Earlier today, rumours began to emerge that Bloodborne would be getting a PlayStation 5 remaster along with a PC version to boot. The speculation came from some pretty reliable sources, and in doing so, it appears to have given other outlets the confidence to speak out about what they know.
Youtuber PC Gaming Inquisition is just one example, who states that the PS5 version of Bloodborne is being developed by Bluepoint Games in tandem with QLOC. The latter studio put out Dark Souls Remastered and appears to be aiding work which will see the title attain a 4K resolution and 60 frames per second. The channel goes on to state that the Bloodborne remaster will be coming to both PC and PS5 "soon" and that Demon's Souls Remake will close the PS5 game reveal event which was postponed at the start of this week.
Now, we wouldn't usually report on a YouTube channel that's entirely new to the party with an unproven track record, but what lends this video weight is the fact that the original sources of this rumour are actively reporting on it. Nibel and Wario64 on Twitter teased the release overnight and have now extended their coverage to incorporate the video you see above.
So, just to wrap things up nicely, Bloodborne is getting a PS5 remaster with 4K resolution and 60 frames per second if this speculation is to be believed. That project is also coming to PC, but Demon's Souls Remake remains a PS5 exclusive for now and will be announced at Sony's upcoming next-gen reveal event. Bluepoint Games is working on both titles. What do you make of all this? Do you really think that the developer in question could remaster Bloodborne and remake Demon's Souls at the same time? We'll find out sooner rather than later, so share your thoughts in the comments below.

@avenovah The fact that those who originally started the rumour, who are considered reliable, is what lends the video weight. Yes, they only have a few hundred subscribers, but there's a good chance that the info in this video matches up with what Nibel and Wario64 have also heard.
If this is true, the morons annoyed about it coming to PC can now kindly stop. 4K 60FPS will benefit this game greatly even if I’m not a huge fan of the base game.
This is very disappointing news for me as it basically confirms that PS5 can't enhance PS4 games whereas Series X can double framerates, increase resolutions and add HDR to older games
I'm more surprised with the idea of Demon's Souls closing the PS5 reveal presentation. If that's true, it shows Sony has a lot of confidence in that thing being a big banger. You save your best for last.
i mean this means nothing. this is just a pc gamer who saw the rumor and ran with it because he wants bloodborne on pc. and ofcourse those people would use that video as "proof" to make their claimes more believable.
this could be more believable if bluepoint was not making another game which according to them is their biggest project yet,i don't think they would be able to work on 2 projects at the same time because of this especially if both of the games are supposed to release soon.
and no i'm not hating on an exclusive coming to pc,just trying to make some sense out of it.
@Collette PS5 is substantially more powerful than PS4 Pro
I hope this isn't true. Bloodborne 2 and Demon's Souls 2 for PS5. That would be exciting. Bloodborne Remastered and Demon's Souls remake for PS5... Why? I want new games for the console.
Shadow of the Colossus PS4 is a brilliant experience and amazing game. It's not a reason to own a PS4. That would be God of War, Last Guardian etc...
If Sony's strategy is to start the gen with remakes and remasters, they're going to lose.
The rumour can't be true as Sony can't be that daft.
So, if true, Sony is giving away Exclusivity and Boost Mode for a BC PS4 game in just one move.
What a nice way to promote your new console...
I hope Sony don’t muddy the messaging on their upcoming event. They should only focus on games that will release on the PS5, period. If they’re going to speak about PC ports, they should reveal it on a blog post.
@Collette don't see why not, around 4x the CPU power, more than double the GPU plus PS4 Pro can rarely utilise it's full capabilities due to memory bandwidth limitations
If true, this remaster better be free for anyone with a Bloodborne disk or digital copy.
If their first party titles require to be re-purchased, my entire trust on Sony for this generation will be shattered.
@Makina It's a game that came out years ago and their not losing anything letting it be on PS5
Pretty sure they are going to be a lot PS5 exclusive also so what's the fuss?
Why not just issue a patch for the PS4 original, given the system's BC?
@Tharsman been saying the same thing for awhile now and this is another area where MS have been clear when it comes to series X... hopefully Sony will let us know very soon
@AzlanWake13 The fuss is that at the moment with no confirmed first party exclusives confirmed for the PS5, the rumours are that the new games will be remakes and remasters.
@mookysam Loads of money, that’s why 😉
People are jumping the gun again, assuming Sony will charge for a Bloodborne remaster without knowing what it entails. For all we know it could be adding way more features to the point where it becomes a new game entirely.
Bloodborne doesnt need a remaster. Anything from PS4 doesnt need a remaster. What a waste.
@pip_muzz You really think there would be no exclusive for PS5? Confirmed or not, there will it's just a matter of time.
@Collette if the Xbox One X can run Red Dead Redemption 2 at native 4K then I see no reason why PS5 couldn't run this
@AzlanWake13 I'm sure there'll be exclusives, but the rumoured launch line up is looking seriously underwhelming at the moment. I will buy both the PS5 and series X, so for me it's a question of what one to get first. Launch exclusives are the single biggest factor in this decision and these rumours are not helping
@Collette there is no PS4 pro patch for the game, but even on the standard PS4 it’s 1080p. So I don’t know why you’re lying about the resolution.
@Collette from that same story:
“ this work was also used to patch the game for PlayStation 4 Pro, which retained the same 1080p resolution but allowed for an unlocked frame-rate.”
So you were saying?? It’s safe to say if there was an official pro patch they would’ve been able to increase that easily. I repeat the question.
Also why are people reacting like the PS5 won't have any "new games"? Remakes and remasters actually plug gaps in the market while the new games come along. Sony did that well at the beginning of the PS4 era too, yes there's BC but in the case of Bloodborne, if Sony have gone to the trouble of making a PC port then might as well remaster for PS5.
@pip_muzz I'm pretty sure we are getting SOMETHING exclusive for launch like Knack 3, Rachet N Clank but it's laughable and naive for us to expect something like GoW 2, HZ2, or Spiderman 2
I'm pretty sure whatever they're working on is in It's early in development stages and we'll be seeing something in the years to come
@Collette you can’t seriously think that a hack was able to fully utilize the hardware. You made it sound like the game is 720p. That’s simply not true. An unoptimized hack for the game was able to be downgraded to 720p to try and increase the FPS. The fact remains that any unofficial patch or hack is NOT indicative of what the hardware is capable of and your attempt to imply as much is laughable.
@Collette I won't be buying any game next generation that's only targeting 30fps, I feel there is absolutely no reason for that anymore on such hardware. I'd be happy with sub 4K long before sub 60fps
I forgot that the hack runs on boost mode so doesn't even use the Pro GPU
@AdamNovice It's like asking whether Nintendo will launch a new console without an exclusive, There will be exclusive but the real hitters are not going to be front on launch
@Collette What do you expect? PS5 launching with Spider-man 2 and GoW 2? It's completely unrealistic, I don't even like Knack but it's realistic to expect something like it to launch
@AdamNovice very true. But this is exactly what I fear. Bloodborne was the first must own PS4 game. Coming out early 2015 after the console launched late 2013. If the PS5 does the same and the Xbox launches with the new Fable (and Halo is actually good this time) then that's where I'll go. I don't buy a console on the promise of eventual good games, I buy a console for what it had currently available at the time
@AzlanWake13 if Xbox launches with Halo, Fable and Forza. Then it's perfectly fair to expect more than Knack from the PS5
dude said few more exclusives are coming to pc i hope uc collection is among them. would love to play it again on pc 😃
@Collette @collette it’s like you don’t know that the CPU is one of the main limiting factors of frame rate...
Your attempt to misinform is sad.
@pip_muzz Depends, Halo has struggled for years, Fable is made an entirely new team and Forza is just more Forza. I personally buy a console based what I'll be playing over the next 6 to 7 years rather then what's there right now cos Sony especially always deliver across a whole generation.
@Collette no the statement is true.
@AzlanWake13 I think Horizon is a real possibility. Guerilla games launched a game on PS4.
@pip_muzz Halo, Fable has been worked and scrapped for years that's why we don't see something significant for Xbox One this gen so it's REALISTIC to expect it
GoW and Spiderman was released at 2018, ND just finished TLoU2, SP just finished GoT, MM just released Dreams, We KNOW Guerrilla is working on HZ2
So it's realistic that we DON'T see something big at launch, Xbox had load of times to prepare because honestly, they lost this gen
the biggest game I can see launching is GT7
@Collette boost mode on Pro doesn't use its full GPU, only the same as a standard PS4 would but with higher clock speeds and in reality isn't much more powerful than the standard console, PS5 will have over 6x the power just on the GPU alone. I could be proved wrong but I doubt we will get many 30fps games going forward
@ztpayne7 at launch? No, Next year? Yes
@AdamNovice it's fair. I will buy both. So I know the PS5 will definitely end up a cracking console. But it (and it's a big if) Halo and Fable launch and are good, then the current potential PS5 line up just doesn't compete for the start.
I'm lucky enough to be able to buy both over time, so for me personally the starting games mean more to me than others.
@AzlanWake13 Very true. Sony commited to signing off this gen with an absolute knock out. The PS5 launch is lesser because this year is such a knock out for PS4. I'm surprised Sony didn't try to pull a Nintendo and hold back Ghost of Tsushima as a cross gen launch title to mitigate it. Shows commitment to the PS4 though which is admirable
@Collette run along now you misinforming liar (IMO).
@Collette it's the CPU that is 35% faster not the GPU which is 800MHz vs 911MHz and half of the GPU is turned off in boost mode. So that patch is effectively running on an overclocked standard PS4
@Collette I’m not apologizing to someone who attempted to misinform. You passively mention it was via a hack. The fact remains that the PS4 and PS4 pro versions are 1080p. Anything non official is just that, non official and thus should not even be referenced as this is not a retail version of the game. End of conversation really.
@carlos82 I doubt PS5’s BC will be anywhere near as good as what’s on Xbox, but I wouldn’t take this as confirmation of anything. Bloodborne is a weird game, and it never even got updated for PS4 Pro.
@pip_muzz That's totally fair mate. For one of the reasons I keep sticking with PlayStation is this sense of moving onto new IPs and characters that end up becoming the faces for the platform. On PS One it was Crash and Spyro, PS2 was Jak & Daxter and Ratchet & Clank. PS3 was Nathan Drake, Sackboy and Kratos, and finally PS4 has Aloy and Spider-Man.
@get2sammyb Exactly and people forget that MS have whole teams dedicated to BC and I doubt Sony will put that much attention that will see limited use over time.
A Bloodborne Remaster Would Be a Waste.Of All Of The Games They Could Go Back To Remake Or Remaster a Game From The This Gen Is Not The Right Way To go.
@AdamNovice Agreed.PS do commit to new IP's and make absolutely amazing games. As a huge gaming fan, I can't not own a playstation. It's always a question of when, not if. My fav game of this year so far is Ori and Will of the Wisps (the best Xbox game for what feels like forever) but I still expect either Last of Us 2 or Ghost of Tsushima to trump that later on.
I can't wait to see what unexpected games Sony chuck at us this time for the PS5.
@get2sammyb true but Mark Cerny himself referenced the PS4 legacy modes built into PS5 which mimic the clock speeds, we had a similar situation with X and Pro where X could use 3tflops of it's GPU for unpatched games and force 16x anisotropic filtering whilst Sony were seemingly reluctant to even give us the boost mode.
It's something I hope they look at at some point or at the very least patch their big first party games to take advantage of the new hardware as opposed to making them all remasters
@Collette not going to happen. Do you always demand apologies after attempting to misinform?
@Collette
fact: PS4 runs bloodborne at 1080p
Fact: PS4 pro runs the game at 1080p as well
Everything else is just guessing and misinformation.
So stop lying “bruh”
@TrueAssassin86x So? This post expands on a rumour we covered earlier in the day. We didn’t think there was anything to the fact that a year has been removed from a website.
@pip_muzz Just bought Blind Forest for Switch last night since it was in a sale.
@AdamNovice That one was ok. I'd give that an 8/10. Will of the Wisps just improves on it in every way. If something annoys you during your blind forest playthrough, Will of the Wisps will fix it. It's also on PC too. I still think Sony will beat Nintendo this year too. Paper Mario, Animal Crossing. I'd still reckon the one-two combo of Last of Us and Ghost of Tsushima will reign over all
@Collette it ran the game @720p @60 FPS utilizing HALF the gpu (using an unoptimized hack) as Carlos told you already so your disbelief that the ps5 will be able to run it at 4K 60fps is ridiculous.
I repeat; your attempt to misinform is sad.
How sad must you be to try to misinform about something so trivial. You seem to be the one who should seek help really as this points to some underlying issues for sure.
I will continue to correct liars and misinformers so you’ll likely come across me again if this interaction is anything to go by.
A reply by you is not needed nor wanted though so, good day.
My only question is will there be a The Last of Us Remastered Remastered?
@lacerz We can always hope.
Demon's Souls has a strong and dedicated community (including myself). We are going to buy the ps5 only for this game even if it costs us a lot. Sony knows the rules very good. You want early buyers? You need games with a really strong following.
@Alex_P day one for me as well. I never did get around to finishing demons souls and I’ve since beaten every fromsoft game released after it. Looking forward to it!
@avenovah they just started the channel
@Collette It’s hard to predict at this point just how much of a boost games remastered onto PS5 are going to get. It’s a new architecture not just high numbers so I think we have reason to be optimistic.
I'm starting to feel disappointed and underwhelmed about the ps5 even before the unveiling if I'm honest. I'm not really interested in the souls type games and i think bluepoint doing two of them is a waste, perhaps a metal gear solid remake would be better. There is also a rumour that ps5 is very bulky and ugly looking design too, sorry if i sound very negative but for me the design of the actual console is important as is big exclusives from day one and not lots of remasters ect. I hope I'm proved wrong though and it is a great unveiling.
@TurboTom just keep expectations low but NOT THAT low, think realistically, IMO I don't think there will be any big exclusives because studios have just done their big game and releasing something new this near is just impossible
but I will still be buying PS5 just because I've been buying every single of their console devices day 1 regardless of it, For me, it's an investment.
@AzlanWake13 it’s possible at launch and it’s possible next year. We don’t know. You’re saying it’s not possible but I literally just told you they launched a title on the PS4, and they’re also the Sony studio that has had the most time between games.
@ztpayne7 They launched it on PS4 doesn't mean they will launch something on PS5, Yes I do agree they have time in their hands but at most, it's a new Killzone game and not HZD2, the 1st one released at 2017 and expecting a sequel this year is just not possible
I hope I'm wrong btw but I'm thinking logically
@ztpayne7
Yeah that's true, i think maybe I'm just feeling a bit impatient waiting for the unveiling and this article didn't exactly help much, lol. Yeah Sony have two massive exclusives to launch on ps4 yet, so hopefully they will look and play better on ps5 without making them remastered games to purchase again.
'The speculation came from some pretty reliable sources,'
🤔
A reliable source? I meant some pretty reliable source? Where?
Cant see any in the names given.
And what's the point of a remaster when its BC with enhancement?
Am I the only one that thinks remastering PS4 games on ps5 is too early?
I don’t want a bloodborne remaster, I want a new ps5 only bloodborne 2!
@Collette A remaster could run on a completely new engine - which means that it could easily hit 60fps on a PS5. Digital Foundry found that the PS4 Pro ran Bloodborne at a pretty much locked 30fps - however poor frame-pacing issues made the game jittery. The base console ran a mostly stable 30fps, too! Look at Sekiro - it ran on in the 40's on PS4 Pro with an unlocked framerate at a reconstructed 1800p resolution.
A PS5 Remaster will be nice - but I won't buy it. Now if there was a Sony-equivalent of Smart Delivery on the PS5, then I would definitely give a PS5 version of Bloodborne a go.
@LemonHaze But building a brand new PC doesn't mean you lose access to your old games. Do you honestly not revisit an old game with new hardware to see how much better it runs?!
@TurboTom
Dont believe all the rumours.
The one saying ps5 is bulky and ugly is also saying Half Life Alyx for psvr2 is announced right?
meh... enjoyed the game but i have moved on and looking forward to NEW experiences. also, it is foolish for sony to focus so hard on a genre that is certainly more on the niche end of the specturum relative to its other IP. if true, though, this pretty well confirms that sony will port its entire library of titles to PC which will diminish part of the appeal and "value" of it's gaming consoles going forward.
I can see Bloodborne remaster irking some. With all the forward/backward compatibility talk. Not because i care one bit (if the effort justifies the cost then remaster away) but id think a 4k/60 patch for ps5 of the pre-existing game would show some serious goodwill.
ENOUGH with the Remasters already, just make Bloodborne 2. Why would anyone re purchase a game just to play it again in higher resolution, stop being that guy, you are the reason they keep doing this. I already played through the game like 80 times, sorry but I'm not down for more of the same thing.
@TrueAssassin86x
Or a Remake Remastered???
Remastered Remake?
I like the Re-Reckoning that was just announced.
Why are they still pushing remasters on a backwards compatible console? A remake of demons souls sounds hype, as long as they can nail what made the original so good, atmosphere, music and enemy design to name a few things.
Remastering bloodborne sounds like a huge waste of time.
@JJ2
No i think it was on the mystic YouTube channel, he was actually saying not to believe all rumours anyway. But i have heard about the ps5 being big and bulky a few times. It shouldn't really matter, but having OCD makes the design a big thing for me. It took me ages to get used to the ps4 pro design to be honest.
Sick. Two games I have zero interest in.
Damn, nice flex Bluepoint! I’ll probably get both!
@Collette Yea I didn't have much pop in problems when I played it. If it's not from the PS3 back it's a waste and a greedy practice to try to resale a game with minimal change or upgrades.
I don't know why but this remind me of persona 5 switch port which is 100% sure according to "insider". I think it will be pretty weird for sony announcing ps5 with not bloodborne 2 but bloodborne remaster pc port 😕
@LemonHaze I used to be a PC gamer. I got out of it because it got to be too expensive (I always wanted "the best"). Console gaming keeps that in check.
That being said, I do have a PS4 Pro and an Xbox One X to ensure I get "the best" console experience. If some kind of "Pro" Switch model is released, I will probably get it as well.
@jdv95 they probably have been working on bloodborne remaster and demons souls remake for years, i'd say at least 2 years. bloodborne pc rumors started in 2015
@Trajan PS5 is not dead, Sony seems to have an incredible new strategy. making ports for games and selling them on a very very large platform to help them with their ps5 expenses considering that ports cost much less than a completely new ip.
@Trajan like how exactly? we still haven't seen the console and exclusive launch games yet.
Disappointed about this news. I thought that their talents could be used on something new and interesting.
Remasterstation 5
Here we go again 🙄
@LemonHaze so I'm assuming that every time you build a new PC you don't install any of your games on it and just buy new ones and have never bought a remake/remaster?
Well me and many others like playing old games and Sony even sell a service to do so on PS4, what I was hoping for was to be able to play these games with enhancements as I will be able to do elsewhere, I'll still be playing new games as well
No reason to remaster Bloodborne when you already have backward compatibility. Didn't Sony already said that some PS4 games should be running at enhanced framerate and resolution? 4K and 60 fps are minor updates that are free on the Pro, One X and PC, no way Sony can get away charging for it.
Why the disdain for remasters? If companys wish to remaster classic games to take advantage of the new hardware and said hardware allows for a definitive version of the games creators vision of the game then whats the harm? Nobody is forcing anybody to purchase the games and this exclusivity entitlement is getting sooo stale now.who cares if titles appear on other platforms? It just generates revenue for future titles and that can't be a bad thing for all gamers..personally a remaster of bloodbourne is something i have been waiting for with better frame rates although please leave out the chromatic abhoration as its really horrible..
@TurboTom
Yea I dont mind big as long as it s a typical console. I'm not fond of a tower. For that matter, good looking or ugly is subjective. I think it's going to look awesome considering the DualSense.
Two similar-ish games would be a bit disappointing I think. If they're working on two projects I'd personally like to see two completely different games.
I was hoping that the most recent gen we'd see remade/remastered for next gen would just be PS3. Do we really need improved games again when they don't really need it?
I'm pretty sure Bluepoint came out and said that theyre not making remakes/remasters any more.
Edit: nevermind just read the spiel about how important they are...
@JJ2
Yeah the duelsense pad looks quite cool, i was a bit put off with the colors at first but starting to grow on me now. To be honest there is not many console designs I did like the look of, but after a while they just become part of the furniture, lol
@Northern_munkey
Maybe certain games make more sence for a remaster, such as bloodbourn with the bad frame pacing or whatever might need redoing etc. But I think what is putting people off is because with the ps5 being backwards compatible, then it doesn't really need it, especially for newer exclusives that have come out in the last couple of years, as they could easily just increase the frame rate, and or resolution with a patch i imagine. But like I said hopefully just certain older titles like bloodboure, but not newer titles such as the last of us 2.
Agree with you on that..
@Stefarooh The only crying baby here is you. No one cares about PC tbh.
It's just that if Sony brings exclusive games to PC it will hurt PS5 sales, This is a fact.
@avenovah "400 subs" doesn't automatically discount info they may have access to. Back when I had less than 1000 subs, I leaked several high profile things to another high profile website, because of what I had access to.
But it also doesn't mean he's automatically right without a source. I know I always provided some.
@LemonHaze Lone wolf. I played some MMO's back in the day - but never stuck with them because I preferred solitude.
imagine closing the event with a remake....LMAO
Double waste. Great.
@nessisonett I don't know why ***** get so mad at people shooting down rumors. It just doesn't even make sense. From Software's games are largely the same thing with different skins (like what geeks love saying about shooters), so having two of the same thing release together on the PS5 seems dumb.
What a waste of time and talent.
Wow just what I didn't want, ps5 reveal and there's already 2 remakes and a port which has riddled this gen already
The game industry really is running out of ideas
@KingSimba that is exactly how it's going down
it's a third party game and it's definitely coming to PC. next month or by the end of the year or next year or 2022. but it will
@carlos82 not really. The PS5 remaster is only a rumor. Speculation based on the speculation that it's going to PC.
@Collette be real. PS5 would certainly be able to run Bloodborne at 4k/60
@TheNewButler this is speculation based on speculation that it's coming to PC. Far cry from confirmed. I don't think it's likely to happen.
People are giving more credence to secondhand speculation than CONFIRMATION from Mark Cerny of Legacy Mode? Really? This rumor makes zero sense, and that's all it is.
@ArmyofOne If they remake Dino Crisis, Resident Code Veronica, Legend of Dragoon i wont complain. How many times do they remaster Zelda on Nintendo and who complains about that.
@playstation_king I have had so many new titles this generation so why should i care.
@TurboTom I guess im one of the few who would like too see a optimised build of the games.
I still think bluepoint is working on a new IP of some sort...
@ArmyofOne Consoles have always done this. Two of the best SNES games are remasters, Mario All Stars and Dragon Quest III which was originally on NES. Then the DS and GBA had loads of remasters like various Marios, LttP, Metroid, etc, then Mario 64 and the first 3 Ace Attorney games on DS.
So no Metal Gear. That sucks.
@Tharsman A remaster for free? As Dante once said: “Not in a million years”
I wonder what that means for folk like me that have the original and was hoping for some sort of performance enhancer when playing the original via backwards compatibility?
I was hoping for a patch that would unlock the frame rate and upscale to 4k resolution as standard isn't this what MS are doing with all their exclusives?
@A356852 That is not a fact you stupid moron.
