There are loads of new PS5 games to play this weekend, from remasters of classics like Oblivion and more recent hits in Days Gone, to brand new titles such as Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. Here's what we're spending our time playing for the next two days.
Jamie O'Neill
I'm hoping to wake up my old OLED PlayStation Vita from its slumber, and download the original PS1 version of Final Fantasy VII. It's one of 1997's greatest games, after all.
Liam Croft
I've got Days Gone Remastered on the go alongside quite a few other upcoming games I'm playing for review.
Robert Ramsey
Oblivion Remastered has well and truly got its hooks into me. It's been quite a while since a game had me staying up into the wee hours of the morning, totally losing track of time — but Bethesda's open world design just remains so dangerously addictive. Another 20 hours over the weekend surely wouldn't hurt...
Stephen Tailby
RPGs are hit and miss for me, but I'm super intrigued by Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, especially after all its glowing reviews. I'll be getting started with that this weekend — I really hope it can live up to all the hype!
That's what we're playing this weekend, but how about you? Share your picks in the comments below.

This weekend I will play some Blasphemous 2 on the Switch.
I also started a new character in Elden Ring. This time I will try to play with a Faith build
And lastly, for some nostalgia, Shadowgate Classic on the Gameboy Color
Happy gaming everyone!!!
Loving the Oblivion remake. It definitely is a nearly 20 year old game, but I’ve got into the loop of strengthening the character and saving up for all the training.
I did have one slow down of the game rate near Kvatch Oblivion gate, but restarting the PS5 fixed it, so I’m guessing it’s a memory leak which hopefully they can fix, other than that it’s been fine.
Also put 50 hours into Blue Prince in the evenings. It’s showing a fair bit more depth than I thought it had at the start. Just had a load of new rooms appear including going underground.
I’ve downloaded the Days Gone remake but I think it will have to wait until after Oblivion.
Have a great weekend folks!
Vampire Survivors on the Switch as always.
Getting thrashed by the computer on Snooker 19 (really need to lower the difficulty) on the PS5.
All whilst nursing a hangover 🤕
Enjoy your gaming weekend everyone!
By Azura, by Azura, by Azura! I'm playing Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered!
14 hours in and I'm already level 12, having pocketed over 5000 gold! But have only been through five dungeons thanks to being an utter loot goblin and having to make several trips to and fro.
Made a Redguard for the first time in an Elder Scrolls game and I think she looks rather good!
Have a good weekend everyone!
Just a little ways into my Hard playthrough of Devil May Cry having finished my first run on Normal last night. I’m actually pretty surprised by how difficult I found some of the later bosses on Normal, so these subsequent difficulties are gonna be issues, no doubt about it.
As far as the game goes, I like it well enough… but not as much as I was expecting to. I get that it was the progenitor of the Character-Action genre and limited by the hardware available at the time… but I’m not enjoying the combat as much as I did with other games within the genre that came later. I have a feeling 3, 4 and 5 will address my issues when I get to them though. Happy wknd y’all!
Trails in the Sky Second Chapter is taking up all my gaming time at the moment and will continue to do so this weekend. Even though so far most of the game has been retreading almost exactly the same locations, assets and music as the original (I believe Falcom decided to split their planned game in half?), I'm thoroughly enjoying being back in Liberl again. The story is engaging, the world-building is fantastic, and the characters are charming (Estelle and Olivier especially really crack me up). The only thing I'm disappointed about so far in this second part is that there's been so much less effort put into the empty chest messages 😁
Running around Oblivion:Remastered looting and shooting my bow at everything. I forgot how annoying the mud crabs were, several have snuck up on me. 😂 Also I also forgot it had zombies, took me by surprise.
I finished Blue Prince yesterday (which was fantastic) so have now moved onto Oblivion.
I’ve fallen off Skyrim multiple times over the years but this one is starting to click. I’m just wandering around doing the occasional side quest and levelling up at the moment. Not really sure what I’m doing but exploring the mines and dungeons is fun nonetheless.
Finally platniumed Alan Wake 2. Incredible game. Just started up Indy now. Enjoy the weekend all
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33
If anything beats this to my personal GOTY, I will be amazed.
Expedition 33 all the way for me. Loving it!
Back after working manically for the last 2 weekends ! Time for long, quality gaming sessions !
Could only be ES IV Oblivion on XBX and it's amazing- understandably buggy though, bring on those patches
Also thinking about starting Clar Obscura time allowing.
Not a popular opinion here but XBX gamepass is killing it right now - I've Oblivion , South of Midnight Atomfall Avowed Borderlands3 and Ninja Gaiden Black all on the GP backburner....my PS5 will be feeling unloved soon 😀
Have a great weekend guys and gals ❤️
Having more trouble than usual picking what game to focus on as right now there are both new games I reeeeaaaally want to play and at the same time the games in the backlog are looking at me with those puppy eyes wanting to be played as well. Ah well, its a nice problem to have. On to the games 😅
South of Midnight - played and finished. Its pretty good, loved the world and the art design and the soundtrack is very interesting and the story was decent. The fighting and the gameplay loop got a bit tedious but overall I enjoyed it!
Lost records - Started this before Oblivion remastered shadowdropped all of a sudden and Clair Obscure turned out to be a must play but I’ll finish this first. Its good, I’m not blown away yet but hopefully it’ll get there soon as I’ve not played for long but its not the same instant love as I had with LiS!
Also, the son really loves the Oblivion remaster. Its awesome to watch him play and be able to help him with some stuff instead of him watching YouTube videos for hints, I’m surprised how much I remember as I havent played this for 17 years or so. Cant wait to play it again myself 🙂
Greetings fellow video game enthusiasts. Having finished Kingdom Hearts 3, I will now turn my attention to Atelier Yumia. I’ve played an Atelier/Gust game every year around spring/summer for the past 3 years, and I still have so many to play. Have a great weekend everyone.
I am 80 hours in and have 80% completed of Avatar Frontiers of Pandora, so I shall press on with that. There will be the expansions to do at the end, and for once I think I will do them. It's a great game, I do love a Ubisoft open world.
Expedition 33 just arrived in the post a few minutes ago so I'm currently installing that, but for now I'll still be chasing the FF VII Rebirth plat and dungeoneering in Oblivion.
@HallowMoonshadow it really is great to be playing this again isn't it ? They've done such a good job with this remaster, although it's understandably buggy ......brings back such nostalgic feelings of playing this in 2006 !
Very busy week, bouncing between Oblivion, Clair Obscur and Forza 5. 3 big hitters released within days of each other 😉
@mac_da_man I've got South of Midnight installed and added to the backlog ! Looks great, is it as good as it looks ? How long did it take you complete it ?
Finished Sniper Elite 5 yesterday and still playing AC Shadows and some PGA tour on PS5. On Xbox I'm going between Oblivion and Clair Obscur. I might drop Oblivion for now and buy it later in the year for PS5 as it doesn't run very well on Series S.
Pentiment and hopefully starting Metaphor. So many great games so little time.
@graymamba Wait until you play it on Dante Must Die difficulty, it'll have you weeping tears of blood. Finishing the game on DMD difficulty with an S-rank on every level is one of my fondest gaming memories, but I freely admit I had to use a strategy guide to do it. And then tons of practice! And it's not even the hardest game in the series...
Not back at work until next Saturday, so I'm bouncing between Clair Obscura: Expedition 33 and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. A beautiful looking, beautiful sounding game with an intriguing plot. Loving it despite dieing often.
Baldur's Gate 3. 4th playthrough and it's still just as good.
80 hours into Cyberpunk 2077 and only at 40% of the main game, with the DLC to go after that. Still loving every minute of it.
Clair Obscur most likely. I booted it up yesterday to start and I quite enjoyed what I’ve played thus far. Took long enough for someone to make a game that pushes what FF13 did forward.
Outside that, I typically play a fair amount of arcade games and realistically anything on Gamepass is fair game right now. I put an end date on my sub, so my family is all over it right now, but honestly, I may extend, given the frankly fantastic slate GP has had this year.
I will be playing the instant classic in the amazing resident evil 7 gold edition.i will also be playing fan favorite the excellent doom 2016.i will also be playing one of the best fps in the incredible titanfall 2.i will also be playing the awesome classic in crisis core final fantasy 7 the reunion.i will also be playing one of my favorite jrpgs ever in the wonderful scarlet nexus with all the dlcs.i will also be playing one of the best rpgs ever.in the tremendous dragon quest 11 echoes of the elusive age definitive edition. And I will play the instant classic hit in the phenomenal yakuza like a dragon.i will be watching my boston celtics 💚 🖤 play.i will also be watching legendary sitcoms TV comedy shows in family matters.good times.Sanford and son.the Jeffersons. Different strokes.and save by the bell.word up son
I finally finished Black Myth Wukong last night with the true ending and it was immense, loved every minute and gonna get the plat. So I am now enjoying a bit of Astrobot for a change of pace before Indy maybe!
Happy gaming folks
@TimeDelayedGamer yeah I won’t be bothering going for S Ranks when doing my Dante Must Die run as it isn’t required for the platinum. I know it is for the later games though, so I’ll be attempting it on them at the very least. Just getting the platinum on this one will more than satiate me tbh 😅
Finished Jedi Survivor Thursday. Just in time for Days Gone Remastered. Most of the time Will be DG mixed with some Arma Reforger.
Have a great weekend.
@Zuljaras welcome back
No idea what I'll be playing. In a gaming lull awaiting getting Indy for my birthday
Hopefully finish AC Shadows then jump into Expedition 33
@rusty82 thank you!
I was playing Final Fantasy 9 on my RGX35, and thought I might finally give the Memoria and Moguri mods a go on my Steam Deck, and they are super impressive! The game just looks fantastic with the higher resolution backgrounds, many of which are adjusted to fit a wide screen. It also feels brilliant with proper analog controls running at 60+ FPS and fast, snappy menus. There are loads of other little tweaks you can do like font adjustments, mist density on the world map. I am even playing Tetra Master with the Triple Triad rules. It’s pure class, and by far the best way you can play FF9.
I’m also playing Exhibition 33 which I am enjoying a lot so far.
Loving turn based combat in 2025!!
Dropped everything to play Expedition 33. I expected a lot, but it still managed to exceed my expectations.
Got an urge for some Ubisoft classics so dusting off the PS3 for some Splinter Cell with a bit of Prince of Persia, gotta love those old HD Triple Packs. Have a good weekend all!
Expedition 33 for me. I'm also going to try to put in a little time here and there on SF6 after taking a long break thanks to AC Shadows. Gotta keep sharp for EVO after all!
Though Expedition 33 might just take up all my time anyway instead. Too many great games!
I need to finish Robocop but Expedition 33 is hard to shutoff.
I'm surprised that Oblivion Remastered is working so well for me, but I'm just going with it. I'm not sure I will dip into anything else.
@kyleforrester87 IX is my favorite in the series, so I guess I should give the mods a go. I bet I could get this going on my Retroid...
@KingPev
I enjoyed it, so give it a try! Took me maybe around 10 hours or so to finish
Trotting through Raya Academy in Elden Ring, an area I usually rush through. There are quite a few secrets I'd forgotten about or just outright missed. I've been taking my time and it's been quite relaxing, apart from everyone I meet trying to kill me.
I’ll be playing kcd 2 on the ps5pro. Cyberpunk 2077 on my pc with all the fancy traced rays at 40fps/120hz and a bunch of sims 4.
@Zuljaras back in the top spot mate..well seeing as my wonderful wife surprised me yesterday by presenting me with my gtplayer profile cockpit for my steering wheel I'm spending the weekend rallying. Took me all night to assemble the bloody thing but it's so damn cool..Time to start saving for a serious wheel upgrade now. Have a great weekend folks 👍
Almost getting to the end of Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver Remastered and close to complete the missions in Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion .I want those plats.
Still playing Wanderer (psvr2) and hitman (psvr2). The developers of Wanderer just posted a long patch-roadmap. So, clearly the game launched despite it delays a couple of months too early. Still, it is very playable now and it is an amazing adventure (often like a point and click adventure), but also has less succeeded combat. Anyway, probably best played after summer, but the developer deserves appreciation. For hitman I currently lack patience, and I am too tempted to go in full assault, but then only last a couple of minutes ... . Anyway also an amazing psvr2 game.
This weekend I’m finally playing something different than what I have for the last month and a half. That said, I’ll provide a quick update.
The First Berserker: Khazan - I’m on the final boss, Ozma. I’m taking a hiatus momentarily because I’m feeling the burn out. I only have a handful of collectibles left to find. Once I do, and defeat him, I should get the platinum!
Xenoblade Chronicles X Definitive Edition - I finally beat the base game at the 86 hour mark. All characters were level 54-55, with max affinity with them all. It was an absolute sublime experience. The ending was fantastic, and the post credits scene was mind blowing. I’m going to put the game aside for a few days before I jump in to finish the epilogue, but right now I feel satiated. Overall, this has become my favorite RPG franchise. Can we get a sequel, please?
As for what I’m playing now, my time is being consumed by Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. What a debut from Sandfall Interactive. I haven’t been this enamored with a turn-based RPG in quite some time — sorry, Metaphor — and this game hits all of the correct notes.
Funnily enough, Clair is your quintessential RPG. You will find wall of your typical tropes — “chests” at the end of offbeat paths, acquiring party members, traversing a world map, having campouts in the wild, skill trees, and boss fights at the end of the dungeon; however, all of these puzzle pieces that define this genre are presented in a unique fashion, making it feel fresh. It’s hard to do that with a game — redefining a genre that other developers will take inspiration from.
You immediately get an ominous feeling as soon as the game begins. The world is vibrant, but the tone and inhabitants are somber. Life is getting shorter for its residents, and people are trying to end this cycle of death. While doing so, the world building comes into play. Philosophical questions are raised by the looming presence of death, quite literally, and how people live their lives are always in debate. Why bring children into this world when they may not live but only a few years? How can you be content seeing your fate in the distance? The game may be fantastical in set dressing, but the characters and human nature are entirely relatable. I won’t provide any story spoilers, but let’s just say it’s as depressing, yet compelling as the premise sounds.
Where the game truly shines is in its combat. This game might just feature the best turn-based combat in any (J)RPG ever made. Every party member has a unique set of skills that are very useful. Moreover, it keeps you engaged because it’s not as simple as “press x and attack” every time when discovering the enemies weakness. You’re involved the entire time because you can dodge enemy attacks, and there is even a parry mechanic that lets you counter attack if successful, similar to Sekiro. Some attacks require you to jump over an attack. Meanwhile, there are QTE’s that enhance your attacks if performed at the correct time. There is so much depth, and I’ve barely scratched the surface of it.
I can’t stop thinking about this game. It’s truly a masterclass in nearly every facet. GOTY material? Expedition: Yes.
I just dust off my old red Nintendo 3DS so i can played Zelda: A Link Between Worlds. I still have a save file where i reach the mirror world but i never get the chance to finish this game. Now i'm playing it again from the very beginning and it still fun to play :3
And as always i'm grinding on SF 6. I got deranked from High Master but now i'm very close to ranked up again. It's just weird to see some people say they got bored with this game or claim the meta is stale. Meanwhile i'm still finding new stuff to learn just by watching pro players matches. For season 3, i hope Capcom didn't do stupid sh*ts like what Bamco did with Tekken 8 season 2...
Have a good weekend everyone 🍻
More reading than playing this week, with choose-your-own-adventure game The Life and Suffering of Sir Brante. A story from birth to death of a judge in a fantasy setting similar to the French Revolution.

I enjoyed it very much, and its the kind of story that really couldn't be experienced any other way. Except for a real CYOA book, but then you'd have to track all the stats with pen and paper and it would be a pain in the ass.
@LikelySatan it’s a really good time! I should clarify I am running the mods on my steam deck though. The installation process was super easy - just one line from the konsole in desktop mode.
Forza 5 and AC Shadows
@Jrs1 ...quality weekend of gaming right there !
@AgentCooper ...it really is one of the best games of all time in my opinion
@KingPev Cheers bro 👍
Hitman Absolution cos it's paired with Blood Money which I've never played. Beat Absolution on my 360 back in the day but felt like going through it again
I'm about 8 hours into Clair Obscure and it is incredible. The options and depth you can see opening up for the combat is very exciting. Can't wait to play more. I was 70% of the way through last of us 2, and had played four hours of the metaphor demo as it is on sale but can't see either of those getting a look in before I finish Expedition 33!!! Glad I picked this over Oblivion- find it amusing this is getting a pass from people for being 'expectedly buggy' people get aggro at any game having small bugs in, yet Oblivion its to be expected so thats fine 😂
Expedition 33 which is already my GOTY unless Death Stranding 2 can prove me wrong.
Otherwise it’ll be finishing up Blue Prince and First Beserker of Khazan.
I did finish all 6 endings for Atomfall this week as well.
What a year already for me. Those games are all easily the best games of the year and can see only one or two others knocking them down for me.
Just finishing up Hogwarts Legacy.
Been quite addicted to this and enjoyed it more than I thought I would.
My student life is coming to an end, again and then back to Hitman psvr2 currently in Marrakesh, I can almost sell the spices.
@Marquez just said the same thing below! Scrolled up and glad to see I’m not the only one who feels that way already.
Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, the sequel that seemed like it would never get made. Really like what I've played. Might challenge Street Fighter 6 for my favorite fighting game this gen.
Eerr forza horizon 5 , it's as good as they say
Forza Horizon 5. Played it to death on my XSX 2 or 3 years back, and having just as much fun playing through it again. It's magical.
And Sackboy! started it last week, and having so much fun with it, better than I'd hoped, and such a banging soundtrack!
Working on the completionism for LaD Ishin. Just a little left to tidy up for the plat.
Had planned to play Oblivion Remaster until I learnt they, incredibly, hadn’t fixed the level scaling.
Nothing new out that's grabbed me so I'm replaying Dragon Age: Inquisition. First time since its release - just like books, I enjoy replaying/rereading after a decade or so to see how my perception's changed. I'm about 85 hours in this replay, & according to my PS5, that makes it over 500 played hours in total!!
@kyleforrester87 Choco Digging, not kind to the thumbs but best minigame EVER 😀
@JbumiSandra I haven't played it since 2014, but it's in my top 3 most played. About 200 hrs or so from what I recall.
During the latest PS Store sale, I caved and bought Pirate Yakuza. Having a great time with it so far.
Over on Xbox, I finished up South of Midnight. It is a fantastic game. When it inevitably makes its way to PS5, I highly recommend it.
Taking my time with Rise Of The Ronin and also playing some MP matches of COD BO6 here and there. RotR is a good game but it’s not holding my interest for long periods of time and it feels like Ghost Of Tsushima lite. Maybe I’m just looking forward to some of the games coming out in the next few months so I’m just biding my time? Whatever the case…… happy gaming everyone!
The question should be what am I not playing , so many great games lately
@Westernwolf4 I loved south of midnight , hoping the sequel is much bigger and expands on the characters more.
Expedition 33, but I'm not sure I'll continue with it.
The lack of minimap is hurting my enjoyment, so it's a shame, but maybe it isn't a game for me after all.
Skyrim. While Oblivion is tempting, the $65 price tag is too high for a 20 year old game, so I'm trophy hunting with an obnoxiously OP build in Skyrim (thanks Fortify Restoration loop!).
Oblivion, it's pretty much my entire weekend and the first game I played in a while now where objectives went out the window and pure good old exploration took the drivers seat. Also mischief.
Stat-wise I'm at: 31hrs played (I've been sleeping) lvl14, 3.7k items borrowed, 53 items borrowed from pockets, 70 days passed, sneak to 60, security to 60, and I'm saving up 47k gold to buy a home and upgrade it. Once I have a place to put all of my stuff I'll focus more on questing. I've had to leave all of my gear outside in barrels then sneak into stores with nothing but my lockpicks. It sounds like something out of the movie Manhunter (original Silence of The Lambs) but it just means I can carry more.
I'm trying to arrange a Nyotaimori (naked sushi) on this man.
Finally beat Viper in Khazam the First Bezerker. Ashamed to say how long it took, but it's done. On to the next boss. Also playing Mandragora, that was a suprise that came out of nowhere. Very enjoyable so far, and hilarious. Such as beating one of the bosses who asks you for a last request, then tells you to "F your face with a rusty fork."
@GirlVersusGame Wow, just reminded me of Showdown from Little Tokyo, a super cheesy hilarious 80s movie. One of the lines "We're gonna bust these guys! And then, we're gonna go eat sushi off those naked chicks!" Love the pic.
@lazarus11 I was just telling a friend yesterday that I really hope there is a South of Midnight sequel. I would be there Day 1!
@Michael2008ish I was digging for treasure for a full hour the other night and had to force myself to stop 😂
@GirlVersusGame lol, great screenshot.
@Lup, have only played the intro really, so can't comment. Kinda shame you don't like it.
Clair Obscur 100%
Been at work today but my plan tomorrow is hammer it all-day as there's no F1 this weekend
The main games I will be playing are WWE 2K25, Fatal Fury City of the Wolves, Lunar Remastered Collection, and Mario Party Jamboree.
Baldur's Gate 3
Still going. A couple of frustrating almost unbalanced battles are making this take even longer than expected. I want to rescue Shadowheart's parents, but it's so frustratingly unfair even on Explorer difficulty that I may have to stop that mission and move on.
@Michael2008ish
I love it. I just have a terrible sense of direction.
First two areas were alright, no problems. Third one got frustrating for me.
I know it's a "me" problem.
I wouldn't like to continue and feel like it gets worse with every area.
Also stopping playing one day and continuing the next disorients me without a map (mini or not).
Love everything else about the game.
@Steeleye50 I read 'chicks' as 'cheeks'. I forgot that movie even existed, I watched it for Brandon Lee. It was right before Rapid Fire and The Crow. The Crow would make such a great game, a great city, great music, violence where violence is needed, supernatural powers.
@GirlVersusGame the scene in the crow, where he's getting his crow on to the cures burn, one of the most iconic scenes in the history of movies, still gives me goosebumps , excellent film.
@ApostateMage I died a lot more on Clair Obscur until I switched to performance mode - it made timing parries so much easier. So if you're playing on quality, that switch might help.
Almost through Chapter 8 of Lies of P which I picked up after beating Khazan. Running a tech build but switched from a dagger to the booster glaive with bonecutting saw and having a blast.
Will set aside a couple hours to start Clair Obscur, had my eye on it for a while so glad it turned out well.
Have a great weekend everyone.
@GirlVersusGame lol cheeks! That's awesome! Yeah that movie was a trip. Crow would be awesome, but sad seeing anything with it without Brandon Lee. Have a good weekend!
@whitejessegpfc I just beat Lies of P too for the first time recently. Last chapter was insane but the game is so good.
@Lup I dislike the fact there isn’t a mini/map as well. With that said, I’ve learned how to traverse the world and find all the collectibles even with no map. Essentially, if I’m exploring and find a flag to save my game, I go in the opposite direction because the flag is leading you to the next story beat.
On the final missions of Veilguard. I’ve really come to enjoy all the characters in the team and it’s quite moving.
Also enjoying It Takes Two with my boy.
Finally I downloaded Forager, so will give that a try.
I'm enjoying Clair Obscur a lot. The only other turn-based games I've beaten are Pokemon games, so this is a welcome surprise
Still bouncing between the Blodsomdance Festival in Monster Hunter Wilds and HZD Remastered.
Not even tempted to hop on Sparking Zero again, shame.
Keep on Keeping on gamers!
I am playing Hogwarts Legends and it is NOT GREAT on a portal. Or my home connection is crappy, but when I play GOW:Rag it looks PHENOMENAL on both Portal and TV.
The game itself is quite fun though. I was a huge Potterhead when the story was new and fresh and so a whole new adventure is quite good. I am a perfectionist Slytherin, but want to maybe restart or have a side character as a bumbling fool of a Hufflepuff in order to fail everything that can be failed.
12 hours into Clair Obscur | Expedition 33 and oh lord is this game good. The combat is tight, the music is excellent, the writing and acting is top notch and the story is both heavy AND Whimsical!
I´ll continue playing A Plague Tale Innocence on PS5. Don´t understand why I slept on this game for so long, it´s really great.
And of course a lot of sport during a weekend, NHL and NBA play-offs, FA Cup, some darts and snooker.
Have a nice weekend and happy gaming, everyone!
PS4 - The Old Hunters
PSP - Rock Band Unplugged
Halo: Spartan Strike (Windows Phone) - After enjoying the first one it is time to beat the sequel now.
I've been playing The Last of Us: Part II for the first time ever, via the PS5 Remaster.
Just platinumed it recently, and I also finished my 2nd run on Permadeath too.
After I beat it for a 3rd time on Grounded NG+, I'll replay TLOU1 (PS4) & play Part I (PS5).
Started X-men Origins Wolverine on PS3. I really miss these type of games where it’s just pure fun and action.
ESO, Dragon Age: The Veilguard, and co-op goodness with my son and Lords of the Fallen.
@Bkzgr8ezt damn that’s a classic! Absolutely love that game! Especially putting guy’s heads up into spinning helicopter blades lol.
The only game that matters right now, Expedition 33!
@KingPev I finished South of Midnight in around ten hours as well. Most people didn’t like the combat but I thought it got a little better once you unlocked everything. The story and animation were both beautifully done and worth playing just for that.
Playing WatchDogs been doing nothing but side missions. Might upgrade to the remaster version of Days Gone tonight but need to force myself to play Mass Effect 2 for some reason I'm not really feeling this game the first Mass Effect was a lot better IMO
@kyleforrester87 I'll see if there's a way I can get it up on Winlator or something, thanks again!
Sat morning I was playing stellar blade , now almost at halfway point of the story. In the afternoon I got expedition 33 - now I can't stop playing nor thinking about it.
Expedition 33. Sort has that "if Stellar Blade was a turn based RPG" feel to it. Loving it but it also has that jank of smaller studio game. Don't get me wrong, probably will be a contender for GOTY, at least in RPG category, or my GOTY, but you can see some QA issues when you play it long enough.
@Marquez I always choose performance mode on games, it's just my poor reactions when dodging and parrying. I've re-speced my party and put at least 10 points into vitality for each character. So much better now.
Expedition 33 is sublime, Im really enjoying it.
A freind came round last night and wanted to see the Days Gone remaster. I was shocked by how much better it looks on the pro, as all the media Id seen till then seemed to show little difference. We were playing that almost all night, and I cant wait to give that some serious attention..
Whatever you are playing this weekend I hope you are having fun!
@ApostateMage Good to hear you've found a workaround. While performance mode definitely improved my fortunes I am still not a parry master! I usually go for quality first to see just how nice a game can look, before switching to performance. I just left it too long in this case and it definitely affected my progress/enjoyment.
@DonkeyFantasy Yo buddy what is the Nurburgring League and what channel is it on? That sounds like perfect viewing to me!
I just delete all the games off my PS5, installed games from my backlog I plan on completing and a couple of pallet cleansers.
Then I bought Clair Obscur.
So guess I'm playing that. Oh well.
After finishing Red Dead Redemption last weekend, I have jumped back into Sekiro. When I last played it I had beaten the Chained Ogre and left it there. Now I'm on Lady Butterfly & Ashina Reservoir. So have done a good bit since picking it up again. Also got the platinum for The Last Campfire as a break from Sekiro last night. I received Armoured Core 6 in the post as well, never played a mech game before but am really curious, as I love them in anime and other media!
Started Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered - never played the OG game and I decided to forgo any prior study (as I usually do for RPG or Soulslike games) and just threw myself in the pile.
Just 2 things about it I wanna mention
First: after finishing the start-up portion and finally seeing sunlight, the whole scenery felt like the start of Elden Ring.
It was so similar I was even expecting the carnage to begin with the first enemy encounter (Carbot Animations "So I tried Elden Ring" - the first video of their parody series on YT - watch it, it's fun!).
Second: about 6 hours into the game I started wondering why I'm not leveling up. It's already been 5-6 ingame days, finished quite a few quests, slain a lot of enemies, I'm gaining XP and various bonuses, but I'm still at level 1.
Looked it up and it seems that I have to actually put my character to sleep in order to level up o_O !!
Well... I never did... that🤦Didn't expect it to be required, since there was no downside to staying awake, like in other games...
Much to learn about this game it seems ^_^
Alright, going back to it.
Have a fun weekend everyone!
Finished Split Fiction with my 11yo daughter (who is a way better gamer than I am - haha). We absolutely loved it so grabbed It Takes Two, which is on sale for $20 here in Australia and got an hour or so into that with her. Shaping up to be equally fun.
Sekiro. I've breezed through almost all bosses in this game - Mob, Ape, Lady Butterfly, Genicguro, etc. - but stuck at St. Ishin. I won't stop playing until I beat this baddie. The four part boss is exhausting. I've beaten pre-nerf Radhan in Elden Ring DLC (in under 10 hours) but this boss seem harder than him.
Also, I've ordered Expedition 33 after rave reviews and the fact I love JPRG like combat. I'll have a go at it in between Sekiro.
Update:
I am starting to wish that Hogwarts would get the TLOU-treatment and get a graphical upgrade that says goodbye to its PS3/PS4-era graphics. It is an okay game mired in technical limitations, and it sold like wildfire, so hopefully the sequel will ditch old hardware and be geared for an amazing and polished version of Hogwarts everyone deserves.
I think the next game should have a slightly younger character and a more Persona-esque structure (with more freedom) to how you go about your day learning magic. I know that it just Harry Potter-rehash, but it could work because Persona also takes that formula and nails it with a different cast every time. They could also change settings and leave Hogwarts for one of the other schools.
Well here we go with another awesome WAYP. The week was some cool games all around. Mostly Trails Through Daybreak, Mario and Luigi, Pirate Yakuza, WWE2K25, Dynasty Warriors Origins, Donkey Kong Country Returns HD, Xenoblade Chronicles X Definitive Edition, Atelier Yumia and Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Yeah I finally got to start Xenoblade and honestly it’s pretty awesome and yet at the same time I do see the issues with it for me as probably the weakest one. Most of the weekend was spent with nothing actually. Had the GF over and she unfortunately got a little sick so the weekend was taking care of her but it’s alright because she’s feeling slightly better now. Rest of the weekend I’m thinking is gonna be some Trails Through Daybreak and Monster Hunter Wilds. Trails I’m still trying to beat and so close with that too like legit finishing the last side quests. And Monster Hunter is still fun as always. Beat the main story last time so now it’s onto the High Rank Quests and those should be a lot of fun tho apparently way tougher then Low Rank. Otherwise I’m thinking this week is mostly gonna consist of some Trails Through Daybreak, Mario and Luigi Brothership, Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake, Tales of Graces F Remastered, Split Fiction, Donkey Kong Country Returns HD, Dynasty Warriors Origins, Monster Hunter Wilds, Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Disgaea 7, Atelier Yumia and Pirate Yakuza. Also was able to snag a preorder of a Switch 2 no Mario Kart Bundle as well as all the amiibos minus Yunobo so I’m overall just pretty happy about that. Waiting on a copy of Fatal Fury City of the Wolves to come in too so I can get nice and chewing on a awesome fighting game that even showed up at WrestleMania. Also like most got Clair Obscur Expedition 33 after FFCOTW as well. The wrestling thing this week being WrestleMania 41 weekend and stuff. Yeah it was last week but it was actually the reason I didn’t do a WAYP last week as the GF stayed over a extra day and watched the while thing which was touching. All around a great time really. From SMACKDOWN to the Hall of Fame to Stand and Deliver to both nights of Mania it was just awesome. My two favorite matches easily were the triple threat of Roman, Punk, Rollins with the Paul Heyman Twist and probably the Women's Tag Team Match with the return of Becky Lynch. Anime of the week gotta go to Okitsura. Still trying to work on the catch up so we can start spring animes but it’s really just been all wrestling. Podcasts of this week gotta go to Castle Superbeast, Big Think Dimension, Into The Aether, RPGsites Tetracast, Minnmax, Jeff Gerstmann, Kit and Krysta, Punching Up, Easy Allies, Second Wind, Nextlander, Cultaholic Wrestling, Weapon Wheel Podcast and Remap Radio. As always yall stay safe, be awesome to each other. Have a totally safe and cool weekend and of course Happy Gaming.
