Alien: Rogue Incursion is a solid PSVR2 action horror title, telling an original story in the beloved sci-fi universe. In an effort to put the game in front of more people, developer Survios has announced Alien: Rogue Incursion Evolved Edition, which is a regular, non-VR PS5 version of the game.
Details are thin on the ground at the moment, but what we currently know about Evolved Edition is that it's a reimagined rendition of the game that you can play on your TV, no VR gear required.
On top of that, it will feature "even deadlier Xenomorphs and enhanced visuals", according to a press release.

Standard and Digital Deluxe editions will be available when the game launches on 30th September, 2025, costing $29.99 and $39.99 respectively. You can wishlist it now on PS Store.
"As a team that truly loves Alien, we’re incredibly proud of the immersive original story we’ve told with Alien: Rogue Incursion," says TQ Jefferson, chief product officer at Survios. "Following our great start on VR platforms, we’re excited to bring the Evolved Edition to PC and PS5 later this year so that fans of Alien can experience Zula’s journey wherever they prefer to play."
The full title of the game, by the way, is Alien: Rogue Incursion - Part One: Evolved Edition, suggesting a Part Two is also on the way.
Our review of the original PSVR2 version concluded that it's a "solid first attempt from Survios to capture the iconic sci-fi franchise", praising its use of virtual reality for some great moments.
Whether those moments will translate nicely to the non-VR Evolved Edition remains to be seen.

I'll take any Alien game at this point 🥹 And this one doesn't look half bad
This is actually good news for me. Not a fan of VR, but was really interested in this game. Will definitely check it out.
Good to hear! I wanted to play this game but not for the price of a VR headset. Considering it'll be $30 when it releases I'll likely give it a shot. I've enjoyed most of the Aliens games that have come out and this looks pretty good.
Great news. Love Alien and did want to play this but VR just makes me feel physically unwell so very happy to hear the VR elements have been dropped.
I don't think i'd want to play that in VR, i'd just curl up in a vent like Newt and wait to be saved. lol
It’s more than solid. It’s one of the best games for psvr2.
If you own the vr version do you get a discount or maybe free
This is a case of a game that is basically average but immersive and really fun in VR that really wouldnt translate well to flat screen, as your stripping away the only USP that differentiates it from every average FPS out there. I had great fun with Incursion in VR but without that sense of being there, I doubt i'd enjoy it. Similar to Half Life Alyx in that regard... Alyx is a slow, plodding, walking sim at heart with average combat BUT when you combine the setting, story and level design in VR, it elevates the entire experience ... I tried Alyx flatscreen and its not a good game at all. Things that are creepy/scary in Alyx VR just dont come across the same in the flatscreen version.
@QwarktasticLombax That's why I've been passing on VR too. I played an ultra realistic mode on Wildlands not too long and had to tap out. It was modded into first person and looked amazing but it gave me motion sickness.
I might try this version of Incursion instead.
@lazarus11 this is what I'm hoping for. I haven't bought it yet, still waiting for any final patches for PCVR or Quest 3. I'd like to buy it where both versions are playable.
@GirlVersusGame I'm sure you've tried everything at this point but just in case - what really got me hooked on VR/mods etc was snap turning as any motion sickness I had previously (and it was bad!) completely disappeared. I've made it through Asgaards Wrath 2, Batman Arkham Shadow and mods for Alien Isolation and Ready or Not with no motion sickness at all. Locomotion is still smooth but that turning changed everything.
I feel like I was the only person who liked Alien fireteam elite ...
Looks amazing, but... Part One ?
I was hoping for more flat screen games to be converted to VR not the other way round.
@SMJ I think we just have to accept that VR on PlayStation is a failure at this point.
Developing a VR game must be a hard decision to make considering the limited audience. More games should work without VR, regardless of the immersion.
@Oram77 I liked it a lot as well. Especially on the hardest difficulty setting. Had an absolute blast playing with a full squad and trying to figure out what loadouts worked and what didn’t for each stage. 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
If it's anything like Alien Isolation, definitely will be getting it
Physical Edition Please, I have all your physical games on PS4.
@FredBiletnikoff Not sure that this is the correct interpretation. I would rather say, there are 70M PS5s in the wild and maybe 2M PS5+PSVR2, and a VR developer who also offers flat versions of their games has a good chance to significantly increase the revenue, provided the non-VR version is competitive enough in that market.
At the moment the majority of the VR developers search the revenue
Not interested in playing it in VR but definitely am intreasted now that I can play it like a normal game
wait wait wait! is it means we can play it without VR!?
