@get2sammyb "There's just not a very big market for racing games anymore."

Having bought every NFS on PlayStation except High Stakes and Porsche Unleashed... having a high percentage of the racing community that buys your games feel let down in some fashion on every game for a decade... it doesn't generally lead to increased sales

watching the increasing trend of requiring a wheel to be competitive (online and off). uh, no. the PS4 controller is the DS4 - not the G29. if a developer (Kunos Simulazione/SMS anyone) can't get their game to work well with the default DS4 (Polyphony & Codemasters can) which despite hardcore fan wishes is what most people use...... it doesn't generally lead to increased sales.
Wheels are great for those who want them, but make sure your game works well without one.

The fact that many series from the PS2 era (MotoGP/MX vs ATV) don't look or perform as if they're two console generations removed... it doesn't generally lead to increased sales.

The racing developers continually shoot them selves in the foot. I can imagine the outcry if people playing COD/Battlefield/Fortnite were forced to buy a gun accessory to be competitive.

@KingdomHeartsFan on PS3? I'd say just get GT6. But Grid 2 was okay. On PS4? Just get GT Sport but some like Assetto Corsa or Project CARS 2 - I thought they were both crappy with a DS4.

The PS4 has lots of arcade racers. None of them are very good. My top 5 racers (in no order): Driveclub, GT Sport, Dirt 4, F1 17 and WRC 7.

Is TM Turbo a racer? Seems more like a time trial. Like saying Trials Fusion is a racer. Onrush would benefit from a standard race mode. Until then I'll stay away. Also why isn't GTA5 listed. Lots of people like the races online tho I think there is no sense of speed even with the fast cars.

NFS has gradually made themselves obsolete and stand by the fact that of the Blackbox/SMS/Criterion PS3 games, Blackbox were the better choice. Ghost PS4 Games have not rekindled my NFS.

My PS4 collection comprises 136 games, 46 of those from PS+, 10 are physical discs and 4 of those replaced with digital. All the rest are digital. My digital penetration stands at over 92%. And we are always buying only a 'licence' to use media back to the days before records. It's just they can track it now. Nothing else has changed. Also my newest is my first pre-order... Ace Combat 7

Rare that the PS3 lineup is stronger than the PS4 lineup but there you go. Portal Knights and Fallen Legions have no interest for me and I eagerly played the Steep beta for roughly 10 minutes before stopping and deleting. I hated it. So a soft PS+ start for me.

@SoulChimera. In GTSport with no online you can race in arcade and maybe time trial on the initial tracks with a selection of around 10 cars. You cannot race in GTLeague or Sport, use your garage, car settings, photo mode, or scapes. You cannot save progress. It's virtually useless currently without internet and PS+

Re: PS Store Now Allows You to Change Region in Europe

Another thing that changed recently is that the store cart now syncs between my PC and my mobile and presumably the PS4 too though my PS4 isn't connected to check. It never used to do that and was so frustrating when adding & removing stuff. Go Sony!

Given the idea of ps+ is to entice ppl to buy dlc, if they support it right a ps+ release of the base game may have a chance to entice ppl to play. But as stated, they have a lot of competition to contend with now that they didn't before. If they expect ppl to buy the game AND dlc I think only the fanboys and the mildly curious will bite. This game proves the adage "timing is everything". While the early bird gets the worm, often it's the second mouse that gets the cheese.

@DLB3 Publishing articles like this is why conspiracy theories persist. "Journalists" (term used loosely) perpetuate the idea that because there are multiple viewpoints each are equally valid. They often are not. Sadly this will continue as long as "journalists" continue to promote 'talking points' and "fair balanced discussion of" in liu of actual journalism. It's is not confined to gamers.

Re: Soapbox: Can You Truly Appreciate a Game with Walkthroughs?

I'm a crappy gamer on my best days and have used walkthroughs throughout except racing games. A particularly useful one was for PS2 ICO as one of the puzzles was different in NA version vs. Europe. Now though with modern life/time constraints I graduated from walkthroughs to playthroughs on YT and am happy I get the story whereas if I played I usually get less than 50% through before giving up.
