Re: A Lot of PS4 Owners Have Yet to Upgrade to PS5

TensuraFan7

@jorel262 I would be likely to buy a PS5 at some point if they did at least and have the sense to realize that it wouldn't be wrong for devs to drop PS4 support at this point. Unfortunately, at this point being likely past the halfway point in the PS5's life-cycle, it's seeming likely I'll skip PlayStation altogether this generation which is sad since I've purchased PS1/PS2/PS3/PS4/PSP 2000/PSTV over the years, with a traditional Vita being the only system I skipped on since I could play most Vita games "on the big screen no less" that I had interest in on my PSTV.

It's just too late for PS5 to get a good number of exclusives compared to whatever the Switch's successor will be released before the PS6 releases in 2026-2028. Switch's successor will also likely be in-line with PS4 Pro visually with the CPU and RAM being closer in-line with the Series S from what we know of the confirmed chip-set that has been leaked so once that happens Nintendo will likely get all of the major next-gen third party games until the PS6 launches making it a more attractive short to middle-term investment. Sorry for the wall of text btw lol. 🤣

Re: New PS2 Emulator Appears to Be Imminent on PS5, PS4

Hopefully this means PS4 will eventually get Wild Arms: Alter Code F, Wild Arms 4, Wild Arms 5, Grandia Extreme, Grandia III, Gungriffon Blaze, and Sylpheed: The Lost Planet courtesy of this emulation since Wild Arms are second party titles, and Game Arts & Media Vision actually supported the PS3 pretty well with PSOne and PS2 Classics!

Re: PS Plus Essential Games for January 2024 Announced

TensuraFan7

Wow, glad I don't have a subscription anymore...been ages since anything I'd have interest enough to have a sub has been put on essential. Nobody Saves The World is something I'd like, but not enough for an entire sub when I could get the game for around $10 on-sale.

Re: Sony Has Stopped Updating PS Plus' Subscriber Numbers

TensuraFan7

@Raynor85x There should be a tier for just online features that's cheap. Honestly if I weren't an adult there'd only be like 2-3 games a year that I could play on the essential service, and even as an adult there was only like 3 games each year that I had any interest in tops. That's why I gave up on the service and with such a massive price hike I don't see myself ever signing back up unless Sony does the unthinkable and locks the use of the PlayStation Store behind a PS+ subscription paywall.

Re: Sony Reveals iSIZE Acquisition, Not a Games Developer

@Shepherd_Tallon As an American why should I be happy about the push towards streaming games? Aside from California, NYC, and maybe Washington State, our infrastructure is absolute doodoo in all-but the wealthiest neighborhoods even in huge metropolises such as Phoenix, Chicago, Dallas, etc. So 90% of us don't have enough speed or stability to stream games without them buffering every few seconds...

Re: Sony Aiming for At Least Two Big PS5 Exclusives Each Year Across 'Every Major Genre'

@IOI GaaS games can work if done with single player in mind. GaaS just means continuous updates after launch such as what Spiderman, Final Fantasy XV, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Animal Crossing: New Horizons had. Live service is likely what you're thinking of which tend to focus on multiplayer and require a constant internet connection which includes MMO's, Fortnite, Genshin Impact, Gran Turismo 6, etc.

Re: Horizon Forbidden West's PS5 Exclusive Expansion Still Scheduled for 19th April

TensuraFan7

@KaijuKaiser @NEStalgia In all honesty Sony is definitely more anti-consumer than Nintendo is at present, though that tends to flip-flop every few years or so, so eventually Nintendo will hold that "title" again. That said the fact that the DLC isn't coming to PS4 has pretty much ensured I won't get the base-game until it drops below $15 on-sale.

And no I am not getting a PS5 as I can't afford a $500+ console, heck I could barely afford the PS3, PS4, and Switch at $300 each when they could actually be found at that price. PS3/PS4 cost $500+ now so I won't even be able to afford a replacement if either of them breakdown on me.

Re: New PS1 Classics Can Be Bought Off the PS Store

TensuraFan7

@ShogunRok @LiamCroft Uh...I have both The Legend of Dragoon and Wild Arms 2 on PS3, but it appears Sony has silently stopped letting players who have the classic games on the same account on PS3/Vita download the PS4 upgrade for free. You might want to report this in an article.
