Suicide Squad Warner Bros

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League has been a disaster of unprecedented proportions for publisher Warner Bros, and the company's latest financial report reveals that the ill-fated release is still doing damage.

The company suffered a sharp 48% decrease in games revenue over the first quarter of 2025. Of course, it didn't actually launch any new titles in that time, but at least in part, that's down to the ongoing ramifications of Suicide Squad's colossal underperformance.

Indeed, so much money was pumped into the project — released back in February of last year — that its eventual failure impacted the development pipelines of Warner Bros' other games.

Numerous projects were cancelled off the back of the Suicide Squad disaster, including Wonder Woman, and Monolith — the studio behind Middle-earth: Shadow of War — was closed. MultiVersus' steady demise certainly didn't help the situation either.

As such, the publisher has once again noted the title's lacking sales as a key factor in these fresh financial declines. We're left wondering when Warner Bros will actually be able to write up a report without mentioning Suicide Squad.
