I'm actually interested in playing the lego horizon game. Mainly because I haven't played forbidden West yet so, it should held me to get in the mood to eventually get that game. Also I can't be bothered to play through the first game again as I did get bored of it at times lol. It would be a simple story recap before playing forbidden West too.

To be honest I don't think the ps5 sales in Japan are much behind what the ps4 / ps3 was at the same point in the generation. The playstation consoles usually sell around 10 million in Japan, well I think the ps4 and ps3 was around those figures although not sure about ps2 or ps1 though. But it is a good sign they are getting a bit more aggressive in Japan and the rumoured handheld ps6 should help too.

It is not a wierd thing to say, it is just my preference and opinion. In the same way that your opinion is not a weird thing to say either. I get what you are saying but I think exclusive games give the platform a identity and in my opinion makes the games for exciting and special. I actually bought more games last generation on ps4 because of the exclusivity, but this generation seems different and in some cases don't feel as much of a must own game knowing it might go to pc too.

I personally find most PC gamers to be irritating and they just like to troll playstation gamers that they get to play the game and better etc, but as you rightly say they are not necessarily better anyway. I would prefer Sony focus on just playstation for the big single player games and maybe just the live service games for pc too.

As for xbox games on playstation, perhaps Microsoft should have stayed exclusive too, but they lost their way a long time ago. Having said that I must admit that I used to love gears of war and halo when I had a xbox 360 back in the day, so I would be interested in playing them on my ps5. Although I will get a used copy if I do as I don't wish to give any money to a company like Microsoft.

I'm sure Jez Corden was already talking about this xbox upcoming event, or it first come from him or something like that. Anyway the reason I'm bringing it up, is because it gives me hope that he might also be right about Sony moving away from PC games too. I don't trust him myself but in this instance I hope he is right lol.

I do love Ratchet and crank so might give it a try, and i have quite a decent phone too so should run well. Just out of interest would these mobile games fall under the playstation division or a different department in Sony? I'm sure I remember reading something in the past that mobile games was part of Sony music or something like that 🤔 or perhaps I'm thinking of something to do with online mmo games. The reason i ask is because the money wouldn't necessarily go to playstation division if it was part of a different division in Sony.

To be honest selfishly I hope it it true as I have always hated it when Sony started putting games on PC. Although multiplayer service games makes sense to stay on PC and I couldn't care less about the mobile releases either way lol. But I hope they stop putting the single player games on PC especially considering the steam machine and the rumoured upcoming xbox PC hybrid.

Not to sound offensive to anyone, but there seems to be a lot of comments on here of people thinking they know more about when to launch a new console than Sony does lol. Its not like Sony have sold 100+ millions consoles nearly every generation, and always support the previous generation well into a new one is it 🤔 😂

Yeah I get what you mean about sticking with the base consoles, also i don't think ps6 will be as exspensive as ps5 pro as some people seem to think, so ps6 will probably be a better value for the specs vs ps5 pro.

I probably wouldn't normally get a mid gen upgrade myself, however the reasons I got a ps4 pro was because I was able to sell my base ps4 and got a good black friday deal on a ps4 pro and a couple of games thrown in that i was interested in too, plus it was double the storage too. At the time I didn't have a 4k TV but the ps4 pro did improve the picture quality with super sampling though.

Yeah I understand what you mean, although two years is quite a long in the tech world so the people complaining now about the possibility of ps6 in 2027 might think differently if it is a hot new product and has some kind of unique selling point too.

However for me I probably won't get the ps6 at launch anyway and wait a while. I did the same thing this generation, I waited two years and was happy with my ps4 pro at the time.

To be honest I could see the ps6 actually doing better that ps5, as they probably wouldn't have the same shortage problems as the ps5 did early on. And with the rumoured ps6 handheld version, that should be a bit cheaper and entry level than the main ps6 system and should at least be able to stream ps6 games. But yeah the next xbox system will probably be Microsoft's worst selling xbox so far, although I don't think they care about that anymore.

From my understanding with Sony buying budgie, apart from pursuing live services success was probably a reaction to Microsoft trying to buy the entire industry lol. However I don't understand how they keep mentioning it in the financial reports, I'm not a business person but surely the acquisition is paid of by now. In comparison I don't think Microsoft mentions the Bethesda or Activision acquisitions when talking about the xbox financial reports, so surely that would be even worse for Microsoft given the size of the Activision buy out. Having said that Sony is obviously more transparent about the revenue and profit margins of the gaming division that Microsoft lol

I'm really looking forward to this game myself. I did like world of tanks on ps4, but was a bit too focused on realism for me and a grind to progress too.

There seems to be a lot of people complaining about push square lately. Perhaps they should all get together and set up their own gaming website 🤔 😂

If I can remember correctly, there was a bit of complaining from gamers because there wasn't a ps5 version of the game but there was a xbox series version. Although it was i think around the time that Microsoft purchased the developers of the game, so that is probably why.

That's good to know, however I don't think i will go back to playing the game on my ps5. I will probably try this new version though as I did quite enjoy world of tanks on ps4, can't remember if I played it on the original ps4 or the ps4 pro once I upgraded. Ps4 pro did support 4k but wasn't as powerful as xbox one x, however at the time i didn't have a 4k TV anyway so was only getting a supersampled image on the 4k supported games on ps4 pro.

My understanding is Sony usually sell the launch console at a loss to keep the price low. I also remember Sony discontinued the ps4 pro once the ps5 launched and just continued to sell the standard ps4, although I could be wrong about that. So perhaps the ps5 pro will get discontinued once the ps6 is released. However they would still support the ps5 pro but would just not be available to buy anymore.

I was thinking the same thing lol, I have the game in my ps4 library. Although I have never tried it on my ps5 so not sure if it has a updated ps5 version or if it still just the ps4 version.

Lol, if Microsoft had 500 million gamepass users they would be shouting it from the rooftops, and probably not need to release all their games on ps5 🤔 😂
However I think you are probably thinking of active users in general, and considering Microsoft owns almost everything now with games such as Minecraft and Cod then it probably is around that amount of active users in general.

Sounds interesting, I sometimes find dialogue hard to hear clearly so might play around with this feature in certain games. But has someone else said in the comments, it is usually more clear when using headphones anyway.

I do exactly the same, I have a really long USB cable ( must be around 3 meters or something like that ) and have it plugged into my wall next to the sofa to charge everything with such as my phone / ps5 controller etc.

Thanks for the reply, yeah perhaps it could help power the LED lights or something like that. To be honest I don't seem to game as much as I used to do and I don't really have a problem with the battery capacity as it is. I have a long USB cable too which I can use to play and charge at the same time, but I dont often need to do that with my two Dualsense controllers.

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but does solar power only work when outside or will natural sunlight coming through the window for example work too? I could see this as a usefull feature with a mobile phone for example and I'm supriced we don't have mobiles like that yet, although handheld gaming devices could benefit from this feature too when playing oudoors.

I was happy to hear about this game coming to ps5 but I'm not sure now. I was thinking that if this game and other games like a potential halo and or Gears of war would come on disk, then I would consider getting it pre owned so that Microsoft dosent get any money from me 😂

This is very cool, I'm seriously considering getting a portal. Shame there isn't yet a OLED version, but I can understand Sony wanting to keep the price down. To be honest i don't feel interested in switch 2, mainly because I already have a switch Lite, and hardly use it, but will wait to see the price and games etc. However I feel that with the portal then I will get more gaming time with my Ps5 / Ps4 games. What is the LCD screen quality like for people that have a portal?

Was really happy to see this announced on the state of play show. I really enjoyed Days Gone and and was one of my favourite ps4 games. I was wanting to play it again on ps5, but because I already got the platinum ( quite a easy one actually ) then the 60fps undated wasn't enough motivation, but i will be happy to pay the £10 update and get all the trophies again. I already have the disc copy as I got the metal box copy, it came with the plastic empty box too for whatever reason 🤔 😂

I'm sure the first game is in my playstation plus essential library so will have to try it sometime. The problem is there is loads of indie games in my collection that I haven't tried yet, and the list just gets bigger lol.

I usually add them all unless there is something I think i will never play. One thing I do though which may come across as a bit weird is I often add a certain amount to the library or hide from the library etc to make the list of games more tidy and even numbered, it is a OCD thing incase anyone was wondering 😂

I remember at one point Naughty Dog could do no wrong. I think the second picture looks quite good, the first one looks a bit like a man though, which is not surprising with it being a Naughty Dog artist lol. Not that I could do any better myself though 😂

I have the exact same problem with my switch Lite. Hardly use the thing and when I do the battery is always flat 🙄 😂
Although i do have a very long usb charge cable i can play and charge at the same time, but not really the point of a portable is it really, lol

Cheers for the reply, that makes sense. I always assumed it was working from standby, which never seemed to make sense to me how it could do that lol

Sorry for my ignorance on the subject, but how exactly does the portal work? Is it basically accessing your ps4 / ps5 games by streaming from the console in standby mode or does the console need to be actually turned on ( meaning not just standby)

I do have a switch lite, but to be honest I hardly use the thing and is not the most comfortable device to hold either. Swith lite dosent have rumble either, which i knew before getting it years ago but I didn't think i would miss the feedback too much but I was wrong. I have decent WiFi so perhaps I would like the portal. If Sony does a OLED version for a bit more then i would definitely consider that. Although I don't mind mobile LCD screens actually, it is LED screens that i can't stand the colour and brightness, etc.

That's cool, not sure I have heard of that game myself. Although I was only 5 or 6 in 89 and didn't start gaming until a bit older. My first gaming platform for actually a second hand Amiga that came with a load of game. And I'm sure i remember playing a paper boy delivery game, that was basically riding a push bike and throwing news papers in people's gardens lol

Yeah i think it could definitely work as indie type of game, and with today's graphics it would probably look like the original series too.

Yeah joking aside I really like Kojima games too. Metal Gear solid 3 was my favourite, and I'm looking forward to the remake. I did like playing DS, just couldn't be bothered to finish it to be honest. Might try it again with the ps5 upgrade before playing the sequel, just hope it's not too wierd though lol

I have no interest in train simulation games, however i just wanted to say I loved Thomas the tank engine as a Child and remember having Thomas the Tank engine bedding lol. Has nothing to do with having the same name though 🤔 😂

I didn't play the first one to be honest and have no interest in playing either game. Maybe if it comes to playstation plus then I will give it a try or big sale or something. I remember when Microsoft unveiled this game at the game awards with the series x console, i remember thinking phil Spencer looked like he had ***** his pants when he came on stage 😂 maybe Microsoft thought this would be a answer to playstation exclusive quality on Xbox, and no one bought it in the end lol

Naughty dog is probably one of my favourite developers and I'm looking forward to seeing what this game is like. However part of me thinks that Naughty dog is a big part to blame for this too. It is like they are being deliberately arrogant on purpose if that makes sense. This is their first now IP in a decade and they chose to reveal it with a girl shaving her head to look like a man 🙄 i miss the days when games had amazing positive reveals. And before anyone suggests, no I'm not against women. It is naughty dog I'm pointing the finger at here for causing this. Although the Internet is full of idiots anyway regardless 🤷‍♂️

Shame about the campaign not included, but makes sense as everyone would just complete it and not buy the game lol. I might actually give it a try for free, and i just got a 1TB SSD expansion drive on sale, so not need to worry about storage. Although annoyingly i have to collect the SSD from the post office as amazon claims I wasn't in when they come, even though I was in all day and my flat intercom didn't ring all day 🙄

I've had this game for about a year and not got around to playing it yet. I think it is one of the few third party games on ps5 to use the 40 fps mode? I have a LG C1 so will play it in that mode i think. So far I haven't felt the need to get a ps5 pro and dosent seem worth it to me personally, and my TV is only 48 inch so even in lower resolution it still looks good. I might still get a pro though at a later date or just wait for ps6.

Yeah i can understand the reason for putting games on PC from that point of view. Although I do wonder if the extra revenue is enough to offset any damage to the playstation brand. But I imagine Sony have the data if it has any affect on the console or not. I'm glad it is at least not day and date though as I think that would have a negative effect on the quality and extra work for the developers which could mean delayed releases 🤷‍♂️
Anyway I think i have passed caring about it now as time goes on, I just find the PC gamers that Troll to be very irritating lol. Not offence to the majority of PC gamers that are not Trools though.

I do plan to pick up gran turismo 7 on my ps5 eventually, but got too much of a backlog at the moment. I will check this demo version out though.

I never said I hate remastered or remade games I actually own a lot of them to be honest. I just think Sony seem to be doing a lot of things that people are not wanting like this lego horizon game for example.

Although I do understand the need for smaller games to be made in between big releases. But in my personal opinion there is so many more interesting smaller projects and remastered games Sony could be focusing on. But yeah it dosent bother me what other people like to play and everyone can like different things 👍

To be honest part of me is pleased that certain games such as this, which is stupid idea to begin with and other pointless games like horizon remastered and until dawn remake to name a few isn't doing well. Also from a selfish perspective, I'm glad Sony isn't seeing too much success on PC lately regardless of older games been ported or day and date like this game for example as I want their full focus on playstation and not waste time and money on PC.

Yeah true, I'm happy with my base ps5 for now. Maybe in a year from now if there is many games that are significantly better on ps5 pro then I might consider it. Looking back i didn't get ps4 until 2015 and then upgraded to the ps4 pro two years later, although I did get a good black Friday deal on the ps4 pro and sold my Base ps4 after.

For me personally I haven't seen enough improvements so for with ps5 pro to make the upgrade worth it for me. And I can't be bothered with the boxing/ unboxing process and having to sort all the wires out again ( OCD nightmare 😂 ) I've only had my ps5 for just over a year anyway, perhaps i might upgrade at a later date or just wait for ps6 🤷‍♂️ also in these early comparison videos they don't seem to mention the 40fs option on some ps5 games. Personally I would rather play ratchet in that mode as the fidelity mode looks better anyway based on this digital foundry video. I know most people don't have compatible tvs for the 40fts mode though, but it works great on base ps5 for a lot of the playstation exclusives. Unfortunately I don't think many third party developers have 40fts mode in ps5 games. I think avatar game does, I do have a boxed copy of it but not got around to playing it yet though.
