Perhaps one of our favourite announcements of last night's Game Awards was for Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled, a long-rumoured and much requested remake that we're happy to see is on the way. The debut trailer for the kart racer looks wonderful, and the fresh coat of paint continues to shine through in a small batch of screenshots.
It looks like developer Beenox has taken the assets and artistic design of Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy and built on it to create its polished up version of the beloved racing game. The result is impressive, and it looks as though there's a keen attention to detail to ensure it's a faithful recreation. This is clearer to see in the below comparison shots:
As with Activision's other retro re-skins, the stages themselves appear to be like for like with the original, but are layered upon with a massively improved level of detail that breathe new life into the game.

so I guess the fact that yet another playstation exclusive character is in smash bros. is just being hushed up on this site? i haven't seen it being mentioned anywhere. but this should be relevant news for playstation fans, shouldn't it?
@manu0 probably because it's not that big a deal, these are Atlus's characters and Joker has only been in one game, not to mention the Shin Megami Tensai series has been on Nintendo handhelds for quite some time, whilst Final Fantasy has shifted between platforms over the years
So what's Vicarious Visions doing? I thought they were doing this.
@carlos82 from what i've seen from persona fans (which are obviously almost all on playstation) it seems to be a very big deal for them.
@manu0 I'm a Persona fan and loved number 5 but it doesn't bother me that he's paid DLC for Smash, if anything I was disappointed that this was Nintendo's big announcement at the show

Oh man, the game looks so good. I love CTR to bits growing up, so I'm more than excited.
I'm glad it's a different team doing it. It shouldn't be that hard to get right (and they seem to be on the right track), and it frees up VV to hopefully work on a new Crash game.

@manu0 They can either buy Smash and the DLC, or they can be adults and not get devastated over their exclusive character appearing in another game. This kind of outrage makes no logical sense.
@manu0 Pretty sure they didnt write about cloud from ff7 going to the last smash either. But why would they? Just because Persona 5 is a Playstation exclusive, that doesnt mean Push Square need to cover joker going to smash. Its just a fun cameo from Atlus which has no impact on playstation gamers.
This is a playstation focussed website. If PS's audience cant play smash, why would they write about the title? There are plenty of multiplatform sites that are covering ithe announcement 🤷♂️ i dunno, it just doesnt seem like a big deal. If the story was that future persona games are exclusive to switch, THAT would be news ps would be obliged to report.
On the plus side, if Joker gets an amiibo i am so buying it!!

The original is probably my most played game ever, I would've platinumed it 10 times over. I spent ridiculous hours playing this with a friend, we were equally skilled so it was always a blast. Cannot wait.
