@rjejr Also remember that as a whole consoles have been getting fewer games than pre-HD era due to increased development time. Usually releases increase exponentially during the final stretch of a console in this HD/4K era. Even dropping a year off of the generation could cause most of the best third party games to not be released and be pushed to next generation. It would likely cause most generational titles to be released once every two generations instead as well.

@rjejr Some of us aren't rich and wait 3-5 years to buy a console and would like to get it before it's yesteryear's news. With your logic it would be even better if Sony released a console every year like i devices.

I personally like getting both Nintendo's and Sony's hardware each generation which the past two generations has been 4 system's in-total. There's no way in heck the average person can splurge and get all 4 within a timely manner given the cost of living. 2018 would have been absolutely ridiculous and unheard of. Five years is the average, but consoles that sell well always last 6-8 years because why chance releasing hardware that might underperform when you have a console that's still selling like hotcakes?

@Nakatomi_Uk It's pretty much confirmed that PS5 is at least a year off if not longer since it has NOT been scheduled for release in the current fiscal year which literally just started.

So 12 months at least, not 12 months at most.

I'd say November 2020 since the system won't be releasing before May of next year and I don't recall any system besides the Sega Genesis ever releasing during the Summer months. At least I think it was? If not, scratch that lol. xD

@ApostateMage Western RPG's are typically hyper violent games with mediocre combat and a story shoehorned in, not exactly much quality there. @ShogunRok Also the vast majority of the games on this list aren't even RPG's they're action or adventure games FACEPALM.

I would go for Ace Combat 7 since it also comes with an uprezzed and de-branded PS2 Classic, Ace Combat 5.

I just spent my alloted spending money on Persona 5 and My Time At Portia $50 tatal and $1O on Rodea: The Sky Soldier for the Wii/WiiU. So it's safe to say I'll miss out on this month's flash-sale and possibly May's flash-sale as well.

@Areus Yeah, but the PS3 version will suffice, though I will probably upgrade when the game gets discounted under $20.

@Rob_230 I rate it up there with Xenoblade Chronicles (Wii) and Star Ocean: Till The End of Time (PS2). The music is absolutely incredible!

@ShogunRok If you liked this game you'll love the second one! I gave the game a 7/10 at another website, but the sequel was given a 10/10. Are you going to be reviewing the sequel and the third game later this year? Excellent review btw!

@KingdomHeartsFan The thing is it wouldn't have been bad if not for the obvious shift away from traditional games. Way too many announcements were made for them to all have been PSVR games...

@Areus I prefer niche games, but as one of the majority who can't use VR I'm not happy that it feels Sony might be abandoning traditional PS4 games in favour of PSVR games that are as useless as cancer is to me and many others.

@jdv95 Agreed. There will never be enough people with sufficient speed AND reliable enough connection to make streaming viable over physical or even digital, at least not in our lifetimes.

@Quintumply There are worse things than download sizes such as 95% of all gamers being left behind if streaming only is already taking over. You guys all must live smack dab in metropolitan areas or wealthy high end areas if you don't get that dang near all gamers will be forced to quit...

You guys do realize the only way you get locked out of your digital purchases when PSN is being wonky is if you're stupidly sharing your account and your system isn't set as the primary system for your account...

@Cycologist Actually dual-layered Blu-Rays and triple-layered one's exist so Blu-Rays can hold up to 150 GB the only problem is that those multi-layered discs put a horrendous strain on the PS4's disc-drive...

@Matroska You won't lose your downloaded digital games when PSN shuts down, but you'll want to have your games backed up to a second HDD in case your main one dies, otherwise bye-bye games.

@carlos82 The difference is the install data is on-disc so for offline games you will always be able to download the game even after PSN is closed on PS4.

@themcnoisy That sure as heck better not happen. If Sony used one of the two PS4 freebie slots as a PSVR game there'll be riots and rightfully so. If they add it as a bonus game that's fine.

They need to make sure to have at least one T rated or lower game since there are plenty of young folks who subscribe to PS+. Also some of us OG's like less mature games as well, and given the political turmoil, more lighthearted games would be a nice distraction.

I'll be getting KH3 tomorrow! So there's +1 sale for the month!

There's a difference between sending a tiny number of people in space and making sure 90% of 7+ billion people have access to high-speed internet. It's ludicrous unless you'd like every country in the world to go bankrupt and revert all the way back to living in caves.

I live in the 6th largest city in the US and even we don't have the capability to do so, so what? 3-4% of the population do? I highly doubt it'll happen in our lifetimes given how the coverage of sufficient speeds are almost non-existent...

@kyleforrester87 You do realize that's under the assumption they won't gain any more users. The lion's share of new gamers are from third world countries as are the lion's share of people in the world. By the time the number reaches 90% we'll likely be LONG dead and gone.

@Claude @Mince Not even many metropolitan or suburban areas have sufficient speed, at least in the US. I live in the suburbs of the 6th largest city in the country and even downtown doesn't have reliable enough speeds to stream games from the cloud. The best the internet in our city can muster is remote playing PS4 games on Vita and even that is sketchy at best.

There are some games where button swapping will come in handy! @FullbringIchigo OMG YES!!! That is one of the games that will benefit most from the button-swapping feature!
