There’s a minority on here that weren’t impressed.
I put myself in that bracket.
The graphics just look really cartoony to me and it doesn’t scream next gen...far from it.
maybe as it’s on PS4 too?
I’ll keep an eye on it but I’m not sure I’ll buy it.

Thanks for giving me your early impressions.
It gets superb reviews. Returnal has opened my eyes to this genre so I might well dip my toe.
Currently £22:99 in the e shop so we’ll see.
Might be a good one to take travelling (when we’re eventually allowed to again).

What’s your thoughts on Hades mate?
I was close to buying it this week as have thoroughly enjoyed Returnal.

Outriders has fun gameplay but matchmaking is awful.
I don’t have anyone in know that plays it so was totally reliant on that for the higher tiers and trying to find one or two people who were on the same level as you was such a pain.
Literally spent half my time matchmaking and not playing
Gave up with it in the end

The only way is to put your PS5 in rest mode.
Crazy. They’ve already lost a tonne of sales due to this and we can only hope they put in a quick save feature ASAP.

Very nice mate. You’re correct. I would struggle to go back to 30-50mps now as you really get used to such high speeds and any downloads/updates don’t phase at all.
Enjoy your 500mps speed when you get it.

I made that exact point very early in the comments.
It looks great and I can’t wait to give it a try but I’m in my 40’s now and im not as good as I was 20 years ago at games!
Ah well. Like another oldie on here said. Just enjoy the experience and hopefully we can all make some progress with it over time!

I think that’s a fair point to raise and definitely should have been raised in the review.
We can only hope they add a quick save feature in at some point as I’ve read many comments saying as much as they like the look of the game that’s a big no no for them due to having young children and other commitments etc and they could never play for such long sessions (2-3 hours apparently).

That’s not really a brag mate to be fair.
The patch will take me around 8 minutes to update.
My internet speed is over 200 mps so it makes light work of even the biggest download.....not bragging mind! 😉

So I just did some research on the previous game and it had an easy, normal and hard mode so it looks like maybe the footage in the state of play was played on easy or normal mode.
Good news.

Just watched the state of play again in 4K.
Could this be the most beautiful game ever made? On console at least. It looks absolutely phenomenal!
The only question I have is on the difficulty level of R&C games?
I’ve never played one previously having always had x box.
Do they pose much of a challenge at all as it seems to me like all enemies are blown away pretty easily?
Can anyone give me the heads up please?

I’m really looking forward to this but I just hope I’m good enough to progress through the game.
I’ve read on various reviews that this is one hard game (makes Demon Souls look like easy etc) and although I enjoy gaming and it’s been a hobby of mine for over 30 years now I’m not that great.

Having been an x box man all my life and having made the decision to go with PS5 too for the first time I’ve got to say what with this and Returnal in the space of the next 5 weeks or so my decision has already been vindicated.
This looks amazing as does Returnal.

Absolutely. It looks really good and I haven’t read a bad preview of it yet.
£70 is a lot but it is a full next generation game experience so I’m sold tbh.
Can’t wait to get my hands on this next week.

Preordered yesterday.
This ones got me excited for the first proper next gen game (bar Demon Souls which was a remake).
The shooting looks superb and the aliens varied interesting and tough.
Throw in great graphics and both duel sense and 3D audio support and I’m there.
£70 is steep but I guess that’s what you have to pay for being an early adopter for the next gen.

How did you manage that out of interest?
I’ve a series X too as well as a PS5 and my gamepass ultimate runs out in a couple of weeks. Not sure whether to renew it or not

I’ve never understood the point of trophies tbh.
Just play the game and enjoy it.
Challenge yourself within the game altering difficulty levels sure but who cares if you’ve a trophy at the end.

Honestly don’t know whether to pre order this one or not.
£70 is a lot to then find out that it’s not as good as it initially looked and you’ve picked up a dud.
I hope the reviews come out a few days early so I can still pick this up day one if it’s superb.
It does look like a real blast so my hopes are high!

Video doesn’t work

This would terrify me in VR. Bought the original on PC in 2003 and used to sit there in the dark with my headphones on jumping out of my seat! Lol
I’ll pick this up when VR2 comes out

So I’m currently playing through the mortar level. It’s frustrating tbh. There’s times when I’m progressing that I really enjoy this game. Other times I end up losing my rag (I’m sure the neighbours will testify)
The controls more than anything. Just making what should be simple jumps from ledge to ledge can be infuriating when tired trying not to get seen.
I’ll stick with it but i can only play 45 mins at a time due to it being bad for my blood pressure!

It’s all about Battlefield 6 this year not COD
5 was the worst entry for some time in my opinion and I’ve read they’re going back to grand scale battles for the next entry.
Can’t wait to find out more about that.

I have an LGC9 OLED 55” TV and a PS5 so a pretty decent set up which definitely should be able to show the difference I would say.
I’ll give your advice a go on a game that offers both options (I don’t own the two games you refer to).

I must be the only one who doesn’t see much difference between 30fps and 60fps.

I aim to purchase PSVR2 day one if I can get my hands on one that is.
However throw Half Life Alyx into the equation and I’ll do all I can to get my hands on one ASAP.
I reckon the system will retail at £400 - £500
So basically as much as the PS5 itself.

Take my money!!!!

Exactly that mate. I really enjoyed the first game but had moved on and didn’t play the dlc.
If they updated it and gave it PS5 support I’d jump back in.

Has anyone got any tips for me for this game?
I’m an older gamer (have played all my life and enjoy platformers) but this is my first Crash and it’s hard...
Just wondered if any Crash Veterans out there can give a bit of advice.

I’m in the same boat. Have at least 3 editions on various consoles.
However this would be amazing in VR.
I bought a PC back in 2003 specially to play this amazing game.
I don’t own a VR set and was waiting for the release of the PS5 one but this may make me buy one now.....God dam it!

Games like this are 💯 the reason for got a PlayStation 5 and I’ve never owned a PS before.
The only thing that may come close or possibly out do this on x box is the new Fable.
Personally I hope they’re both belters

I wouldn’t worry about it. There was virtually nothing to get excited about.
Another reboot of an old Zelda game that they’ll charge full price for even though it’s 10 years old.
Yet another instalment of splatoon which no one seems to want and a load of games no one cares about.
Oh and Mario golf....
So disappointing.
Glad I’ve got my PS5 and series X to keep me busy tbh.

It was fun for a few days but I’ll come back in 12 months when they’ve added the rest of the game.

Always been x box but now have a PS5 and therefore I’ve never played Ratchett and Clank ever.
Is the PS4 one worth playing through?

It’s fun but shallow gameplay.
If they support it and add more content it could be great.
If nothing else it’s made me reinstall Rocket league again which I’m thoroughly enjoying.

I agree. I didn’t write that particularly well.
I don’t think Gears is a benchmark like Horizon.
I just think of the current Series X games is one of the nicer looking ones which had clearly had some love.
That’s not saying much and I’m personally pretty disappointed there’s no true next gen experiences on the new x box.

Somehow I managed to download the PS4 edition of the game first. I turned it on (I haven’t played it before) and played 30 mins or so and wondered what all the fuss was about. It looks crap!
I finally figured out to download the ultimate edition for PS5.
It’s a thing of beauty!
Ray tracing is gorgeous and now I see how great it looks on this gen of console.
I can’t bring myself to play 60fps as I’m a graphics guy through and through. 😁
