Re: Poll: Has PS4 Pro's Boost Mode Tempted You to Upgrade?

NorrinRadd

The Pro released about a week or 2 before my old LCD TV died. Plus my son and I were fighting for PS4 time. Got a bundle with a new 4K HDR10 tv and a Pro where the Pro ended up costing me about $100 (if the TV weren't discounted). I pulled the trigger back then for obvious reasons.

If my favorite game had frame rate issues, Boost mode would be a swaying factor for me. As it is, I don't have to worry about it.

@andrew098

No it doesn't ruin the game. It's sad that you know that info beforehand, but it won't really impact more than the epilogue.

UC4 is my GOTY as well. The only game this year that I absolutely could NOT stop playing. RoTR was a close 2nd. But there's something special about UC4.

Re: Talking Point: What's Gone Wrong with PlayStation Plus?

NorrinRadd

FWIW, I view Plus as a means to play online and purchase games & content at a discount. I wouldn't be surprised to find that the discount of Plus has paid for itself in a year (I buy everything digitally). If that's true, then I'm basically playing online for free AND getting free games each month as well (although I rarely ever play the available free games - they just don't interest me - but there have been exceptions).

OK – I'm not trying to pick on anybody or discont what they feel about this game, but I don't understand the attitude that because someone has franchise fatigue, they believe the series has to take a break, instead of them taking a break from the series.

What about those of us who don't want a break from the series? Why should we have to suffer a break just because someone else is suffering "franchise fatigue"? Here's an idea - if YOU don't want to play another assassins creed game, then DON'T play another assassins creed game! How hard is that?

Re: Existing Destiny Players Will Get a Bunch of Bonus Stuff When They Buy The Taken King

NorrinRadd

@ToOGoodOfAPlaya - Oooohhhhh! Please tell me how Fallout 4 was! I missed it but I want to hear your review so I can see how it is superior to Destiny! Thanks.

Oy. What would a Destiny article be without haters and price moaners? It never ceases to amaze me how people who hate this game spend so much time perusing articles written about it. Fascinating.

In any event, I'm excited for TTK. I think it's a step in the right direction. Tons of new content. The VIP thing that everyone can get? Yeah - it's fine. I don't need something to mark me as a special snow flake. As for the Gjallarhorn, I'm happy the game is forcing us in to all new weapons and armor. Who doesn't want new and shiny, especially in a loot game?

Re: Gamescom 2015: You Can Choose Your Murder Method in Assassin's Creed Syndicate

NorrinRadd

Lol! Everyone complains the games are getting stale and innovation is needed. Ubisoft innovates and people claim they've jumped the shark. Damned if you do....

I played Unity again after the most recent patch. It's a very good game. Yeah - the story isn't as strong as older entries, and there are way too many collectibles. But, getting rid of the companion app stuff and squashing most of the bugs - it's a very good game.

Re: PSN Offline for Some as Bungie Deploys Destiny Beta Codes for PS4

NorrinRadd

@Scollurio

Me too! Ordered through PSN. Still no email with a code. No nothing. I called SONY. They said Bungie will be sending out my code via email. Bungie says they've sent out all the codes. SONY says Bungie is having technical issues (sending out emails???). Would okie a straight answer from SOMEONE!!!

Why oh why was there no pre-load for the Beta? Ridiculous.

If you think this is going to fail your deluded. This game is going to sell tons - on all the platforms it is released for. I don't see it EVER being ported to new gen - unless it comes with the first two as well in some sort of re-master package. As of February 2013, BL2 had sold over 8.5 million copies and is 2K's best selling game EVER. I don't think the franchise will be harmed by shooting for an install base containing 160+ million consoles and who knows how many PCs instead of an install of what - 13 million consoles (maybe 20 by October being very generous)? Borderlands has a very strong and ardent community - I'm betting that TPS is going to sell millions and millions.
