I think one more generation of more power for better resolutions, better framerate, and making developing ambitious games easier, more possible, and less costly to optimize (since less is needed) will still be good for another gen. Plus VR could definitely use the power. PS6 could do great things with the PSVR2 and they could basically relaunch it again on the PS6. Cheaper with and built in user base.

If you’re that concerned about power useage at that point why even have a PS5? This is the most nonsensical waste I’ve ever heard of. I promise they used more power developing this than will be saved by people using it.

@get2sammyb This is my thought, it seems like it’s just shifting the problem to someone else. Next they’ll be apologizing and bringing it back as non-super fans are pushed away.

So, I can tell who plays smaller games here I feel like. The reviews aren’t for AAA games so much as games that are smaller. I shouldn’t have to go to Steam to see if a small game or indie game is good or a real game or the rubbish slop they let on to the store now. This will sort that out. Crazy it took this long and now that it’s only on web. It needs to be on the apps soon.

@CielloArc I have a mix, it’s dumb. Having it in your library should be sufficient.

Didn’t they say they’d have you play with people who used controller on PC? Why not just ban KB&M from console lobbies?

A feature to reduce performance? Holy crap, they spend time on this? This is pointless no one wants reduced performance. Insane virtue signaling.
How about giving something useful instead wasting resources on this while increasing console prices.

@DennisReynolds So put an option to switch back in the options menu. It’s not bad this can be added, that’s good, but it shouldn’t be totally forced.

Right, because they haven’t made anything cheaper in the years it’s been out. This is just greed.

@Reeneman Because it’s fundamentally altering how a single player game people already bought paid for with no ability to play the game they actually bought if they want to. Great as an option, even by default, but people should absolutely be able to turn the stamina back on.
Games being altered after release has happened too many times now.

On some level this feels like taking away the game people bought. This should only be a thing in the options, it should not be a mandatory change. This feels genuinely shady as a business practice.

Wow, a game with a horrible rep in dev hell and they lock a third of the playstyle behind DLC. This gives me no confidence they aren’t just putting out a mess and hoping to take less of a loss.

This looks similar style wise, but very different in how it plays. I don’t think Sony wins.

@JB_Whiting That wasn’t the issue with 2042, before the Beta it looked to really compete with COD, then the Beta came out and it was a terrible battlefield game.

40M pop and a few more million sales. I mean, I think 5%-10% of the pop buying it is a lot.

It looks quite good, and I’m glad it’s not a Soulslike, but have enough already. We don’t need more, do different things.

What’s the point? It’s a Meta headset that’s more expensive and plays Xbox games in a way no one wants to play them.

@RadioHedgeFund Because they don’t show us this stuff to help us form an opinion? I’ve never gotten “I can’t have an opinion unless I’ve paid them $70+ for the game and played it. Then I can it was bad they shouldn’t have gotten any money.” Sure it helps having a fuller opinion, but let’s not pretend you can’t figure out a lot beforehand too.

This puts me in a weird spot, I have a pre-order for the Switch 2 version, but I don’t want to play an inferior version of the game. I’ll probably keep ot since who knows when this come out. Sometimes I just want clear cut excuses and non-exclusives though. I did a pre-order because I thought it was a console exclusive for the Switch 2 like 5 (which I never played) was.

Will I play this again? I don’t know.
Will I buy it for my PS5? Yes.

Ignoring all events or missions, it was an essentially 2% back occasionally a good deal like a game or DLC for half off. Losing the 2% kinda sucks.

Fantastic, they’re both being as cheap as possible while raising prices. This is ridiculous.
It was nice get some extra money every so often.

@thefourfoldroot1 Believe it or not some of us want VNs but not porn. Not to mention the consoles releases will often enough come out with new scenes to replace the explicit ones, like with Nekopara’s excellent console releases.

I would never play the adult versions of Nekopara, but I’ll be there day one for the console releases.

They’re betting on Sony matching. I can’t believe they raided prices on already struggling consoles though.

This is cool to see. The Steam release of this got crazy censored (like kissing from the reviews I saw), so this will probably be a reasonable release that has porn removed, but the baby doesn’t get thrown out with the bathwater.

@Acquiescence Common practice with VNs. They have much more than sex scenes and tell actual stories without them. In fact, many VNs have sex in them because it’s a common practice, not because it fits the story or the creator even wants them.
Sometimes they aren’t even in the story and are just a main menu option after you beat the game.

Yeah, Xbox’s buyout of these companies absolutely failed and they’re their acting more like it didn’t happen because of it. The shareholders wanted the money back and lot a big loss eaten for a while.

@doctommaso Why? Gale’s quest talks up the crown as a huge event, and then the quest journal never says finished, it says to get the crown, telling that’s an in-game thing and the quest has the best yet to come. Then it never happens, the game ends and Gale says he’ll just go do that on his own. Gale’s quest was set up to be one of the most epic things to ever be in a game, except it just didn’t and you never do or see the big event he talks about. They just didn’t finish it and have no plans to.

Honestly, the third act turns into an incomplete disaster that doesn’t even finish or reach the climax of all the question lines or companion quest lines. The evil ending is still a bad add-on that wasn’t taken seriously either and forgets your companions have stories, even the evil ones. (Frankly the upside to the evil endings after almost a year was almost an insult because it looked like it was cobbled together in two weeks)
It throws away your choices big time and stops respecting them.
This update needed to address many story issues, not had more subclasses.
I have never seen a game start as a real 10/10 and then crash and burn so hard and still get called a 10/10 while it’s clear they have no plans of ever finishing the game.

I’ve been having issues where if I open a hiding spot to hide or to hide a body, it opens halfway and gets stuck and I can’t use it. I hope that gets fixed and I think it will. However, they really need to add in the ability to keep in first person at all times, even during the animations that you were putting in third person for Some of the coolest stuff from the first version on PSVR1, are now ruined because you’re taking out of the moment. Just make it like resident evil eight cut scenes where it’s a locked animation. It might be a little janky, but it’s so much better than the awful third person they have going on. It’s a perfectly acceptable jank too. Resi 8 cutscenes were incredible in VR.

Oh, is that it? There’s a lot of picture slides I was hoping would be made into cutscenes. I’m not 26 minute is really that much or enough to make the potential for a remake really fulfilled.

Sony owns Bloodborne, so this is seems like not Bloodborne but with MP. Nintendo might have said "we want our own Bloodborne, but as a new IP." Who knows.

It’s proved priced the higher performance ones with higher prices all around. This statement makes no sense because gaming on a PS5 is cheaper than a Switch 2 by far. Who’s everyone? The the extra ram scare them off?

How do you know for sure it’s exclusive? That’s fine if it, I’ll play it on the Switch 2, but I haven’t seen a real announcement saying it yet.

Great news. I bought it the moment it hit brick and mortar stores, and I am glad I did. Hitman 3 is coming next month, and I can’t wait for it.
Third party support is good, Somy just needs to support more themselves.

Vuelgaurd is not a great game, it’s cringe that wrecked the Dragon Age name. It’s tanking this month’s game selection too. We don’t want your failure nobody wanted to play.

Overpriced and nickel and diming. I hope it fails to send Sony a message to stop being so cheap and charging for not only a disc drive, but a stand on a $700 console. Insane.

@Skorge1091 It’s gotten so much worse, but they had a good starting point so they’ve been able to coast to some extent. They’re count totally need correction too. This gen has not been as good from Sony as the last two for sure.

It a sign of the times of bad Xbox management. Xbox management has completely failed at making good exclusives to draw people to Xbox. The buyouts were bad ideas and didn’t go as hoped. It’s a sign of disaster, and while Halo on PS is fun, it’s ultimately gonna be bad for the industry and having good competition for Sony.

It has poorer critic ratings than normal, much lower, and has a 51% positive review rate on Steam. Civ 7's launch is an absolute disaster. I already decided I wasn't interested, but it's launch is much worse than I expected.

Worthless. Drop the price back as an apology.

It’s even worse because something like Crunchyroll still works fine outside of the maintenance message popping up every two seconds making it impossible to watch anything despite the streaming being fine.

@Khayl Is there a nudity filter in the options for this like there is in Cyberpunk or Baldur’s Gate 3?

The worst part is that it makes it very hard to spot what a real and good indie game is.

The average is 78 on PC right now. This is actually very low for a Civ game which usually gets 90 and above. This is likely a drop in quality and many of the changes they are making seem bad. I stopped looking forward to Civ 7 a while ago. Give me Civ 8 where I can play as the Roman Empire the entire game.

Sad to see Civ fall, but I’m not surprised at all since I’ve followed some of the news for it.
