With some apparent help from People Can Fly, developers of Bulletstorm and Painkiller, indie studio The Astronauts has gone from a walking sim to a dark fantasy first person shooter. Entitled Witchfire, the game appears to be a briskly-paced (and rather good-looking) FPS, featuring dimension shifting and plenty of demon-slaying.
There isn't an awful lot to go on right now, but the above trailer has our attention. Hopefully we won't have to wait too long to see more.

Yes, I think this will be my first FPS ever.
Now can we please get a new King's Field?
Definitely has me interested, especially with People Can Fly lending a hand.
Looks good, I'll keep my eye out for this one
I really liked how they set it up to be a fantastical walking simulator and then suddenly bring the gun into view. Great trailer
An FPS being made by a team known for their strong narratives is a good thing, in my opinion. Cool trailer.
Looks very nice, has my attention.
The graphics looks really good, the setting and enemy looks interesting, and the vanishing of ethan carter has good story, so yup, I'm really interested in this game
Now that's my type of FPS 😃😃
A few days ago, I was thinking why id never did a modern-day Hexen. Witchfire sure looks a lot like it could fit into that spot.
Looks awesome! So smooth too. Was that (at the least) a solid 60 FPS? Sure looked like it. I don't know if my Pro can handle that....
certainly caught my eye as one of the most interesting game-play reveals. A departure from their previous game too...
Awww yeah son!
