I really want to want this, but the lack of high/low profile really makes the remake unfaithful to me. Jogging as opposed to walking by default is a huge difference in how the games plays, and having played Mirage, not for the better. I’m very disappointed they couldn’t even offer normal AC controls after touting a faithful remakes.
@johnedwin This would be good. Even if it only stated that if physical wasn’t a real option, you own a digital listen and can sell if you can’t buy a physical copy u you can sell. That would make the companies scramble to offer physical.
This is awful news. We went from winning E3 by still having used games to getting rid of physical games. Awful awful news. This also gives total control over pricing and hurts physical stores. I’m questioning if I’ll even want a PS6 now. Not to mention this has ramifications for backwards compatibility for all my discs.
Sony needs to reverse this. This beyond bad news for consumers. Watch your sales be less and less generous over time while you’re told it’s “the natural evolution”.
@Dogbreath it’s subsidizing it? Are you that naive? The game will makes billions at just $70 (let alone $80) no add ons. It’s not subsidizing anything, it’s gouging you. Cars and other things are physical goods, taking stuff out reduces the price to make the good. Removing shops does not reduce the cost of anything in a piece of software.
It wasn’t that hard. That’s a bad decision. Not everything should be made easy like that. You might just not be bake to 100% everything. Or how about this, it should only be nerfed in easy mode.
@AdamNovice To be fair, COD was still a respectable series when black ops 1 came out. Black Ops 2 was probably the last time it was such or the start of the series going downhill.
@DennisReynolds This makes sense. It’s not like CDPR is totally honest as CyberPunk showed. Also, BG3 got praised for free stuff being added when it was the game actually having an end instead of abruptly all of sudden feeling extra unfinished. In their case I think they didn’t have it ready, but they got so much praise for real releasing a blatantly unfinished game then partially finishing it.
Getting to BG3’s end and finding it just outright missing after “17,000 endings leaked, oh no” along with many other obvious half baked things at the end ruined the game for me. BG3 was a disaster for the industry in that it encouraged and praised devs for awful behavior and lying.
@wildcat_kickz New stuff you need to restart the game for feels like you’re punished for playing early sometimes too. I’m worse off with the experience for paying more essentially.
I feel like the main game needs an overhaul more than a Dark Arisen. It felt like they had a lot of ambition with the systems and wanted to make it a life sim RPG almost, but then didn’t have time to actually make all immersive elements. Many cool sounding things feel unfinished in the game.
I feel like VR games out of VR aren’t gonna do great. These games were very much meant for VR. Some studios leaving it may also find they now no longer stand out in the market too.
@AdamNovice I think the general with first party lull dulled excitement in general. I also think there could be something missing from a lack of proper press conferences. It’s a time when everyone went to get excited for new games. An excitement missing from small social media posts.
As an example, I got Pragmata day-one and was excited since I saw the mysterious teaser so many years ago. That announcement would have not generated excitement from me if it was in the past few years. I really think we should bring PS Experience and E3 back as live events.
They shut down devs for Sony’s mistakes, Bungie had LoU MP shut down which might have been a mistake. Sony has destroyed their output this gen by chasing live service phantoms and otherwise trend chasing with no desire to set any trends. Awful management. If they keeps up they’ll be MS levels of abysmal.
Just bring back the old AC MP. I only got to play Brotherhood’s, but it was fantastic and nothing else like it out there today. They gave the gold design, just use it.
@AdamNovice Live service wasn’t something that should be abandoned and they had some good ones, but largely their efforts failed and didn’t even come out. The ones you mentioned would have happened almost independent of trends too. The number of eggs they put in the basket was short sighted and a bad idea. If they don’t see that putting some of them literally anywhere else would have been better, they should replace them because they can’t admit failure and can’t read the room outside of a spreadsheet of trends. So many of their studios wasted years of development time and they took big losses in this. So when I say some VR games would have been better than many of their failed projects, I mean that objectively and from a revenue perspective - not because I want VR games (though I do).
They’ve had a lot of mismanagement recently. I really hope they get people that can see their mistakes for their sake and ours as gamers.
@AdamNovice I think they’ve would’ve made more money from the VR because it wouldn’t have just been a bunch of expensive cancelled projects.VR games would have sold something and boosted the profits overall from the headset. From a business point of view, it was foolish trend chasing that wasn’t well planned IMO.
I want to buy DoA. They’re too scummy with money for me to justify it. If this had all previous DLC I’d buy it, but instead they want to nickel and dime.
@TheArt I don’t think they did a very good job of fixing it is my thing. @nolifebr That sounds awful. It’s fine for a new IP that’s marketed properly, but that just sounds like she didn’t like Uncharted anymore.
@Stragen8 It being a more grounded/realistic game was a terrible idea that just made it feel lacking. That’s just not what Uncharted is. The previously established rules in the series kinda make it not even realistic to avoid it. They should have made a new IP if that’s what they wanted because using Uncharted for it felt off.
This makes sense. It’s the worst Uncharted game all things considered IMO. Pacing is bad, fights are very short, set pieces are a shell of what they were in U3, I was waiting for the game to actually get on U3’s level once and it never did. Way too much climbing and not enough action. And when I say it’s the worst, I mean that Golden Abyss also was a better game in its own right than 4 was. I was super hyped for U4 only to feel like the game never even truly started once I played it.
So this is why Sony has not levered at all on new hands this gen. Jim Ryan was, as many of us said, a disaster and didn’t know how to run the business. Shu should have been kept.
They need to just own it and let it go. It’s too late, just don’t apologize or acknowledge anything is wrong. It’ll be quieter then. Doing this is just digging a hole.
@SMJ Labo has nothing on par with Hitman, Gran Turismo, and Resident Evil games. There are many great games for the PSVR2. Much more than can be said for Labo, PS Move (I got them), Kinect, and I would argue the Wii U. Sony’s lack of original games for it is very disappointing, but it’s gotten more great games than so many other systems and peripherals.

This is bad. This is just censorship. This is just saying “people might find it offensive, so we’re neutering the story to avoid a little offense”.

@UltimateOtaku91 This will be good for us regardless. I don’t care if it adds to the cost, Sony needs the pressure it’ll be better Xbox consumers.
