Re: Feature: October on PS4 Is Packed with Promising Games

GooRoo

Voted PS VR, but I am excited for World of Final Fantasy too. I want everything on the list eventually, with the exception of Dragonball, but my backlog is enormous as it is. I'll wait for sales. Hoping Black Friday brings some good deals on these games!

Re: The Assembly Lines Up in Time for PlayStation VR Launch

GooRoo

Haven't heard of this one, but that price is going to have to come down quite a bit for me to bite regardless of how good it may be. Already have VR Worlds, Batman, RIGS, Battlezone, and Until Dawn all pre-ordered. Won't have time for anything else anyway, except maybe VR Playroom...and Driveclub...and....

Re: Embrace Your Awful Social Life with SportsBarVR on PS4

GooRoo

VR "gloves" would be cool, to where you could actually reach out and pick up the chess piece to move it on the board. I haven't had the chance to try VR yet but I am guessing playing chess in VR would still require some sort of maneuver where you hover over the piece with the controller, press a button to pick it up, and so on.
I guess a move controller could decently simulate a cue stick or a dart, but it might be clunky on chess. Still sounds like a cool little game.

Re: Poll: Will You Be Buying a PS4 Pro?

GooRoo

I'll get one eventually. I have the right TV, but the lack of the UHD drive really was for me a deciding factor to wait for a good sale rather than a day one purchase. With the old PS4 getting the HDR upgrade I'll be happy to play around with that for a while before jumping onto the "triple decker" Pro train.

Re: Review: AdVenture Capitalist (PS4)

GooRoo

My wife and I love this game. I've got mine going on my account, hers on her account. It's just so much fun to play a few minutes and come back later and see what you can do. I'm still in the very early stages but I agree Sammy, it's really quite addictive.

Re: Hands On: AdVenture Capitalist May Be PS4's Most Annoyingly Addictive Game

GooRoo

My wife and I are having fun turning it on every so often and seeing where we're at. The game essentially plays itself even when the system is turned off. I agree Sammy, it's good, simple, and surprisingly addictive fun. Doubt it will last beyond when I get all the trophies, but it's an enjoyable diversion for when you only have a couple of minutes.

Re: Disney Infinity 3.0 Arrives on PS4, PS3 from a Galaxy Far, Far Away

GooRoo

Waited on 2.0 until it was all on deep sales, will likely do the same here. Two things the article didn't mention that I'm glad to see is a lower entry price point and the elimination of "blind packs" for the power discs. I never really messed with them for that reason (and I actually did buy a pack, once, and later bought another and got the same exact two discs...that was enough for me).

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 65

GooRoo

Little bits of everything. Finishing up Nightmare mode on Skylanders Swap Force PS4. Sparkle 2 PS4/Vita. Started Shaun White Skateboarding PS3 the other day. Maybe MLB 14 on the Vita. Pretty random grouping. LOL. Sunday afternoon/evening through is dedicated to baseball and Extreme Rules.

Re: Talking Point: Is This Gaming's Most Disappointing Ever Year?

GooRoo

Going back to the GotY discussion for a moment, for me it's been Wolfenstein hands down. I had a blast with it. It was polished and hugely entertaining. It was focused and did what it did very well. No multiplayer might be its downfall in the discussion, but I was thrilled that it gave all its attention to its story, campaign, gameplay, etc, not muddied it down with another multiplayer clone that would have likely differed from all the others only by its skins.

Granted I have yet to play Unity and Watch_Dogs and DriveClub among the big titles, and outside of Watch_Dogs I don't know if I will. But if we are talking multi-plats and no remasters (which excludes Halo, LoU, and GTA) then it pretty much comes down to Wolfenstein for me. I had Destiny on Xbox One and sold it after it got really boring after the dull campaign and I could barely connect for about a week. Advanced Warfare has been fun but nothing I feel like I would replay in the future.

Maybe LittleBigPlanet 3 or Far Cry 4 will swoop in at the last minute and take the crown. I can't wait for Far Cry...

Re: Yoshida: DriveClub: PS Plus Edition Delayed on PS4 Until Further Notice

GooRoo

There's a buy 2 get 1 free sale at Target coming up soon. I don't know what I will be getting besides NBA 2K15, but DriveClub won't be one of the games, not even if I were to count it as the "free" one. I don't know if I will even bother with the PS+ version when/if it ever sees the light of day.

At the very least, PlayStation, and hopefully the entire industry, will use this is a major learning moment.

Re: PSN Down as Sony's Servers Feel PS4 Firmware Update 2.00 Strain

GooRoo

I had a few minutes so I was going to play some NBA...downloaded the update and now NBA won't let me play because, for whatever reason, MyCareer demands I be online. Can't connect to the PSN store, look at trophies, anything...

The 2.0 update downloaded and installed just fine. Grrr.

Re: Guide: Everything You Need to Know About PlayStation TV

GooRoo

Yeah, I think one of the major reasons the Vita failed was due to the outrageously priced memory cards.

As for the device in question, I like it. I don't play "on the go" that much, anyway (and have a 3DS XL anyway), and the thought of playing most of my Vita games on the TV with a Dualshock 4 is appealing (but the Uncharted game, arguably one of the top three biggest games on the Vita, doesn't appear on the list...does it utilize too many touch features? That's disappointing).

I have a $25 Best Buy gift card burning a hole in my virtual wallet, but then again Black Friday is right around the corner. I would love to use that gift card with a price-reduced model at, say, $75 and get it for $50 rather than $75 right now.

Re: The LEGO Movie Videogame May Be PS4's Most Colourful Release Yet

GooRoo

We're about halfway through the story on the PS3. We're loving it so far, but it looks a bit washed out and dialogue is presented at a very low volume (it's almost impossible to hear Morgan Freeman's voice). Anyway, we ordered the PS4 version, too, because we had Best Buy certs to use and for the extra free ticket to go see the movie. Hope the PS4 version looks and sound a little better! As for the game, it's a ton of fun so far, though it appears to lack the scope of Lego Marvel or Lego Batman 2.
