Update: Following the leak earlier today, it has now been confirmed that the release date for Sonic Frontiers is indeed 8th November 2022. The news comes alongside a story trailer, which comprises a mix of gameplay and cinematics.

It's looking better in this latest video, but the proof will be in the playing. We're excited to check this one out for ourselves, but until then, what do you think? How's Sonic Frontiers looking in this new trailer? Let us know down below.

Original Story: A Japanese trailer for Sonic Frontiers has inadvertently revealed the game's release date a little early.

According to the video — which is now inaccessible — SEGA's open zone platformer comes to both PS5 and PS4 on 8th November 2022:

Sonic Frontiers is due to make an appearance during Gamescom Opening Night Live in a matter of hours, so it now seems certain we'll get proper confirmation of its release date during the presentation.

Assuming the date is for a worldwide launch, it means the hedgehog is going up against Kratos, as God of War Ragnarok launches the day after, on 9th November. Obviously they're aiming for slightly different audiences, so we're sure both games will do perfectly well regardless.

Anyway, we'll update you all on any news from Sonic Frontiers, and indeed Gamescom, as it happens, so keep your eyes peeled. Are you excited to play Sonic's latest adventure this November? Put your running shoes on in the comments section below.
