Dark urge aside, there is only a joke of an afterthought for an evil ending right now, so this is good news. It should have been there at launch and we should be be acting like this is a "great example of going above and beyond", this is base expected content being put in the game over half a year after launch. Every site I've seen has terrible reporting on BG3 stuff added after launch.
The current evil ending a bad cartoon, so imagining something more evil is not hard. I also hope it actually respects your choices (certain evil alliances at the end will actually carry through and you see what happens) and doesn't require me to restart the game but just use one of my already late-game saves that I've kept so carefully.
@mazzel Assuming it’s like the two Divinity DE, it would redo Act 3 big time. There would be more endings, more consequences to choices, more choices would follow through, companion side quests for Minthara and towers would get added, Gale’s and Karla’s quests would get finished, more dialogue between companions like the first, act 3 would also have a lot more camp cutscenes, a few blatantly unfinished quests in Act 3 (the firework shop) would get finished. It would be huge. Act 1&2 would also be changed to accommodate for Act 3’s changes too. So essentially all the cut content would get added back in. Saves from the original game would just be incompatible because the story would change so much.
I will be sorely disappointed if there’s no definitive edition like the previous game. It needs just the same treatment. DLC would be pointless right now, a DE is all that’s needed.
@Ralizah too many games look to see what they can add what they should be seeing what they can cut. For budget and for game quality. Many games for example would have made the ship in Helldivers 2 far too big and with stuff far apart, spending more money on making it and pushing up the budget. The game is both better and cheaper for keeping it so small and concise. "content" in some ways has become a terrible buzzword.
I agree about Jim Ryan, I think he knows how to boost some profit short term, but he doesn’t think out of the box enough for the long term. Sony got where it is now by taking creative risks and building up exclusives very well. I think the direct only thing is a good example too. It was a shortsighted decision that doesn’t take into account any ways to actually solve the problems (PS4 has no issues when pre-orders launched). It just moved it away from risk of that one problem without considering what was sacrificed in the process. Very short-term reactionary thinking.
@NEStalgia I think some proper marketing could help a lot. Making the launch only the for the hardcore willing to buy from Sony direct no extra warranty was an awful idea. They got rid of free marketing from stores and them hyping it up wanting pre-orders. but what if it sold out? GOOD! You think making sure the "loyals" get one in the first 3 months will be better by any real metric in the long term? I think a price drop with some new games could do a lot as long we get support from Sony like the PSVR1 did. I did find a VR market study that more or less said Sony sold about 2M so far and it was holding a 35% VR market share consistently outside when the Q3 launched.
Isn't this the guy who gets corrected by Sony a lot and is usually wrong, or rather just makes stuff up? There is some unknown about the state of PSVR2, but this is just someone's random guess going from history, and he's not even good at guessing.
I think the constant rerelease of games (that don't even transfer saves for moving from one console to another) is catching up with Persona. I would have bought a collector's edition of P3 if I knew it was the last release. when they release the full edition I'll buy the CE.
It either glitched or was hacked into the start of one of my games. No used except for one moment at the start because we were confused about, then didn’t want to get banned or something.
@nomither6 Those aren’t stealthy ninjas, those are loud kill everything ninjas. AC should not have that kind of Ninja, but the quiet ninja, the one that blends in through social stealth. Blending in with the people and social stealth was a very common ninja tactic. This much gore takes the focus away form that. It shouldn’t gorie then Mirage or Unity.
@Nyne11Tyme At this point Arrowhead is psudo first party, like how Sucker Punch wasn't until Second Son or after, but in practice was beforehand as far as output goes anyway.
That sounds terrible. The setting will be wasted entirely. This should have taken cues from Mirage. A focus on gore was the last thing we needed in “stealth” (it’s supposed to be) series game focusing on ninjas.
We talk of the first party games, but how are they not making more profit with their cut from selling all the other games? If they make good decisions as a publisher it should be higher.
@Flaming_Kaiser They cry it’s too short, then they cry it’s too bloated, they cry cry and cry. People go on this same “I want to only $0.50 per hour of gameplay”. If you have that much time, but that little money, you might want to reconsider how your time is spent. Exceptions apply, but as rule I think I’m probably right.
Games are too long these days. Some game shall be long, but take a look at God of War Ragnorok, great game, but it needed 33-50% of it cut. That’s stuff that didn’t even need to be made for the game and costs that cover been avoided, but it’s bloated and that probably bloated the cost of the game by millions too.
@breakneck I thought combat was great, I like it more than D:OS’s, and think BG2’s is a disastrous mutilation of DnD combat.
But if you think act 2 is stalling, you’re not gonna like act 3…
It starts easily as one of the greatest games ever made though. Them starts to stumble away from that as it progresses.
@Frmknst The environmental storytelling in Souls is absolutely incredible, along with the soundtracks. There's an abstract inspiration with the environment and its details telling a story more than a direct one.
@MrHabushi It really needs marketing momentum. Sony ***** itself in the foot by keeping it exclusive to PS direct. It was an insane move I called out the start and I was totally right about.
@UltimateOtaku91 FP support is lacking, but it’s still getting a lot of third party, indicating VR devs see money on the platform. If it’s like the first PSVR, while Quest sells more, the attach rate for software here is much higher.
I quite enjoy it but Sony should have another game announced for it and bring some ports of PSVR1 games on over. It has gotten pretty good third-party support and seems to be pretty profitable for them, which is a good sign. I regularly play and buy games for my PSVR2.
@Chapapa Yes, but that’s not mutually exclusive. PS5 will still be my favored VR platforms, but PSVR1 on PC and little stuff on PC I can’t get on PSVR2 would be cool to play. Also just non-gaming features.
I'd love this. I have a few things on PC I want to try out, not sure how my graphics card will hold up, but this would just be awesome. I've been wanting this for a while. It also gives me hope that Sony really does have some plans for PSVR2 and they're just not communicating to their own detriment.
@Deoxyr1bose Anime IPs have a lot of potential to be great games that don't ask that you've seen the show, instead that's all they do with it. The Witcher games didn't ask you to read the books, nor does most other licensed adaptations. they need just to ban anime arena fighters and warrior games for the next 5 years and make real creative games.
@tameshiyaku The flipside of this also true, you get it at launch, but if I don't get a Nintendo game at launch I see less value and don't want to buy it as I didn't want it at launch. It's no longer worth the full price. I don't mind paying more for launch, but I won't pay full price for a game two years after its release.
Wow, this is so sad. Imagine feeling that the old tomb raider games are offensive, so much so you have to put a warning on something kids of every kind enjoyed growing up. Removing it would have been ridiculous.

All of the party members didn’t even have a single line and certain companion quests just didn’t finish. They later patched an epilogue for one of the endings, but it still left companion questlines unfinished(just a hastily thrown in so I did stuff), the other ending which was hyped for half the game was still a 30 second cutscene. The epilogue is still oddly empty in some ways too, it also contradicted some of the tiny romance resolution scenes (which constructed what came before) because the ending lost all sense of basic planning. Some of games most hyped moments never happen or have any consequence. It technically had an ending, but it was obvious that it was almost all cut from the game and only an incomplete sliver remained.
@Maaster89 Alone doesn’t work. It’s not balanced for it at all and you’ll have a hard time doing a medium mission by yourself most likely. Matchmaking has gotten much better since launch though and if you don’t mind some randoms (it plays fine with randos) definitely still get it.
I’m glad we’re still getting improvements. I wonder when they’ll do an overhaul that will require new saves because it’s so extensive. The automatic dialogue one in particular got super annoying. Nothing like the 8 charisma cleric getting dialouge instead of my rogue built to be a face.
