Re: 'Terrible' Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 European Sales Are a Devastating 63% Below Battlefield 6

Bionic-Spencer

Too big to fail… Well, this is just another game that has been bitten by the Xbox bug. The game has been devalued because of Gamepass for sure, I always think that the games released on the service from Microsoft always lacks the quality of games that are not on the service. Thee have been games that have bucked that trend, but they are usually from independent developers that have something that is missing from a vast majority of the consolidated side of the industry, Passion! Expedition 33 and Lies of P were both games that showed real quality on Gamepass, but it sold exceptionally outside of that too because of the quality to both titles. COD is just same old same every year and I haven’t bought an entry in years now. Although I am not the biggest FPS fan, watching Battlefield 6 videos and hearing about it from gamer friends, it would have likely been the title I played if I had to pick one. Microsoft should definitely hold back next year and try to release something a hellova lot better than this, because if they think sales figures are bad this time out, imagine what GTA6 will do to it. Maybe the ‘it’s too big to fail’ statement should be the next slogan used by Xbox officially..

Re: Street Fighter 6's Sales Hit Another Noteworthy Milestone

Bionic-Spencer

I miss the days when Capcom had a plethora of fighting games on the market, Capcom Vs and Rival Schools being some of my favourites, but the one series I would love to see make a comeback would be DarkStalkers!! The second game in the series is still one of my most favourite fighting games and I would love to see the characters get updated in the RE Engine! It would not effect Street Fighter too much in way of cannibalising sales, there are enough unique characters to allow for both to flourish I’m sure! Just keep BB Hood away from the game and I’d be super happy!! 😆

Re: Call of Duty Continues to Handle PS5 Trophies in the Worst Way Possible

Bionic-Spencer

I’m really not the biggest COD fan, last game I played in the series was Black Ops 3 and that was really because of the awesome Zombie Maps, but I think the way the Platinum Trophy (or lack of) is being handled is not good for the majority of players that like unlocking completions with a Platinum. People I know who are trophy hunters tend to play the PS4 versions of these games nowadays as that has been a way to get a platinum at the end of their sessions and I can imagine that most of them will go for the PS4 version again.

Re: Monster Hunter Wilds Doing So Badly That's It's Been Outsold by MH Rise, Devil May Cry 5

Bionic-Spencer

Monster Hunter Wilds was good for what it was, it released with enough content for its release and my own personal experience, it worked pretty well on the PS5. As soon as I got the platinum however, I stoped playing and I haven’t gone back. I probably would have if there had been new content with trophy support, but that’s just my way of gaming personally. Capcom definitely needs to upgrade the RE Engine for open world gaming and 100% work on making sure that when their games release, that they work well on all formats.

Re: Poll: Will You Be Buying Halo: Campaign Evolved on PS5?

Bionic-Spencer

If Microsoft would release this on a disc based format with the full game on it instead of a game key, I would likely buy it. It would be surreal to have this in my collection with a PlayStation 5 logo on the box. Sony really needs to step in and insist that any game releasing on Disc needs to have a full playable game that could 100% be done offline, It’s the bare minimum that we should have. The people that download this are either not fussed having discs all over the place or have a PS5 that doesn’t have a disc reader, but people that still wish to own games on disc shouldn’t be punished.

Re: Mark 10 Years of Fallout 4 with a PS5, PS4 Re-Release Next Month

Bionic-Spencer

It would make for a really nice collectable if Microsoft were to allow for a proper anniversary edition, with a steelbook, Artbook and maybe even a bobble head! However, I would expect we will be doing good to just have the game on the disc… (if there is even to be a physical, haven’t checked that yet).

Edit. Just read the article. Not even a physical to have bought…

Re: The Outer Worlds 2 (PS5) - Mechanically Fantastic RPG Struggles to Be Memorable

Bionic-Spencer

Even if this game had been a fabled 11/10 game in Phil Spencer’s word, I wouldn’t pick this game up for love nor money. Having 1.3G on a disc is completely unacceptable and is just Microsoft flexing control. I prefer to own my games on Disc and always purchase that way over downloading games. If servers allow for it in years to come, no one that ‘buys’ this game will even be able to download it. The E3 back in the day when Microsoft showed off Xbox One and basically tried to force DRM on everyone was a turning point. But wow, have Microsoft been sneaky in implementing control procedures that are reminiscent to those policy’s. Next they will say that it will be only one download per disc and we will be right back at the beginning of their decision process. That is something that wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest.. Until Microsoft starts to put their games onto disc fully, I won’t buy a single game from their studios moving forward.

Re: Xbox Boss Believes Sony's Strategy of Console Exclusives Is 'Antiquated'

Bionic-Spencer

I find this entertaining to read. This would never even be a subject from Microsoft if they hadn’t been smashed to pieces for 2 generations by Sony. They bought all those developers (and publishers) not to make themselves a multiplatform super publisher, but to take away games from gamers and control what we played. But it hasn’t worked out at all as the influx to Gamepass never materialises. Now they are having to use PlayStation as a way to make money back on their investments. If Microsoft had done what they said they were going to do in Leaked memos and had buried the PlayStation brand, this would never have been spouted. I have bought 2 games made by Microsoft developers myself, Sea of Thieves and Gears of War, but I honestly don’t plan on buying anything else. Their games just don’t appeal to me at all.

Re: Talking Point: PS6 In 2027 - How Do You Feel About Sony's Next-Gen Console?

Bionic-Spencer

I will definitely hold back from buying PS6 anywhere near launch. I imagine that the first year will have games releasing cross gen again. Maybe the release of PS6 will allow developers to push the PS5 a bit harder because it really hasn’t been a generation that has blown me away personally. I could even see myself waiting until the PS6 Pro inevitably releases before jumping into the next gen.

Re: Xbox Squandered Over $300 Million Putting Call of Duty in Game Pass

Bionic-Spencer

Me and my friends have been saying that Gamepass was the worst idea in gaming for years now and everything is really coming to pass with what we had spoken about. If it had been Sony pushing this as much as Microsoft without the same levels of Money, Sony would have been absolutely f-*^%d. I also think that the lack of coverage over at Pure Xbox about this is pretty poor, but I guess no one wants to keep reporting negativity because I don’t think Xbox fans can take much more..

Re: Halo: Combat Evolved Remake Could Be the Final Frontier for Xbox on PS5

Bionic-Spencer

I personally didn’t really like the halo franchise as a whole and stopped playing them after ODST, but out of the games I did play, the 3rd one was the one I liked the most. Probably the coop element was the best thing for me, playing that with friends back in the day was pretty brilliant! If and when a Halo jumps to PlayStation, I hope Microsoft ensure that the multiplayer works a bit better than Gears and Sea of Thieves. Those games servers leave a lot to be desired.

Re: Preview: PS5's Most Promising 2026 Shooter Pragmata Is Starting to Take Shape

Bionic-Spencer

I personally buy everything Capcom related, they are my most favourite developer so no matter what, this game was a 100% purchase regardless, but it is looking to be shaping up to be an absolutely fantastic title. Really loving the mechanics that have been implemented into it. Games look and style reminds me a little bit of Vanquish, so that is even more awesome for me personally! Can’t wait for this!!

Re: Poll: Did You Buy a PS1 at Launch?

Bionic-Spencer

I only bought into PlayStation gaming when Resident Evil 2 was released. I was a complete Sega fanboy and preferred beat em ups to anything else, so the Saturn ended up being my console of choice. Now, when I say I bought into it, I didn’t really as it was my sister that gave me her PlayStation that her ex left with her after they split up! That was a good break as far as I was concerned! 😂 ! I bought Resi 2 just because of the Capcom logo and that game changed my whole perspective moving forward. From that day I was a PlayStation player and I have had every console since!

Re: Rumour: Starfield PS5 to Take Flight Alongside New Expansion Next Year

Bionic-Spencer

With how gamers have been able to play the game for a couple of years and for those that haven’t, reading the negativity regarding Starfield, this is one game that Microsoft won’t be able to talk about huge sales figures. Definitely should have stayed on Xbox. It would have been a great seller if it had come out on PlayStation day and date, but now it seems like a bad idea. I put a lot of time into this game when it launched and me personally, I won’t be rebuying it. It was not the best game that had come out of Bethesda, not by a mile. I’ll hold off buying another Bethesda game until Fallout 5 hopefully arrives!

Re: Monster Hunter Wilds' Struggling Sales Drag Capcom Stock Price Through the Mud

Bionic-Spencer

I played this at launch and didn’t really see too many issues with the games performance on PlayStation 5. I thought it ran pretty good in fact. However, biggest issue I had was how easy the game turned out. I predominantly run for Platinum Trophies, so I had set myself the idea that this was going to take a lot of time. I had 600 hours sunk into Worlds and most of that was hunting Gold Crowns during the endgame. This game however was a walk in the park. I hardly needed to play with people either, doing a lot of the hunts on my own. That certainly isn’t what I have come to expect with MH games. Once the best weapons and armour were manufactured, there never felt any more need to farm for other things and the endgame dwindled away for me. I can’t see myself going back for any reason and unless there are some major work going on behind the scenes at Capcom with the, I assume Monster Hunter Wilds “Iceborne style update”, I probably won’t be back to this version of the game now. Capcom needs to address the lacking RE Engine for games like this, they need to focus on making it way easier to play with friends and there also needs to be the necessity of meeting other people to play together. Make it feel like we need to partner up with people, but don’t just make the monsters weapon sponges with one hit kills, make everything feel meaningful. I really do trust Capcom to do things right however, they make missteps and usually find a point of correction moving forward with a game, but 100% priority right now needs to be making this game run really well on PC, because if they can get Steam Users back on their side, things will be a lot easier moving forward.

Re: In Unsurprising News, Even More Xbox Ports Are Allegedly En Route to PS5

Bionic-Spencer

After playing Starfield at the time, I don’t think I would rebuy that for the PlayStations eventual release. I didn’t like the game at all in the end. So far, the only game I have bought into on PlayStation was Sea of Thieves. Horizon 5 is an awesome game for sure and I did like the look of Indiana Jones but I would really like to have the games completely on Disc, so I would definitely wait until sales before buying anything more from Microsoft.

Re: Romero Games Project Cancelled as Xbox Layoffs Continue to Cast Dark Shadow Over Industry

Bionic-Spencer

It’s going to be a long time before everything calms down. And to think Microsoft argued that they were going to bring stability to the games industry with their gigantic purchases of Activision and Bethesda. They just thought they would gain complete control of the industry and all these layoffs and pulling of funds is because they failed. It’s a real shame that so many folk are losing their livelihoods because of a greedy corporate company that thought they could steamroll in and make us all play games how they wanted.

Re: 'We're Not Looking to Put First-Party Games in PS Plus Day and Date': Sony Rejects Xbox Game Pass Model

Bionic-Spencer

@Lup ?? I know that there are great games released on the service but with Obscure 33, that released on PlayStation and sold brilliantly well even without a day one release on PSN .I didn’t say Gamepass was good though. I personally don’t like it at all. I buy my games physically when possible and digitally only if I have to. And as far as the topic of discussion goes, I’d far rather pay for a Sony game on day of release that is going to probably be very good as opposed to seeing how many first party games release on Xbox GamePass that aren’t really all that great.

Re: 'We're Not Looking to Put First-Party Games in Day and Date': PS Plus Rejects Xbox Game Pass Model

Bionic-Spencer

It always feels that first party games on Gamepass are shadows of the games they used to be by developers who are shadows of their former selves aswell. The quality of gamepass first party really isn’t as hot as people expect or argue, there is no incentive for the developers to pour their heart and souls into a game when it doesn’t even matter if it sells or not, so long as a few million people try it for 10 minutes…

Re: SEGA's Accidentally Outed Sales Numbers Put a Lot into Context

Bionic-Spencer

Square Enix are delusional.. maybe people just don’t like their games as much as they used to, but 3 million is actually a brilliant amount considering it was just a PS5 game for so long..

Anyway, on topic it really is great to see Sega post such great sales figures. I have been a fan of Sega since the Master System and the pain of watching the incredible Dreamcast die so soon when it was leagues ahead of its time was terrible!! I hope their numbers keep steady and secure them for years to come!
