Insta-fail stealth missions have been a pain in our arse since the birth of Assassin's Creed, so we're overjoyed to hear that Assassin's Creed Origins is supposedly doing away with them. IGN's uploaded 18 minutes of gameplay from the upcoming open world title, and during the video, director Ashraf Ismail mentions that such frustrations won't be a part the experience.
"We're going with a quest structure because we have a world that's really alive and big, we wanted to make sure that all frictions of 'you've left the zone' or 'you've been detected' -- these are not conditions that fail quests or missions," says Ismail.
On top of that good news, we've also embedded said gameplay above for your viewing pleasure. Give it a watch and don't be afraid of being detected in the comments section below.

i'm still a bit unsure about getting it, although at least i'm thinking about it unlike the last few AC games
Does it wait a few seconds for the framerate to catch up this time?
@kyleforrester87
When the frame rate does catch up, then it's instant fail. It's Kind like an egg timer on your stealth.
I've never really been burnt out on this series but I have only played the good ones. 1, 2, Brotherhood, Liberation, Black Flag and Syndicate.
Thank God, I'd love to see the 100 percent sync go away too, at least for the missions aspect.
The very inflexible, punishing design of stealth missions in many series is what makes me hate them so much. It's just not fun to play the same mission over and over because you were detected, whether it's in Assassin's Creed, Gravity Rush, Trails in the Sky, or, indeed, the new Zelda game (arguably the only part of the game I didn't like).
Reallly hope there is no eavesdropping any more in that case
Cool!! Still not sure if this will be Day 1 - releasing at the same time as Wolfenstein and at the end of busy October that also sees Forza 7 and Evil Within 2 and with Novembers releases of CoDWW2, and SW:BF2 as well as the Xbox X. Already pre-ordered the DLC for H:ZD which also arrives in early November... An expensive and busy time for gamers...
I guess I'll get it eventually.... but while it is no doubt high quality, it seems a little...soulless.
Very clever detected comment 😊
@Mega-Gazz It does seem less like an Assassins Creed game and more an open world game set in Ancient Egypt that has 'some' of the aspects that they built up over the years with their AC franchise (among others). By that, I mean some of movement, combat and mechanics but does seem to do away with the Animus and the dual 'time zones'. I guess they are tying it in narratively speaking and the birth of the Assassins.
I do feel that Ubisoft seem unable to have 'confidence' in a 'new' IP - even if it may have similar elements and mechanics to their AC franchise. It was the same with AC4 which I really think should have been a new IP around Pirates and Pirating. Then Skull N Bones could have been 'Pirates 2'. This too could be a new IP based in Ancient Egypt with the mythology of the Egyptian Gods or even had some 'sci-fi' twist like a 'Stargate' but that's not revealed until the latter part of the game. For the first Part, you are an Ancient Egyptian in an open world RPG so it comes as an unexpected surprise. That could then open up a new avenue to explore with sequels rather than being part of the AC mythology.
Doing things like this, having more confidence to bring new IP's would also free up that AC fatigue we had before as they could bring out an AC game every 3-4 yrs, a Pirate based game every 3-4 yrs, some open world 'stargate' type game every 3-4 yrs etc so we get more excitement and more variation.
I very like AC series and i hope that this one will be very good.
@BAMozzy exactly. What you described along with "the metacritic effect" causing homogenization is terrible for the industry.
The eagle looks like it plays the same as the drone in watch dogs 2. Copy and paste gameplay.
@imtom2002 It's Ubisoft! They use the same game mechanics across most of their games. Besides, the drone from Watch Dogs 2 worked really well.
Another example of making the game easier for no good reason.
Hype! Want this so bad
I hate stealth missions overall but arn't ass cred games easy enough?
Preordered. Very hyped. This looks awesome. As a long time fan, I am looking forward to some refreshing new gameplay and mechanics. Don't know if I will like the changes or not. Only one way to find out!
How about full sync objectives? hate those so much!
