@DualWielding if it’s only about cheap prices then do the switch to Xbox, parobably apple arcae would be something as well for you in this case.
It’s already visible that MS can not hold up with quality the whole time. Sure some games are good and it’s very useful for some indie titles but there isn’t a single game on Xbox since years that can match games like Last of us, Horizon … you know the names.
Same with Netflix and all these services. There is cool stuff but it can’t match the quality of large productions for the cinema.
Ms can only be successful with price increases or get nearly every second Gamer as subscriber on this service.

@DualWielding good quality can not always be cheap or for free. Look at the games on game pass…

@themightyant all good points but if you already paid 60-70 bucks for the controller, why is it needed finalen even more money for upgrades. I totally see his point with the battery runtime and it’s legit.

I think it’s a cool idea. Interesting to see if an additional BD drive is also possible for the „older“ digital version of the console or this feature might be exclusive to the new model.
Guess we see a possible Pro variant in 2024 then.

Still wasn’t able to get into the game after around 10-15 hrs. Might try it again with the update around fall/winter time.

@lexveem it is. The 4K mode now runs in a 120 hz container and targets 40 fps (or more).

Ok then GOTY/Complete native edition for ps5 on disc with the dlc in 2023.

John says in the video that the unlocked framerate also works for the 30/40 fps mode. Is that true? Would mean that ND implemented an own LFC like Insomniac did.

@Styledvinny79 people will always have something to complain. I really enjoy the 60 fps in all the games currently. Furthermore Horizon 2 on ps5 is one of the most beautiful games I’ve ever see. Also GT7 is beautiful, beside some minor flaws.
The bigger jump will come with the new unreal engine and „next“ gen only title.
I guess people will then complain about lower res and/or 30 fps.

Still see it as a bit unnecessary and can’t judge the price tag… nevertheless visually this will be absolutely stunning. Nice to see the improvements that ND made with their engine on the ps5.

It’sa really cool top down shooter game. Haptics with the dual sense are nice implemented, too.

@LIMA it’s far from perfect and the native app on your tv might be the better choice, nevertheless there is a fallback to static HDR10 then on the PlayStation.
At least you get HDR, not dynamic like Dolby vision but the difference is not groundbreaking.

@Toypop it’s true Sony is slow with those features and ms is far ahead implementing such „standards“. I still prefer the way that Sony goes, great games and a delay with features while on the Xbox youngster all those features but no exciting games.

@Gloamin story wise it’s average but that’s my personal opinion. Not the biggest fan of dark fantasy and the story sequences are a bit dull.
Nevertheless the gameplay ist really cool, a very fun old school space shooter. Nice sounds, cool weapons, fluid and good looking 60 fps.
Game should also be part of the PlayStation summer sale. 20€ currently in the German store. Great price for the game.

Always hoping for good games from Germany - Chorus was a good one - but this Gollum game will be only average.

Not a „Never seen before“ game but the overall style and with a small cat bonus it’s a very solid 7-8 in my opinion.
Come on it’s a indie game, not comparable to AAA title.

Looking forward to it. Had stunning 80 hrs with the game so far.
Overall it feels great beside the micro-transaction discussion and amount of grind for some cars.
I really hope they will add further tracks and more improvements to AI, races with a real qualifiing and more. The game itself has so much potential and offers nearly all of the basics. They just need to re-arrange some stuff a bit.

Does Shadow Fall run with 60 fps on ps5 or is it a capped 30?

It’s not ideal but we shouldn’t take all this online stuff too serious.
They will definitely present the game sometime, probably within a larger Sony showcase, some cross promotion with the upcoming tv series… we will see.
It’s not that the game is now „destroyed“ because of some leaks in social media.

@sanderson72 ok then it really seems to be that software solution like in Crysis.
Price seems to be real fair for that game. With nearly finishing Horizon 2 now after around 100 hrs of playtime (since Feb) and nearly platinum I will take a step away from these large games for the next weeks.
Some smaller titles like Stray, Hoa, The Ascent and Raji are very welcome

@D34DL1N3R but it’s different. The price calculation and expected features from a stand alone UHD BD player are different than the ones from a gaming console.
Sony would need to pay licensing fees for nearly every sold ps5 or whatever kind of deal they would make with Dolby. Dolby makes a lot of money with this stuff.
To say their TVs or players have DV and therefore they will implement this on ps5 as well is nonsense sorry.
I would be happy to have these features because I use my ps5 as well as UHD player, at least the very rare occasions when I watch a movie on disc.
It was similar with audio Cd playback on ps4 - technically it would be possible, their Stand alone player will have this feature, too… but it’s not on the console because of the licensing fees for each device.

To sell it individually as a license that the user can buy on her/his console, yes this would be an idea for sure. But we know Sony, they are not that much into this additional stuff.

@D34DL1N3R Dolby Vision support is a Licensing topic and needs money. Sony doesn’t want to invest that.
HDR10+ is barely used and mainly pushed by Samsung.

I really hope we see a great FPS game from them and not only mediocre, microtransaction focussed service game stuff.

@WizzNL increased with the new gen. Prices of the disc version in the local stores and online dropping relatively fast after a couple of weeks.
