Good. The game has a lot of good idea, but Is built on a shaky framework. Bring back Unity’s framework and ambition, and you’ve got something truly amazing. Unity is still such an impressive game due to its ambition. We haven’t had it’s open world (in certain ways) or parkour matched since.
@gaston I promise you the people who say they don't care about the haptics also complain about feedback for damage in a bunch of VR games. Headset haptics is easily the best solution to that issue. I don't think there's a better one.
@gaston And the headset rumbling is heavily underrated. The fact that it communicates taking damage when it's hard to know otherwise alone makes many games so much better. I was just playing After the Fall with a friend last night and he found it hard to know when he was getting hit and to react on PCVR, but I knew immediately and instinctively because of the rumble in the headset.
@Deityjester I’ve played over 100H of Unity, started playing it a few months after launch when it had been patched, and have been telling everyone Unity has the best parkour and is the best AC game in the series since then. It works very well and functions better the rest of the series making it much more fluid by letting you go diagonally and down,, and certainly Mirage, which while I’m enjoying, is built on a shaker groundwork from Valhalla. Unity is now getting the respect it deserves and I’ve been pushing for.
@Deityjester It's not enough like the old games without low/high profile and lacking all of the advancements (like with parkour) and ambition that Unity had. I really like some things they've done like the notoriety system, but some of it feels like it got build on a shaky RPG trilogy groundwork instead of going back and building off of Unity. The game should also have too much going on in order to work on a PS4. This is a step in the right direction and an infinitely better Assassin's Creed game than the past three games that just spit on the franchise and mocked it by throwing the entire identity of the series, but it's still not good enough and doesn't meet prior standards set by the series to be truly lauded as great from what I've played of it.
@Nexozi The problems lie more in the fact that it doesn't have low/high profile and isn't half as ambitious a game as Unity was. I'm feeling very divided about Mirage so far.
It sounds like Bungie messed everything up. They could have had a game that would make some money, but because Bungie didn't think it would make Destiny money, they said it wasn't good, and now Sony is just in a bad spot. Now, I could just be ignorant, but ND has made enough MP that's been well received in the past. I think the always-updating live-service model is the problem. Games used to just come with a MP mode and that was fine. We should have some of that again. MP games don't always need to be updated forever. One good launch or a few updates similar to a couple map packs can be just fine.
@Shepherd_Tallon Ah, I see. I suppose I see a difference in Matrix Online and Gran Turismo. GT has a long history that shows online is great but not needed, the game could be fine with some offline saving. The Matrix Online is an MMO based entirely on being online in much more core ways. I think certain games have a much more open and practical offering of being online and gone one day, but those are very specific. I understand say, Zenith VR (a VR MMO I quite like) disappearing one day, but would begrudge Hitman 3 if it didn’t get offline saves one day. In principle it’s not always wrong, but this doesn’t meet that in practice.
@Shepherd_Tallon Sony shuts down stuff way sooner than anyone else, and this game should be getting offline saves before it gets shut down. Ubisoft has recently started to shut down PS3 games, PS3. Sony should be meeting that standard.
This deserves an uproar. If anyone wants to play the game on occasion, it’s a problem.
@naruball Plus they also felt personable and had a great stage presence. Passion can drive these people, and that passion can go beyond just money. It's very popular to completely cynical, but while there is a lot of truth to it, it does not define everything and doesn't reflect reality.
@wiiware Ah yes, because there have been good silent movies I suppose movies don’t need actors who speak either, or books that have good stories, they don’t need voice actors either. Yes, of course there have been good stories without VAs, but to say that the entirety of many games with their stories we have now wouldn’t be kinda ruined without voice acting or not hit half as hard would be disingenuous as the most charitable interpretation.
That's disappointing for me. On it's face, the Callisto Protocol is a good game and a good choice, but it's also something I own it and I don't care about farming simulator.
@Kidfried It's because people are bitter and jealous unfortunately. They see someone with a job and paycheck he/she wishes he/she had, and so it's decided it's not a real job anymore and doesn't deserve anything more since it already has more relatively. It doesn't matter how risky the vocation is or how possible it is for your career to end because you can't find your next gig.
@BrockSmith You should have started off with that. Some of the demands from what I know seem reasonable, but that's a much better argument than "moneybags" and doesn't just make you look petty. You have some good points in your second post.
@Netret0120 Sony has never done anything like this to cheer on. Purchase are not all bad or all good. There is prudence in life and and we don’t have to live nothing but radical extremes that just make everything worse. Context can change what looks to be a similar action on the surface.
Great, I hope the combat slow-downs I've been having will also start to disappear with this patch. Waiting 5-10 seconds for an NPC to finish a turn as it stands there doing nothing is annoying. I'm also glad the magic mirror is also there now.
I wonder what the patch has. The game could also use a speed-up. Some of the turns just pause in combat and it feels more and more frequent.
@Brutal That's insanely annoying and unrealistic. I have to reload saves sometimes because the wrong character gets into a random cutscene I didn't see coming.
Shame about the shallow dialogue choices after the Witcher 3. It seems Larian Stuido has just taken the crown there. Project Red had trouble after not having a established character to ground your choices in.
Wow, the obvious that they couldn’t see I’m the Activision merger. The complete failure of protecting basic consumer interest form the government is just astounding. I hope the UK does not back down. And then Canada said it was a bad idea, but we just didn’t work enough to meet the deadline. MS will kill gaming if it buys too much of it. I really think the industry will just shrink if they get too much power. They don’t know how to manage their gaming branches, and that’s why acquisitions and throwing money have become their entire strategy
It also came at a time when so many other games where coming out. Armored Core, Baldur’s Gate 3, Starfield. Etc. It should have been delayed to next year and maybe worked on a bit more. It got sandwhiched so bad.
@Tharsman Sony, MS, and Steam plus others would be furious if delisting meant already purchases games could not be redownlaoded. Unity will probably have to adjust this to be only for future games at worst case
@REALAIS I mean, that's every Sims release ever. I'm divided on it being free to play. If it keeps the current monotizatoin model with a million packs, sure, okay. The base game is already worthless even at launch to be honest. If they make the monetization even worse it's over. It's already completely overpriced and they divided one Sims 3 expansion into three for the Sims 4, and Sims 3 was already very overpriced.
iPhone games get lost to time so quickly. Essentially all of the good games are gone now because of iOS updates. Phones are an awful as a meaningful way to play games.
This is also a potential horrible distraction for game development and toning games down making their playstyle suitable for a phone without a controller. Yes, the tech is cool. No, this is not a good thing for us.
The beep is great, it’s a traditional and must remain. How about rest mode not being a bright nightlight? I would love to have it in at night for downloads, but it’s close to where I sleep so I can’t have it on at night. It’s insane the bright light is mandatory.
@mariomaster96 He got hurt, I was never confused about that, I haven’t played any of the DLCs, just the vanilla game (with updates). One day I’ll play them as I bought them all and I’ll play the whole game again.
@Th3solution Some will lapse, but others will just drop to essential. I think the dropping one will be more notable, especially for premium, and the new subs will be less likely to get a higher tier. I wonder if this will make a PS5 look more intimidating to get though, because $80+ the $500 makes it feel like a more expensive purchase.
@Matroska My point is that the games in the spotlight don’t feel like a genuine recommendation list, they feel like they were paid to put them there first and foremost. These being the 4 major games doesn’t feel like anyone at the site feels that way. It feels more like an ad than a recommendation.
EA sports and Sonic Superstars and almost nothing else? This doesn't feel like an actual recommendation list, this feels like a paid ad. This doesn't feel like anything else the site puts out or gives as an opinion.

That’s insane. This kind of petty greed is not what they need right now. This is just a worse deal than before.
Re: PS5 Slim Officially Unveiled, Attachable Disc Drive, Launches November
The vertical stand being separate is scummy. Artifices pride in increase. Way to make the PS5 a worse deal.
