Mine shipped this morning for delivery tomorrow. Can't wait! I already have Batman sitting here and Playroom on the hard drive. A few more games are inbound (Rigs, Battlezone, Until Dawn, VR Worlds, going to pick up Job Simulator digital as well). Going to be a good day tomorrow!
Voted PS VR, but I am excited for World of Final Fantasy too. I want everything on the list eventually, with the exception of Dragonball, but my backlog is enormous as it is. I'll wait for sales. Hoping Black Friday brings some good deals on these games!
Haven't heard of this one, but that price is going to have to come down quite a bit for me to bite regardless of how good it may be. Already have VR Worlds, Batman, RIGS, Battlezone, and Until Dawn all pre-ordered. Won't have time for anything else anyway, except maybe VR Playroom...and Driveclub...and....
VR "gloves" would be cool, to where you could actually reach out and pick up the chess piece to move it on the board. I haven't had the chance to try VR yet but I am guessing playing chess in VR would still require some sort of maneuver where you hover over the piece with the controller, press a button to pick it up, and so on. I guess a move controller could decently simulate a cue stick or a dart, but it might be clunky on chess. Still sounds like a cool little game.
I'll get one eventually. I have the right TV, but the lack of the UHD drive really was for me a deciding factor to wait for a good sale rather than a day one purchase. With the old PS4 getting the HDR upgrade I'll be happy to play around with that for a while before jumping onto the "triple decker" Pro train.
My wife and I love this game. I've got mine going on my account, hers on her account. It's just so much fun to play a few minutes and come back later and see what you can do. I'm still in the very early stages but I agree Sammy, it's really quite addictive.
My wife and I are having fun turning it on every so often and seeing where we're at. The game essentially plays itself even when the system is turned off. I agree Sammy, it's good, simple, and surprisingly addictive fun. Doubt it will last beyond when I get all the trophies, but it's an enjoyable diversion for when you only have a couple of minutes.
I love my Playstation, but there are some features I wish it would take from the Xbox One, namely backwards compatibility and achievement (trophy) progress tracking.
That said, MS' video is nowhere near as classic as PS'
Really want to start Dragon Quest Heroes, but I want to finish up God of War III Remastered first. Probably next week for DQH. Also going to be catching up on Lego Dimensions and Skylanders Superchargers.
Waited on 2.0 until it was all on deep sales, will likely do the same here. Two things the article didn't mention that I'm glad to see is a lower entry price point and the elimination of "blind packs" for the power discs. I never really messed with them for that reason (and I actually did buy a pack, once, and later bought another and got the same exact two discs...that was enough for me).
Little bits of everything. Finishing up Nightmare mode on Skylanders Swap Force PS4. Sparkle 2 PS4/Vita. Started Shaun White Skateboarding PS3 the other day. Maybe MLB 14 on the Vita. Pretty random grouping. LOL. Sunday afternoon/evening through is dedicated to baseball and Extreme Rules.
Another vote for external drives. I have a 4TB drive on the X1 and it's heaven to know I don't have to even consider storage space. All my multiplats are going X1 now for this reason. Space. Ease. External support would drive me back to the PS4.
I sold this thing a long time ago, actually made a few dollars with the discounts I got when I bought it. I don't regret it one bit. It was fun to a point but the last week I had it I could never connect, and all of the little annoyances in the game kept adding up. Now things like this make me even happier I dumped it.
Going back to the GotY discussion for a moment, for me it's been Wolfenstein hands down. I had a blast with it. It was polished and hugely entertaining. It was focused and did what it did very well. No multiplayer might be its downfall in the discussion, but I was thrilled that it gave all its attention to its story, campaign, gameplay, etc, not muddied it down with another multiplayer clone that would have likely differed from all the others only by its skins.
Granted I have yet to play Unity and Watch_Dogs and DriveClub among the big titles, and outside of Watch_Dogs I don't know if I will. But if we are talking multi-plats and no remasters (which excludes Halo, LoU, and GTA) then it pretty much comes down to Wolfenstein for me. I had Destiny on Xbox One and sold it after it got really boring after the dull campaign and I could barely connect for about a week. Advanced Warfare has been fun but nothing I feel like I would replay in the future.
Maybe LittleBigPlanet 3 or Far Cry 4 will swoop in at the last minute and take the crown. I can't wait for Far Cry...
There's a buy 2 get 1 free sale at Target coming up soon. I don't know what I will be getting besides NBA 2K15, but DriveClub won't be one of the games, not even if I were to count it as the "free" one. I don't know if I will even bother with the PS+ version when/if it ever sees the light of day.
At the very least, PlayStation, and hopefully the entire industry, will use this is a major learning moment.
I had a few minutes so I was going to play some NBA...downloaded the update and now NBA won't let me play because, for whatever reason, MyCareer demands I be online. Can't connect to the PSN store, look at trophies, anything...
The 2.0 update downloaded and installed just fine. Grrr.
Yeah, I think one of the major reasons the Vita failed was due to the outrageously priced memory cards.
As for the device in question, I like it. I don't play "on the go" that much, anyway (and have a 3DS XL anyway), and the thought of playing most of my Vita games on the TV with a Dualshock 4 is appealing (but the Uncharted game, arguably one of the top three biggest games on the Vita, doesn't appear on the list...does it utilize too many touch features? That's disappointing).
I have a $25 Best Buy gift card burning a hole in my virtual wallet, but then again Black Friday is right around the corner. I would love to use that gift card with a price-reduced model at, say, $75 and get it for $50 rather than $75 right now.
We're about halfway through the story on the PS3. We're loving it so far, but it looks a bit washed out and dialogue is presented at a very low volume (it's almost impossible to hear Morgan Freeman's voice). Anyway, we ordered the PS4 version, too, because we had Best Buy certs to use and for the extra free ticket to go see the movie. Hope the PS4 version looks and sound a little better! As for the game, it's a ton of fun so far, though it appears to lack the scope of Lego Marvel or Lego Batman 2.
Excellent. Means there won't be any multiplayer trophies, either. Glad to hear it's third person, too...I prefer that to FPS. The game just moved up towards the top of my buy list.
Love the series, perhaps my favorite ever. Disappointing, but I have both platforms so I won't be missing out. BTW, constructive feedback time: the character's last name is spelled "Fenix."

Re: Video: Yes We Cat! Becoming a Kitty with PlayStation VR
Nice! I never finished getting the Platinum on this so this gives me a reason to go back to it.
Re: Round Up: Mafia III Takes a Bullet or Two in First Reviews
Sounds like one to wait for until it drops to under $20.
Re: Feature: October on PS4 Is Packed with Promising Games
I haven't even played Mafia II yet. I have the CE gathering dust on my shelf. Time is not on my side.

The hype is real. I'm really excited for this. Sammy, how adjustable is the headset for different head sizes? I've got a really big head myself.
Re: Battleborn's Probably Maybe Possibly Going Free-to-Play Soon
Retail copies have plummeted in price really fast. I guess this is the next logical drop.

Re: Bleep Buttons Beware! PS4 Sucks on Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition's D*ckt*ts
I played this on the 360. I enjoyed it. Will definitely pick it up again on PS4, though probably not until it hits the sub-$20 range.
Re: Amazon UK Sells FIFA 17, LEGO Star Wars PS4 Bundles for £149

Looks like a good list. I don't own any of them. Hope they continue wth a solid lineup from here on out.

I might pick it up a year or two after it releases when it's under $20. I wouldn't pay full price.
