern" hardware. even the psp release from 15 years ago was only half complete and merely a slight enhancement of the ps1 release. i sppose i'll keep crying about it until atlus does something.
@Cyphyxia This is Atlus we're talking about. They sold episode Aegis as DLC. So i'm not surprise if somehow they sell Golden / Marie stuff as DLC or new edition. Atlus always found a scummy way to milk out their fanbase.

Persona 4 first released on 2008. Atlus is three years away from 20 years of milking poor P4 dry. They just wheel P4 out every few years like a tired old hooker. XD

@glennthefrog Just let me pay more in one go i totally understand more content means more expensive. This looks cheaper but in the end we all pay more.
