Developer Falcom and western publisher GungHo Online Entertainment have confirmed a release window for Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter on PS5.
Given that Trails beyond the Horizon is out in just over a month from now (with NIS America publishing), we fully expected 2nd Chapter to hit later in 2026 — and that's exactly what's happening.
It's officially set to launch in the autumn / fall, giving series fans plenty of time to get caught up on Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter, which dropped back in September of this year.

Just to clarify, 2nd Chapter is a full-on remake of Trails in the Sky SC — the second game in Falcom's longstanding RPG franchise.
If it boasts the same level of detail and polish as 1st Chapter — which we reckon is one of 2025's best RPGs and one of its best remakes — then this could genuinely be up there with the Japanese developer's greatest efforts to date.
Trails in the Sky SC has an incredibly strong story, building off all of the events that are set up in the first game. 2nd Chapter is fully expected to recreate that original plot, and so there's plenty of reason to be excited.
