Phantasy Star Online 2 PS4 PlayStation 4 1

Despite already being available on the PlayStation 4 and PS Vita in Japan, there was no mention of Phantasy Star Online 2 coming to Sony’s system when it was announced during Microsoft’s press conference at E3 2019. Turns out, however, that this may be a timed exclusive – at least, that’s what Xbox boss Phil Spencer suggested on the Giant Bombcast.

“Yes, it will end up on all platforms,” he told legendary host Jeff Gerstmann. “The point was to have SEGA on our stage since it’s been a while.”

Exactly when it will come to the PS4 remains unclear, but it looks like it will support cross-play with the Xbox One and PC when it eventually does arrive. We wouldn’t bank on the PS Vita version making its way overseas, and there are still questions over whether the MMORPG will even launch in Europe – but it’s good news for PlayStation owners in North America at least.
