@KaijuKaiser @NEStalgia In all honesty Sony is definitely more anti-consumer than Nintendo is at present, though that tends to flip-flop every few years or so, so eventually Nintendo will hold that "title" again. That said the fact that the DLC isn't coming to PS4 has pretty much ensured I won't get the base-game until it drops below $15 on-sale.

And no I am not getting a PS5 as I can't afford a $500+ console, heck I could barely afford the PS3, PS4, and Switch at $300 each when they could actually be found at that price. PS3/PS4 cost $500+ now so I won't even be able to afford a replacement if either of them breakdown on me.

@ShogunRok @LiamCroft Uh...I have both The Legend of Dragoon and Wild Arms 2 on PS3, but it appears Sony has silently stopped letting players who have the classic games on the same account on PS3/Vita download the PS4 upgrade for free. You might want to report this in an article.

@ShogunRok I'm pretty sure Wild Arms 2 will have trophies as well given that Wild Arms 1 has a trophy list with a platinum.

Since I have Wild Arms 2 on PS3, this means I'll have a new PS4 game to look forward to courtesy of cross-buy!

@ShogunRok Isn't this confirmed for Nintendo Switch as well? Not gonna lie, even if it is I'd probably go with the PS4 version as I can't imagine this'd run smoothly on Switch.

@Recover20 It's sad that all the good games they release now are ports and remakes of old games and Bravely Default, Triangle Strategy, and Octopath Traveler doesn't count because all three series were heavily funded by Nintendo, even OT2 and TS which are multiplatform.

This review is a 1/10. It's hardly even a review and is more of a literal joke as in it's actually satire instead of, y'know a review? Also the game is actually really good and it feels like the reviewer didn't even play it and instead relied on it being as bad as its predecessor to slam it, which has backfired since it's one of the better games in the series...

Welp, definitely getting Tales of Arise this week at that price, unless something unexpected happens.

@IonMagi I don't think so. Probably not Crash 5, but I'm guessing it'll be a spin-off game of some sort.

@get2sammyb @UltimateOtaku91 That's assuming the deal goes through in Europe, Asia, and the US. If any of the big 3 regions kick it back there's a good chance Activision and or Microsoft would call-off the acquisition as it wouldn't be lucrative to not be able to release anything in one or more of those regions.

PS4 and Switch?! Pog! That said this looks like a gorgeous and enjoyable Visual Novel and JRPG hybrid!

Looks amazing, too bad it probably won't come to Switch's successor and I'll likely never be able to afford a PS5, since the supply chain issues mean that the system will likely only go up in price rather than seeing any price reductions, but I digress.

@IonMagi they are definitely eyeing them, but ultimately it's all down to if Square puts themselves on the market to be purchased.

@4kgk2 Probably because there's nothing positive to talk about. Sony abandoned the handheld market and their Japanese teams. Are eyeing Square Enix and if they do get them will probably Westernize them to the point that their games will unrecognizable and would likely become story driven cinematics like the other 1st party games, etc. I do like Sony IP and many of their games, but as a company they are every bit as bad as Microsoft, just with less money to throw around.

@Korgon Also @ShogunRok does realize it's unfair to lump Falcom in here right? I mean ANY work on a native PS5 version of a game takes quite a few members of their relatively small team and a ton of their resources to port over. I'm not saying full price for the PS5 upgrade for YS VIII was a good idea on Falcom's part, but $10-$25 wouldn't be an issue in their case unless Robert wants Falcom to go bankrupt? 🤦

@Blacksmith1985 @thefourfoldroot1 Yeah Sony has turned me back into a primarily Nintendo gamer again. If it weren't for Final Fantasy XIV I wouldn't play my PlayStation consoles much outside of retro games on PSOne/PS2/PS3/PSP.

@Quintumply Will Sony remove any PSOne Classics or PSP Classics from our libraries that we actually purchased though? If so I'm fairly certain they'd be breaking some laws since in most countries it is required that purchased games not be taken from consumers and stay in their download library so long as the digital storefront for said console is still online. 🤔

@SuperPotato316 Technically Monster Hunter is NOT a GAAS game. It's an action-RPG with online elements, but most certainly NOT an MMO since most games in the series are fully playable offline.

@NEStalgia I'm honestly worried Sony may do something absolutely insane and buy-out Square Enix, Capcom, and Sega and assimilate them into their GAAS scheme effectively destroying Japanese gaming in the process.

@Rural-Bandit It's all stupid, since internet infrastructure just isn't good enough for most of us to play modern games on the cloud. My internet in the Phoenix suburbs is barely sufficient to stream NES, SNES, GENESIS, and N64 games on the Nintendo Switch Online service and I have the best net in the area. Tried PS Now and the lag was so bad there was like a 5 second delay.

Outside of areas like LA, NYC, and a handful of other big cities the infrastructure is sorely lacking. And that's not even counting the fact that over 4 billion people in the world live in areas that don't have access to high speed internet.

In short, if gaming goes Cloud only, the vast majority of gamers will be squeezed out of the hobby they grew up with and enjoy. 😫

@HeeHo It's easily a 7/10. This is legit the lowest score the game has received anywhere. Don't let the review sway you too much if you're a fan of SMT or Persona, it'll be an enjoyable experience for you. 😉
