Re: Report: PS5's Price Could Be $50 Cheaper if You Go for the Digital Edition

TurboTom

To be honest, I actually think the difference could be $100/£100. Even though the drive won't cost much, the physical model could get away with the higher price and with the advantage of being backwards compatible with disks too, rather than just digital. And the digital model would let sony still be able to sell for $400 for the base digital model, especially with the rumours of the cheaper xbox lockard thing. But regardless I will be getting the one with physical drive.

Re: Rumour: Alleged Photo of PS5 from Factory Emerges

TurboTom

@ApostateMage
To be honest they do look very short. Personally I think it looks good in this angle, but as someone else said in the comments it doesn't appear to be curvy but maybe it is just the reveal images that make it look more curvy

Re: PS5's Large Size Helps It Stay Cool, PlayStation Confirms

TurboTom

The size doesn't bother me if it stays cool and quiet. However what is bothering me is getting used to the shape. All those curves and uneven angles , I don't think will do My ocd any good 😂 I lm looking forward to see the breakdown of the hardware and see it from different angles.

Re: Can PS5 Go On Its Side?

TurboTom

To be honest, when I first saw the design reveal I was discusted with it 😂 but it doesn't look too bad on its side, and as with the duelsense pad I'm getting used to it. I wonder if the curvy shell is to do with airflow for cooling purpose rather than just to look different?

Re: Can't Download PS4 Games and Updates Error - Why Does Your PS4 Say There's Not Enough Free Space in System Storage?

TurboTom

Slightly off topic, but does anyone know the reason why ps5 has 825GB ssd rather than the standard 1tb like in the pro? Its seems a odd number to have, maybe it is to do with the highly customised design rather than just trying to save a bit of money. I've heard rumours of a 2nd model with double the storage as a option, i would probably get that one myself if there is a option.

Re: Rumour: Bluepoint Games Working on Both Demon's Souls Remake and Bloodborne Remaster for PS5

TurboTom

@Northern_munkey
Maybe certain games make more sence for a remaster, such as bloodbourn with the bad frame pacing or whatever might need redoing etc. But I think what is putting people off is because with the ps5 being backwards compatible, then it doesn't really need it, especially for newer exclusives that have come out in the last couple of years, as they could easily just increase the frame rate, and or resolution with a patch i imagine. But like I said hopefully just certain older titles like bloodboure, but not newer titles such as the last of us 2.

Re: Rumour: Bluepoint Games Working on Both Demon's Souls Remake and Bloodborne Remaster for PS5

TurboTom

I'm starting to feel disappointed and underwhelmed about the ps5 even before the unveiling if I'm honest. I'm not really interested in the souls type games and i think bluepoint doing two of them is a waste, perhaps a metal gear solid remake would be better. There is also a rumour that ps5 is very bulky and ugly looking design too, sorry if i sound very negative but for me the design of the actual console is important as is big exclusives from day one and not lots of remasters ect. I hope I'm proved wrong though and it is a great unveiling.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 326

TurboTom

Just started the last of us remastered today on my pro, to prepare me for part 2 and to see what it is like with ps4 Pro enhancements. I designed to play it at 60 frames as it does seem to look better, i currently only have a 1080p TV anyway but some games look really good with supersampling. Will probably get a new TV around the time of getting ps5. This is actually my third play of the last of us as I already played it twice on ps3 lol

Re: Gears of War 3's PS3 Build Confirmed Real by Epic Games

TurboTom

I'm surprised how bad it is running, however most if not all 3rd party games did seem to run better on the 360, even though ps3 was overall the more powerful console. I have a feeling that next gen the 3rd party games will run similar on both ps5 and series x, maybe even run better on ps5 with ease of development and the fact that unreal engine 5 has been optimised around the ps5, Epic did say they have been working with Sony for a few years on it too.

Re: Dying Light 2 Dev Dismisses Rumours of Buyout, Workplace Problems

TurboTom

There was a guy( I think he is called Tommy fisher or something like that) who claimed to have inside knowledge and he said techland had been bought by Microsoft and that remedy and housemarque had been acquired by Sony. However he also claimed ps5 would be 13 teraflops 😂 and we know now that was wrong. However i do think housemarque should be a studio sony could look into buying if they haven't already.

Re: EA Suggests Its PS4 Games Can Be Upgraded to PS5 for Free

TurboTom

More than likely the ps5 would be having this feature anyway, just not announced yet as with other stuff they are yet to announce. However if for whatever reason Sony wasn't planning such a feature, then with Microsoft doing it then Sony will hopefully too, as the negative pr would be bad. The same thing I think will happen with developers and publishers, if some wasn't planning free upgrades then seeing some developers already confirming it then they will hopefully follow too.

Re: Reaction: DualSense Reveals Sony's Unrivalled Ambition for PS5

TurboTom

As someone with ocd, I'm struggling a bit to get used to the two colour design, it will probably look better in person though. One thing I'm happy about though is the sticks look like they have a grip texture around the edges. I have quite thin fingers and find the ps4 sticks a bit uncomfortable when clicking them in from the edge of the sticks.

Re: PS5 SSD Represents 'Biggest Leap in My Career', Says The Last of Us 2 Co-Game Director

TurboTom

Can someone who understands how it works explain what benefits the fast ssd will have other than faster loading. If the ssd is as good as they say would they have been better having more Ram and bigger GPU too? Or is the narrow fast GPU design better suited to faster ssd? I did watch the mark cerny presentation, but more of it went over my head and I lost concentration a few times, lol

Re: Rumour: PS5 More Powerful Than Xbox Series X, Says Old Leak Given New Life

TurboTom

I hope the specs are right as it matches the gpu speed that was found online. However I did hear on a podcast from someone who claims to have a source that Sony was aiming for 13.3 tflops but due to heating issues they may lower it. I hope the ps5 is more powerful just to see the reaction on certain xbox fanatics. However if aiming for 11-12 tfops would prevent a loud console then i would prefer that.

Re: Sony Wants to Know if You Want PS4 Remote Play on Nintendo Switch, Portable DualShock Controller

TurboTom

Also i must admit when i heard the rumours of ps4 games going to pc i was a bit concerned. However if ps5 games are exclusive then i wouldn't mind so much about older games going to pc. Also maybe if Sony will remote play to the switch then perhaps they will put playststion now on there too, i mean as it is now, as i don't see sony putting games day and date on the service like Microsoft does

Re: Sony Wants to Know if You Want PS4 Remote Play on Nintendo Switch, Portable DualShock Controller

TurboTom

I got a switch lite in September, and to be honest i have not used it much. If remote play goes to switch, it would probably motivate me to use the switch more. Ive never used remote play before, is it something that just works on the same Wi-Fi, or can it be used on the go? For example when i visit my parents who live near can i use it on a different Wi-Fi with my ps4 pro on standby?

Re: Guide: What Time Is Sony's CES 2020 Press Conference?

TurboTom

@thedevilsjester yeah i was thinking something similar myself. Maybe the 9.2 Tflop ps5 could be base model for like 3.99, but the 13 Tflop rumour could actually be the ps5 pro at launch for 4.99 with a bigger ssd or something like that. The original comment i made on this article, i made a similar comment on a n4g article and i got banned? Lol. I was a bit shocked after all the silly comments i have seen on n4g over the years, but maybe they did me a favour, as it can get quite toxic on there anyway

Re: PS5 Devkit Leaks Again with New Images of the Console and Controller

TurboTom

@parvaz1 that information is actually from pastebin last year, i think June. I doubt it is right, but hope it is though. It also says something about it being a dual 36 compute unit Gpu, maybe for backwards compatibilty. Kind of like how ps4 pro is a dual ps4 Gpu. The devkit actually looks like it has two Gpus on either side, lol. I've also heard chiplet design mentiond a few times, but I've no idea what that means to be honest

Re: Guide: When Is Sony's CES 2020 Press Conference?

TurboTom

@InsertUsername i think i prefer to stick to console gaming. Thanks for the advice, will try to stay away from rumours, however i am concerned that the leaked specs could be true, so they can stay at 399. But if so then hopefuly there is a ps5 pro at launch too

Re: Guide: When Is Sony's CES 2020 Press Conference?

TurboTom

To be honest I have lost excitement for the ps5 with all the recent negative low spec leaks. If the ps5 is that underpowered compared to series x then i might just go back to Xbox again this time. I was a big fan of Xbox with the 360, but then my 360 broke for the second time around the time of the ps4/ xbox one reveal. I was going to buy a 360 replacement, but i was so disappointed with the Xbox one reveal that i got a ps3 instead and to catch up on all the ps3 games i had missed. A few years later i got a ps4 followed by a pro. I hope the specs are higher or that Sony do a ps5 pro at launch too. I'm not buying another weak console to upgrade again in a few years if they do the mid gen upgrade thing again

Re: PS5 Specs Leak Sends the Web into a Frenzy

TurboTom

Just a thought, but could it be possibly that the 9.2 Tflops is true, but also the 13 Tflops rumour is true too? Maybe the 9.2 ps5 would be the base model at the same price that ps4 launched at, and the 13 Tflops one could be ps5 pro at launch too, with a premium price. I don't actually believe Sony would do this and is probably just wishful thinking of mine, lol

Re: Microsoft Wants to 'Surprise Sony' with Xbox Scarlett, Devkits are Reportedly Rare and 'Nowhere Near Final'

TurboTom

Personally i think ps5 will have the edge. Microsoft have confirmed than Scarlett will have Gddr6 Ram, but Sony haven't mentiond ram as far as I'm aware. But i heard rumors of ps5 using HBM2/ddr4 Ram. HBM2 is more energy efficient than Gddr6, so would that allow ps5 to clock the Gpu higher? Also people claiming scarlett dev kits are not final, but that could also be the case for ps5 too.
