PSSR has nothing to do with physics and the Horizon games not even using PSSR.

@Shinnok789 DS2 Port was on development for months. Has not really any indication for their strategy shift for 2026 and later.

Same articles over and over again, isn’t is like this since a couple of months after its release? Sony more or less dropped its first party support a while ago while we still get some nice indie games like Aces of Thunder.
VR is still niche and will still stay there in this generation of consoles.

@Blacknun would agree. An additional story dlc would have been nice but at least they added a lot of additional missions that you can play with bots or friends (or both mixed).

@graymamba the port was pretty trashy. It’s a shame that it’s Xbox console exclusive so far but it’s really not a huge miss in it‘s quality.

@Art_Vandelay that’s exactly that I was meaning. All sounding great but this update won’t bring magically all these features to the ps5 pro. It’s a nice hardware but still nothing groundbreaking. PSSR 2 will be (hopefully) in this form like FSR4. These extended features as listed in the article are more likely for a possible ps6.

@FamilyGuyFAN44 I hope so but again I wouldn’t like to keep expectations too high. Not every single game will be perfect after this update. Just seeing a huge hype meanwhile online and if there are any issues, and there will be some, the same people will again fall into a huge outrage about how bad everything is. So let’s keep calm and let’s see what will PSSR 2 bring for us.

@FamilyGuyFAN44 we‘ll see but I have the feeling that this hypes again too much on social media and a lot of people will be highly disappointed at the end.
Let’s keep expectations in a realistic way.

@FamilyGuyFAN44 These patent documents were send over most often years before. You don’t do this a couple of weeks before the launch of a feature. Furthermore Frame gen won’t be part of this ps5 pro update. Believe me I’m waiting for this update as well but it won’t bring any magic to the pro console.

Honestly this patent will have barely to do with the ps5 pro implementation. This is for the ps6.

I don’t really care. I’m not in the age anymore with the need to play or to have everything from the first day. There are so many other activities and 48 hrs isn’t an kind of a deal.

Secret update that includes the PSSR 2 stuff because we will get patches for the first games really shortly after the announcement during the state of play.

@ButterySmooth30FPS Internet without complaining wouldn’t be the Internet.
People could get 500$ on top from team cherry and they would complain why it’s not more and probably not paid out in cash/bitcoin/apples or whatever.
All the time we see the hustle over technical specs, now there is a game with 120 fps… ahh it’s not needed in such a game… oh my.

@mvhess true no huge improvements expected but why not?
It was a base ps4 version, no ps4 pro enhancements, so I would expect native 4K with 60 or even more frames. It’s not bad at all.
I see no point to complain about a free update for an older game.

Awful. I like the Horizon games, even the one from Lego but I will easily pass on this one.

Loved that game. It has such a beautiful artstyle. Sure it’s again a bit repetitive and the story could me more intense but I had so much fun playing this game. Highly looking forward to new games of this franchise.

Think it’s nice with Undisputed and Ace Combat 7. Two games I was looking for since a while but I never pulled the trigger when I saw them in a sale.

@Stepan hmm ok need to check out the size again. But still it’s still somewhere in the middle of recent games and the game includes a lot of content.

@Nem isn’t it more or less the same size for each udpate. It’s simply the update package, regardless if we feel that some changes are bigger or lower. Furthermore there are always some kernel updates, security fixes for the system that’s based on Linux, etc.
Don’t get this confusion over download sizes anymore in these days. It’s not a 100 Gb package. If this update would be 300 Mb or the 1.3 Gb as it is, with a modern Internet connection it’s barely a difference.

@J2theEzzo people always wanting newer titles so they now include a game that was released in October 2024. Not that bad in my opinion. Not everyone will be 100% satisfied as always but I don’t really get this huge crying over these titles month after month.

Pretty nice. As a fan of boxing I’m happy to try this out. Not a perfect game most likely but could be fun.
Otherwise a little sad to see that the game therefore is at the end of it's cycle with no more substantial updates. They most likely working on a true successor now.

Xbox as a platform alone is simply not strong enough to carry these bigger games.
