Re: The Texas Chain Saw Massacre Gets a Gruesome New Trailer, Release Window, Now Coming to PS4

The graphics look really nice and it’ll definitely appeal to fans of asymmetrical multiplayer games.

It seems like most people that comment on this site don’t like multiplayer games and like to vocalise that on every post. I get it, you prefer single player games, why ***** on games that don’t appeal to you though?

I’d play this, it’s one of those multiplayer games that’s good fun to play with friends.

Re: PS Store Indies Sale Offers Discounts on Over a Thousand PS5, PS4 Games

Breekhead

@Ajfennell77 I’m a bit biased coz I’m a huge Bloober Team fan, but I ended up buying a PS5 just so I could play The Medium. The graphics are gorgeous, the atmosphere is so freaking cool with a soundtrack that’s equally amazing and creates a lot of tension.

There isn’t a lot of action and you’ll mostly be solving puzzles, doing a bit of sneaking and running while unraveling the story and admiring the beautifully crafted world. The split screen puzzle solving is a neat mechanic and there’s some genuine creepy stuff in there. The monster will have you shuddering with the insanely creepy ***** he says and you’ll get a few fantastic jump scares in there too.

We’ll worth the price IMO, and (like the previous comment) if you have enjoyed any of their other games you’ll love this one too.

9, impressive score but not surprising. It also seems to be the number of ads that appear on the page.

I understand that including advertising on your blog brings in money and I’m fine with that, we all need to make a living. But it’s gotten a bit ridiculous, I’m scrolling and waiting for the screenshots to load only to discover it’s another ad. I mean 1 video, 2 images and 9 ads…

Re: Sifu Dev Confirms Free Content Updates Coming Soon

@doctommaso @jeevz I enjoy the difficulty and they’ve clearly put a lot of time and love into crafting the combat so mastering it makes you feel like a king fu master. It’s really fun and rewarding. However complaining about the idea of accessibility options is rather ignorant as you’re not even considering gamers with disabilities who are already at a disadvantage and should be allowed to enjoy the same type of games without taking away from your enjoyment. More options means more people can enjoy it, surely that’s not a bad thing.

Re: Crysis Remastered Trilogy Hooks 15th October Release Date

@viktorcode Hunt: Showdown might be a bit more niche but has an incredibly loyal fan base. It’s an amazing game and world they’ve built and much more interesting than it appears at first glance, also a very unique kind of shooter (I don’t know of any other game that plays quite like it).

Re: Two New PS Store Sales Contain Over 1,500 PS5, PS4 Game Deals

@andreoni79 The Long Dark is excellent! The campaign is great but survival mode is where the game really shines. So many ways to die, you can look inside almost anything to search for loot, you never know what’s going to happen. It keeps you on your toes, a great survival game for sure!

Re: Mortal Shell DLC The Virtuous Cycle Is a Roguelike, Out 18th August

Breekhead

@Shepherd_Tallon To offer an alternative opinion, I’m a huge fan of souls-like games and absolutely loved Mortal Shell. It probably won’t be a popular opinion but I liked it more than Dark Souls tbh. It’s smaller and more contained but that’s part of its charm. It’s “clunky” only in a way that forces you to really time your attacks. The combat is slower in general (unless you’re playing with Tiel, the faster shell) but felt more immersive because of that. The environments were probably one of my favorite things about the game. It’s heavy on the atmosphere and the addition of a metal soundtrack when you fight bosses makes you feel like a real badass.

Re: Mini Review: Buildings Have Feelings Too (PS4) - A Management Game Lacking Solid Foundations

Breekhead

@thedevilsjester Of course, I’m not disagreeing with that. In fact I play a bunch of games that aren’t particularly reinventing the wheel but are super fun.

I guess it’s just I’m sometimes confused by the wide range of scores sometimes and feel sorry for the developers that come out with beautiful unique things like this and get basically a failed rating.

And I get that different games appeal to different people but it’s sometimes difficult to gauge what might appeal to you depending on the reviewer. Does each reviewer on Pushsquare cover a different genre or is it random what game they might review.

For example DayZ got a measly 2 out of 10 while Zombie Army 4 gets 8.. is this the reviewer’s bias or is it a fair reflection and comparison of each game? They’re both zombie games (which I love), DayZ is full of bugs but is so immersive that I keep playing it and enjoying the experience. I played 20 minutes of Zombie Army 4 and deleted it, it was boring as hell and the movement felt bad, like I was playing a PS1 game. But that’s just me.

The point is even though I really didn’t like a game like Zombie Army 4 I wouldn’t piss on it by giving it a 2 or even a 4... that would be reserved only for a game that basically didn’t work or was like a bad knockoff mobile game.

Re: Anticipated Multiplayer Survival Game Rust Launches 21st May on PS4

Breekhead

I’m definitely getting this!! Just recently picked it up on Steam and it’s a blast, no controller support though so the PS version is gonna be even better for me.

I was hoping it was gonna be slightly cheaper so I’ll wait for the first sale. It’s crazy how wildly different the pricing can be between Steam and PS4.

Re: Trophy Hunters Rejoice! Ratalaika Has Arrived on PS5

Breekhead

I think it’s pretty harsh to rag on Ratalaika Games as being cheap throwaway titles. Sure not every game will appeal to everyone, but there are some genuinely fun titles.

I think it’s really great that they help really small indie teams port their games to console, I can only imagine how exciting that must be for them!

Go on and support some of these guys! They need it!

Re: Long-Awaited Online Survival Game Rust Delayed into 2021 on PS4

Breekhead

@Number09 Sons of the Forest will definitely be a day one purchase! I actually just reinstalled The Long Dark. I’m terrible at it and usually die within the first few days but it’s a lot of fun.. especially looting all the cabins. The only one I haven’t started yet is Subnautica but it’s in the backlog.

If you haven’t played Stranded Deep I would recommend it as well.

Re: Final PS Store Sale Before PS5 Has Some Noteworthy PS4 Bargains

Breekhead

@GamingFiend Tell me about it! I think I’ve only bought 3 games full price. 😂 Moonlighted is a good one, I got it on a sale for my girlfriend and she’s obsessed with it! I occasional help with the odd boss fight but it’s a really great mix of dungeon crawler and management sim. So many good indies on sale at the moment! Enjoy 👍

Re: Days Gone Gets Huge 25GB Update Ahead of PS5

Breekhead

@Col_McCafferty Totally agree that there was a lot of depth to the characters and I loved the relationship between Deacon and Boozer! Sure the characters were a bit rough around the edges but intentionally so, they’re bikers and survivors in a post-apocalyptic world. I think what sells the characters and makes them believable (even when they don’t have much to say) is the fantastic acting from a great cast of actors.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 332

Breekhead

@Stevenfins I’m at the end of disc 3 and it’s gotten really tricky, I can’t imagine how hard disc 4 is gonna be. At the moment I’m enjoying playing it in short bursts and when it gets a little frustrating I play something else. It’s a blast for a pick up and play for a few minutes.

I’ve got a few on rotation for shorter play sessions. The Long Dark is super fun to try survive and make some progress until I’ve managed to get to a nice save spot. And then Darkwood for those moments when I want to freak myself out. I can’t play for more than a 30 minute session (in the day) coz I’m too much of a wimp.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 332

Breekhead

I’ve just recently discovered Hotline Miami 2 and after dying a million times in the first level I’ve started to get the hang of it and make some progress. It’s a real challenge but that’s what makes completing a level such a high.

On a side note, I got onto this game after being addicted to Ape Out over the last week. I got it on Steam but played it with the DualShock. Hopefully this gem comes to PS4 soon.
