Re: PS5 Fans Panic Over 'Lost Games' Clause, But There's More to the Story

Jaz007

@themightyant @get2sammyb Even with the EU law, it’s still Sony being bad at communication. It’s insane that you can lose your games like that, and Sony should be doing more to prevent it. TBH, if they really can’t, and maybe fair enough they can’t, they should just put the EU on blast for it. This l actually might be a reasonable case for Sony to play victim (not in a bad sense) alongside its customers.

Re: Sony's Rumoured to Be Reversing Its Physical Discs Decision, But I Don't Buy It At All

Jaz007

Sony had been making tons of mistakes and aren’t in a position of strength with component prices. Xbox could easily be wanting to take an easy W after all their struggles.
A publisher could also totally be doing this. Not every company is run by soulless spreadsheets.
I don’t know why this site, which should be run by enthusiasts, constantly shills for their hobby getting worse. The complete lack of being personally unhappy from your end with this frankly makes no sense whatsoever.

Re: Protesting PS5 Players Now Plan Permanent Blackout, Meaning No GTA 6 or Wolverine

Jaz007

I’m doing the week. I think Sony needs to realize raising prices and alienating a good part of the core audience is a very bad idea. They don’t have the leverage to be doing this. They’re made constant bad spreadsheet decisions that lost money in reality even through “from a business perspective” it “made sense”.
I do want to use what I paid for though, and my discs, so I will be turning it on again after the week. It might be more than I thought, the survey here had more people doing it than I expected.

Re: 'They May As Well Eliminate the Hardware Too': Japanese Dev Says Sony 'Doesn't Understand' the Feelings of Fans

Jaz007

@themcnoisy I’ve bought a number of digital games too, so I have contributed somewhat, but I also buy a good number of physical too. To be honest, I don’t like to assume companies pay people off normally, but it feels like Sony is paying a lot of outlets off to try and demoralize people (another decision that can have secondary effects). So many twisted statistics on the sales. It feels very unnatural that life long enthusiasts who run these websites are just going to “hard truth, inevitable” instead of trying to push back.
I’m really not convinced Xbox announcing they’ll keep physical won’t change Sony’s mind.

Re: Sony Imposes 'Strictest Ever Social Media Guidelines' on Staff Due to PS5 Disc Debacle

Jaz007

@ButteredCrumpet Considering they lost what seems half or more of their games this gen on insane nonsensical live service bets for every IP and then shut down otherwise profitable studios because they told them to work on an obviously bad project, I would not bank on them actually knowing what they’re doing. The leadership seems to lack of basic gut sense about how reality actually works Vs what a spreadsheet detached from real life says.

Re: PlayStation Consoles to Stop Getting Disc-Based Physical Releases in 2028

Jaz007

This is awful news. We went from winning E3 by still having used games to getting rid of physical games. Awful awful news. This also gives total control over pricing and hurts physical stores. I’m questioning if I’ll even want a PS6 now. Not to mention this has ramifications for backwards compatibility for all my discs.

Sony needs to reverse this. This beyond bad news for consumers. Watch your sales be less and less generous over time while you’re told it’s “the natural evolution”.

Re: Talking Point: Is GTA 6's Dodgy Ultimate Edition a Deal-Breaker?

Jaz007

@Dogbreath it’s subsidizing it? Are you that naive? The game will makes billions at just $70 (let alone $80) no add ons. It’s not subsidizing anything, it’s gouging you. Cars and other things are physical goods, taking stuff out reduces the price to make the good. Removing shops does not reduce the cost of anything in a piece of software.

Re: PS5 RPG Dawnwalker Pulls a Witcher 3 with Free DLC Drops

Jaz007

@DennisReynolds This makes sense. It’s not like CDPR is totally honest as CyberPunk showed. Also, BG3 got praised for free stuff being added when it was the game actually having an end instead of abruptly all of sudden feeling extra unfinished. In their case I think they didn’t have it ready, but they got so much praise for real releasing a blatantly unfinished game then partially finishing it.

Getting to BG3’s end and finding it just outright missing after “17,000 endings leaked, oh no” along with many other obvious half baked things at the end ruined the game for me.
BG3 was a disaster for the industry in that it encouraged and praised devs for awful behavior and lying.

Re: PS5 First-Party Sales Have Fallen Sharply, But It Doesn't Tell the Full Story

Jaz007

@AdamNovice I think the general with first party lull dulled excitement in general. I also think there could be something missing from a lack of proper press conferences. It’s a time when everyone went to get excited for new games. An excitement missing from small social media posts.

As an example, I got Pragmata day-one and was excited since I saw the mysterious teaser so many years ago. That announcement would have not generated excitement from me if it was in the past few years. I really think we should bring PS Experience and E3 back as live events.
