Atlus Says It's 'Actively Preparing' for the Future of Persona as Revival Gets Rough Reception 1

The next Persona game seems like it’s still a long way away, as P-Studio director Kazuhisa Wada has revealed that his team is “actively preparing for the future development of the Persona series as a studio”.

Atlus announced Persona 4 Revival this weekend, the long-rumoured PS5 remake of PS2 classic Persona 4, which found real popularity on the PS Vita as Persona 4 Golden.

But the reception to the reveal hasn’t particularly been warmly met: many have suggested the cold colour tones used in the trailer’s gameplay snippets have ruined the identity of the original, while others have simply noted that development looks extremely early.

Indeed, no release window has been attached to this project, and Wada himself simply said that his team “looks forward to sharing even more information in due time”.

Of course, it’s worth noting that Persona 3 Reload only released last year, so clearly Atlus has been extremely busy behind the scenes. But if Persona 4 Revival doesn’t release in 2026, how long will we have to wait for Persona 6?
