Good news, readers: Oddworld: Soulstorm will be made available for free to PlayStation Plus subscribers on the PlayStation 5 when it releases on 6th April. Even better news: the game is launching in little over a month, so surely Sony can’t squeeze it into yet another livestream. It’s felt like Groundhog Day with this title, hasn’t it?

To clarify, the game is launching on both PS5 and PS4, but only the next-gen version will be free – it’s the same deal as Bugsnax, if you recall. Introducing the title on the PlayStation Blog, Lorne Lanning explained: “Soulstorm is the second game in quintology. In it, you will explore massive cinematic scale and weird and wonderful 2.9D environments filled with breathtaking visuals. 2.9D lets you venture into the world. It creates greater scale and action. Adds depth and immersion.”

Also, just to reiterate: this game will be free in April. We still have no idea what March’s PS Plus lineup looks like.
