Interesting article. Hoping for the best. At least a 40 fps mode on the base ps5 and the pro should make a lot of people pretty happy. If they are going to achieve more, especially on the pro it’s of course highly welcome.
@Bamila it’s no Pro support as we would expect with a better upscaler like PSSR or an enhanced fidelity mode. Nevertheless it runs a bit better on the pro with a higher dynamic resolution. So in some way you benefit from the pro also for this game but it could be more for sure.
With VRR activated the game now seems to run with an unlocked framerate. Performance mode usually between 60-80 fps on the pro. Quality mode seems to run around 40 fps, which could make the mode much more attractive for many gamers.
@Oz_Who_Dat_Dare definitely. An update to FSR 3 or PSSR would help with the image quality. A 40 fps mode for the quality mode should also work at least for the ps5 pro. But I guess we’re too late in lifecycle of this game to see these features added. Still having a glimpse of hope that the improved VRR support unlocks the framerate.
@Gremio108 yeah for sure. Game is already „completely“ patched. These new additions in 2.3 are nice to have but by far not impressive. Perfect start to begin the game with version 2.2.
@lazarus11 ah okay. Still Strange. 5 years or more than 3 years after the current gen release and we have better HDR settings and proper VRR xD Alright.
Hype for this update was probably a bit too big when we see how it turns out now. Nevertheless nice to see some improvements. VRR could mean it’s a bit smoother and we might have an unlocked framerate especially on the pro? Thought a VRR in general was already active in that game… An FSR update in consoles would have been nice but I guess we won’t see this for an 5 almost 5 year old game at this point.
@Exerion76 due to Xbox fanboys the story currently is that MS carries more or less the PlayStation with it‘s games because they are all so heavily successful.
@Toot1st slightly too low xD Again no one said that Sony is perfect or never had fails but I hope you get my point regarding the Xbox userbase, beside any fanboy stuff or brand loyalty.
@Ernie for sure the pass isn’t for free but it’s not on par with paying 50-80 bucks for a game. Usually Xbox players wait that games launch in game pass. You see this in the terrible low sales figures for 3rd party games on Xbox and the fact that some games not even launching physically for Xbox.
@JustinTimberlake your future sex album was so good man. You definitely got the money to purchase those games but think about all the other Xbox gamers who rely only on GamePass and not having those world wide hits.
@Lock_Dock122 I can only assume that Sony helped Arrowhead to push the game and had some kind of exclusive deal for a limited time. Arrowhead is independent from Sony and it’s their game. I understand that they are looking to extend the userbase. Welcome these couple of thousand people on Xbox who probably are willing to pay for the game.
Hmm sales will be disappointing anyway. It’s a regular release on the Xbox, the game won’t be included in the game pass. Xbox audience is already relatively small and then buying a game… not many of them will be willing to pay for a game.
@RagnarLothbrok exactly this is my point. And it’s just one example of the terrible marketing strategy and their terrible business decisions since the Xbox one.
@Vaako007 not really. Both consoles offering nearly the same capabilities, with their own unique strengths and weaknesses. For the main point is that Ms did such a crazy advertising with these 12 TF and it turned out as such a disappointment. Series is a terrible gen of consoles. Name one game that is really shining on the series consoles. Even Sony has its issues this gen but it isn’t as far as terrible as with the series consoles.
After all it’s so funny that this was one of Microsoft’s main titles over years to hype the capabilities of the series consoles. Turned out as such a limited game in terms its gameplay.
@Jrs1 feel free just to start it. The patch won’t bring any overwhelming changes. For sure some nice additions but that’s nothing that should hold you back from starting the game. If there are any new cosmetics for character creation you can change it also during your playthrough.
Did some rounds of driving in GT7 and yes, the tiny stutters from time to time while driving fast in the corners, there it was mainly noticeable, are gone. Happy with the fix!
@Sergo we will see what will happen with the pro. For sure it’s more or less a niche system. The base model will have by far the largest userbase. AC shadows got a really nice upgrade over the base model. At the end, what is fully utilized? That’s a pretty subjective thing. Also the pro is mainly CPU limited and it won’t do any kind of magic. Nevertheless I’m also happy with my pro console. Huge fan of GT7 so these improvements alone made it for me
Nice As always these updates can not contain any huge changes all the time. These are often security related updates and that’s fine. Are you blaming Apple and Co also for little security updates?
@Sergo why was Indiana Jones not optimized for the ps5? They did an amazing job with the series X version and ported it to the ps5 which has a similar architecture as the series x. Ps5 pro support was kind of disappointing but otherwise a nice optimised game.
@Bluemoon2008 negative Previews in magazines and online causing a lot of issues with such a release. They desperately trying to save the excitement for this game. I guess this won’t work…
We will see but honestly I don’t expect a outstanding good game due to the material we’ve seen so far. It’s a lot of PR and marketing because of this former Rockstar producer but this alone doesn’t make a good game. Would expect it will be somewhere around a 6/10. Might be ok in a sale and some further patches but that’s it.

Re: Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 2.3 Out Now, Adds New Quests, Cars, AutoDrive, VRR on PS5, More
@Hypoman there are no new options. They overhauled the preview screens a little bit. That’s all. Really not a huge change.
