Re: Poll: Which Xbox Franchises Would You Buy on PS5?

Jaz007

I feel like the poll is kinda too broad in that has games with no confirmed or likely sequels that aren’t already on PS. I think narrowing to games that have been announced already for Xbox only past or present and not PS would be more informative.

Re: Rumour: Even Gears of War Is Reportedly in Talks to Come to PlayStation

Jaz007

It sounds like threw money to help Xbox, then wanted to put it all on Gamepass, realized the lack of word of mouth from not being on PS and the lack of actual sales didn't help the bottom line, and now are trying to fix the billions they used on publishers in a way that doesn't make a lot of sense.
I think MS's Xbox management has simply been a disaster and throwing money around has made some people actually want to see a return sooner.
Xbox has been terribly mismanaged ever since the first 2/3rds of the 360's lifespan ended.

Re: Game of the Year: #1 - Marvel's Spider-Man 2

Jaz007

So it got voted through a weighted system where it happened to be on enough people’s list? To saying nothing of artistic merit, advancing the industry forward. Your system begs for safe games that many people like in an 8/10 manner as opposed to giving a meaningful award.
I’m sorry but your system here is broken and makes your GotY list look like a joke.
You guys should be discussing meaningful achievements in gaming what will have influence on the industry. This is really sad and I know you guys can come together to make a more me sinful list. Ever since you started making a ton of lists, I feel the quality has done down.
Like you put out “best co-op games” while taking user ratings and then taking user rankings for any game with co-op regardless of the co-op quality.
This feels like a very low effort list with no serious consideration and was just done with a vote to save time.
I say this not to be rude, but to give constructive criticism because I know this site can do better.

Re: Game of the Year: #2 - Baldur's Gate 3

Jaz007

This was the most disappointing game of the year for me by far. It was a potential game of the decade, only to fall apart as totally incomplete when you got to the end. It was an Early Access release sold as a finished game. It should be GoTY, but it’s not even close.
That being said, Spider-Man 2 gives the credentials of democracy much doubt and the fact that influence, doing something new, pushing the medium forward, etc, should all be considered by people voting and a safe super heir sequel, as good as it is, gets GotY over much more artistic and genre-pushing games makes me question who was allowed to vote and how shallow their thought process is, that safe flashy fun was enough to give such an award.

Is this website ever going to acknowledge that BG3 shipped without its ending and only partially patched it in months afterwards? BG3 is one of the most atrocious cons I have evver no matter how good the feel acts are.
It should’ve BG3, but FF16 was fantastic and had its ending in full and didn’t train wreck breaking most of its promises. For

Re: Larian Slyly Slips Realistic Jiggle Physics into Baldur's Gate 3

Jaz007

Why are we calling a game that had the ending as part of the cut content GotY? BG3 has lowered gaming standards overall, and they literally started, only started, patching in the ending 4 months after release.
And to be honest, this one is just kind of gross… and a huge distraction from actual issues. Sadly their attention grabbing is working like a charm.

Re: Boring Baldur's Gate 3 Players Can Now Recruit Minthara without Murder

Jaz007

This is horrible. Minthara is supposed to be an evil route boon and emending that is just penalizing the evil route, which has a lot going for it, but needs some definite work. Letting a good player have all the companions with no consequence is an awful idea. Good or evil, this game needs consequences and this is removing them in a shortsighted manner.

Re: Baldur's Gate 3 Update 5 Is Monstrous, Adds an Entire Epilogue, New Difficulty Settings, and Much More

Jaz007

@This_Guy Don't be sorry lol , I'm glad someone is waiting for patches instead of praising a dev for "great post-launch support" because they're getting around (at least starting to) adding the ending a game months after release.
The QoL changes like the inventory and such are nice improvements post-launch, commendable for sure, but I've said my piece on other elements already.
A definitive edition may be the key words you're looking for as far as the patches truly slowing down.

Re: Baldur's Gate 3 Update 5 Is Monstrous, Adds an Entire Epilogue, New Difficulty Settings, and Much More

@CallMeDuraSouka This is because the ending was cut content and didn't reflect a single thing you did, companion quests were unfinished, act 3 seems off with the lack of somethings, has a quest that blatantly is missing it's end.
The studio boasted about 17,000 variations of the ending while one of the two endings the game hypes for ages is a nonsensical 30 second cutscene, and the other isn't that much better. I'm not sure that ending will even be touched by this, but I hope it is. It totally railroads you at the end.
I genuinely regret buying the game at launch as it was incomplete and sold on lies.
It was an early access release at best that completely falls apart by the end. I cannot believe it got so many 10/10s.

The studio has a history of making definitive editions later on, and will probably do again, rewriting act 3 and making changes to the rest of the game is something they've done twice, I would wait for a long time to make sure they've updated the game before buying.

Re: GTA Publisher Lays Out Complex Entertainment Per-Hour Pricing Algorithm

Jaz007

So many games could be shorter and better, or are just crafted differently, it doesn’t necessarily reflect cost to make or “value.” A crazy game might be 10H, but a longer game without the set pieces might also be there.
It’s a dangerous philosophy to follow. God of War Ragnorok , despite high quality moments, is 7/10 max to me because a third to half of the game is eating my time to have the good moments, or something decent takes much longer than it should. Because of that, it failed to meaningfully take any of the first game’s main issues and addressed more shallow ones I don’t even notice instead.
