Re: State of Play Confirmed for 2nd June, 60+ Minutes of Wolverine and PS5 Games

Bionic-Spencer

I’ll check it out, but I am way more interesting tosee what Capcom announces at the show. They usually have something of note for these kinds of Sony events, so all I would like to see is something about Devil May Cry (remake of 1 or a 6th entry, I am not fussed) and whatever they are doing on the resident evil front, perhaps a remake announcement of 5 or Code:Veronica! If any of that shows up, then this will be a perfect nights viewing!

Re: 'We're Not Standing Still': Returnal Director Forms New Studio to Make Games That Trust You

Bionic-Spencer

It’s a really weird pattern when you hear about new studios that were formed by people that had their studios bought out by both Sony and Microsoft. As soon as they are under the Umbrella of each corporation, they get out and probably with enough funds to safekeep them. Playground, Ninja Theory and now Housemarque all lost directors of note, with 2 of them now going on to set up new studios. I imagine there are way more aswell that have done the same.

Re: Xbox Fans Flock to Online Suggestions Box to Tell Microsoft to Keep Games Off PS5

Bionic-Spencer

I would not really be too upset if Microsoft removed all their games from PlayStation. Apart from the fact that Microsoft controls some major franchises thanks to just steamrolling in with a massive bag of money, the home grown games that Microsoft have made have not been of interest to me at all. I don’t particularly like Call of Duty anyway though, Bethesda is a mess with most games and everything else just doesn’t really grab my attention! I bought a PlayStation to play Sony exclusives and I would like to see Sony actually using some of their Dormant IPs. They would have more than enough to keep me happy and I definitely rate their games over Microsoft’s.

Re: PlayStation Shutting Something Else Down, But It's Not a Studio This Time

Bionic-Spencer

Sony are becoming the new EA. It would be wild if they could go a year without shutting something down at this point. I imagine Haven will be next and I wouldn’t be shocked if Bungie went under too, which is crazy to think.. As far as closures and loss of talent goes, it would be awesome if the guys that were at Bluepoint started up as a new company and got back to what worked best for them, remaking classics. Whether they would work with Sony after their recent dealings is another thing though..

Re: Dead Rising Franchise Still Alive as Capcom Considers Sequels, Remakes

Bionic-Spencer

Dead Rising going back to the time limit gameplay would be brilliant, I still think the first game is the best in the series, so something in line with that would be fantastic!! Devil May Cry is getting some really heavy rumours about a remake of the first game right now too, so that would be fantastic. Although I very much expect to see something about Dino Crisis at some point, I would personally like to see Darkstalkers making a comeback! It’s definitely one of Capcoms best fighting game series’ and with Street Fighter slowly updating with seasons, it would be great to see another fighter to come out in the middle of Street Fighters life span to bulk up the genre for Capcom!! Finally, I would love to see a sequel to the Bionic Commando from the 360/Ps3 era. I know it wasn’t to everyone’s taste, but building a sequel internally as opposed to being sourced and working up the story that was played with in the first game, I honestly think it would and could be absolutely amazing!!

Re: Xbox Is Flip-Flopping on PS5 Again, and It's Truly Getting Tiring

Bionic-Spencer

They have spent so much time telling everyone that their games will be available everywhere, to pull back now would be a bit insane. Not hardcore gamers, but casuals who don’t spend all their time checking out all these kinds of sites are not going to pay any attention to Microsoft’s messages and will only expect that they are going towards being a 3rd party developer. Apart from COD, Forza Horizon and Minecraft, which I feel would all stay Multiplatform, honestly I don’t feel like there is anything else that would turn heads really. One thing, if Microsoft revert to timed releases, that could be a messy situation too. Taking StarField, it came out a while back and garnered so much negativity that when it came to the PlayStation release, it pretty much failed miserably. At the time, Bethesda I think it was said that they were expecting to lose 6 million sales not releasing on PlayStation. They won’t be seeing sales like that now and that is why releasing games day and date on Xbox and PlayStation would help sales numbers as press won’t have a year to slate a game before it’s released again. On the flip side, if Microsoft went full exclusive, it may make Sony actually stop messing everyone about and actually try again, because this generation really has been a dogs mess…

Re: Post-Pragmata, Capcom Starts Hyping Up Onimusha's PS5 Revival

Bionic-Spencer

I love thinking back to how much Capcom has grown the last few years into arguably one of the best and most consistent publishers! The turning point was likely around Resident Evil 7, it’s just been an amazing ride! Guaranteed, Onimusha will be amazing, it just looks too good to not be. This year I also expect to see a big trailer on Okami 2, the 20th anniversary for the first game was on the 20th of this month and surely showing the sequel would be good way to celebrate the event!! Even better times ahead!

Re: This Pragmata PR Gift Might Be the Most Insane Press Kit We've Ever Seen

Bionic-Spencer

I hate seeing influencers’ get these kinds of things. Generally they don’t even care about these games, they just faff around on their social media accounts showing stuff off. A few weeks later, they put these things on EBay for the real fans to try and get them! I have a genuine love for Capcom and I would 100% love things like this in my own collection! And I definitely wouldn’t be selling them
Either!

Re: Rumour: Xbox Debating Whether to Make Its Games Exclusive Again

Bionic-Spencer

I honestly would not be bothered one way or another. The only 2 games I bought that were Microsoft games were Sea of Thieves and Gears of War. Although I am a huge Forza fan, I preferred the 4th entry, so I passed on the 5th. Everything else hasn’t appealed to me. I think that if they go back to exclusives, it won’t help them at all really. Bethesda seems incapable of releasing a working game so they won’t be a huge miss either. Microsoft are in a lose lose situation, they stop making games available to PlayStations, they will lose out on the money available to them. Keep releasing and they will devalue the Xbox brand until it’s no longer worth the effort releasing systems. The damage for them has been done.

Re: PS5 Price Hike Hits Japan Hard as PS5 Pro Sales Sink to Xbox Levels

Bionic-Spencer

Back in the day, Sony and all other manufacturers used to take a real hit on Console profits, selling them for a loss and making money back on sales of software. Sony could easily go back to that ethos, especially this late on in the generation. At worst, they could have kept the prices that they were at, it certainly would have kept sales at the levels they were at instead of crashing.

Re: Uncharted Fans Think a Social Post Is Evidence of New PS5 Entry

Bionic-Spencer

With how shallow the release pool for first party games have been from Sony this generation, for them to come out and announce a new game in the Uncharted series would be a huge move. I love the series. It was one of the primary reasons why I have bought Sonys consoles, it just was so awesome to play those games, so a new Uncharted for me would be the best news ever!! I would probably like Nate to feature in the game if it were a thing, but perhaps as an accompaniment in the same way as Sulley was in the games prior!

Re: Fastidiously Multiformat Square Enix Skips PS5 with Yet Another Game

Bionic-Spencer

Square Enix are just crazy! Don’t support one of the largest fan bases in gaming? Gotcha!! So much for the multiplatform releases… Personally I don’t really buy SE games anymore, they have lost their crown of being of the best RPG developers. Next they will get bought by Microsoft and say that it was the correct move to make..

Re: PS6 Rival Xbox Helix Could Cost as Much as $1,200

Bionic-Spencer

I won’t be upgrading to another console anytime soon, very happy with what I have and I hope Sony sees this too. I honestly don’t think a $1200 rival console would make them jump the gun to speak about PS6! PS5 has such a dominate attach rate that people buying into the console over the next year will surely be catered for by developers making games for the system for a few years yet.

Re: Opinion: I Wonder if Xbox Helix Will Force Sony to Break Its PS6 Silence

Bionic-Spencer

Sony are in too much of a commanding position, the don’t need to say a thing. Like Phil Spencer said, the Generation that Xbox needed to win was a couple back now and most gamers are set on the platform that they have invested heavily in as far as gaming library’s go. I couldn’t see anyone that has bought into PlayStation changing now so they won’t be bothered by a new Xbox console, especially on costing $1000 plus.

Re: 'They're Not Going to Delay PS6': Hardware Leaker Says 2027 Still Likely After Xbox Helix Reveal

Bionic-Spencer

I really don’t care when Sony finally releases a PS6, I am happy with my PS5 and finally feel like it’s actually getting games that feel current gen. Honestly, Sony could hold off for another few years and it still won’t make too much differences with sales or whatever. They have enough poeple that have invested in their digital library’s that a very small percentage would move to another platform, people will simply wait and as long as GTA6 and EAs football games are on PS5, people won’t be jumping off in droves.

Re: Opinion: If Sony's Doubling Down on Its Most Popular Franchises, Where's Uncharted?

Bionic-Spencer

I don’t know why Sony didn’t do more with this in the end.. Uncharted 4 sold gargantuan numbers, but as soon as Neil Druckmann got a hold of it, he goes by the philosophy of every game he touches has to feel like it’s the last one possible and it really put a hold on this franchise. Allowing a studio to do what it wants is one thing, but basically killing off a franchise when it’s still relevant is another. God of War and Uncharted are the 2 franchises which I would buy forever, I love them so much, but the magic got removed from Uncharted when Amy Hennig left (got forced out?) of Naughty Dog.

Re: 'The Plan's the Plan Until It's Not the Plan': Xbox All Over the Place on Future PS5 Ports

Bionic-Spencer

I’m sorry, but this is turning into a ***** show for Microsoft and quickly. Im sure Asha thinks she has all the power in the world, but Satya and the rest of the board of directors want the money that comes from selling on PlayStation and if her Bosses want to keep multiplatforming, she doesn’t have much say. They have created a culture in Xbox that their fan base wants everything for ‘free’, and the have devalued their brand for so long that I honesty can’t see much of a way back for them as far as selling consoles goes. Most Casual gamers won’t even realise that there is a new head of Xbox and they will continue to think that Xbox is dying no matter what is said next! What does she think will happen, release everything on PlayStation and then next generation completely stop and we all go flooding to Xbox because we can’t get any of their games here?? They have really missed the mark with COD, the only Halo anyone wants is the first one and after that’s out, what is next for that franchise, all their other big hitters really haven’t sold mega amounts on PlayStation. Forza Horizon is likely the main seller, but if Forza Horizon 7 is exclusive to Xbox again, how many are realistically going to go to Xbox just to play that? I personally have played 2 Xbox games, Sea of Thieves and Gears of War. Nothing else interested me enough to buy more. I definitely think Sony need to get their own house in shape and fast, because they have been beyond useless this generation with their own 1st party releases, but they can afford to be crap, Microsoft couldn’t.

Re: Incoming Xbox Boss Promises a 'Renewed Commitment to Console', But Will Still Publish on PS5

Bionic-Spencer

Although she is saying the things people want to hear, especially Xbox fans, it’s not like Satya Nadella is going to change anything moving forward, because no matter how someone says the things people want to hear, there is only one type of person that makes decisions and that is shareholders. With how well the pivot to Multiplatformer is going, I can see the console business clueing up and the 3rd party aspect dominating moving forward. I personally don’t see a new console from Microsoft.

Re: Sony Goes Silent on Social Media as Fans Turn Feral Following Bluepoint Closure

Bionic-Spencer

Get Herman Hulst in front of a camera and let him take pelters for a few hours. He has turned the whole of the first party contingent of Sony into an absolute disaster area. Spent Billions on failures, invested in live service slop and had the whole division fighting to make a hit and losing money hand over hand. I can’t believe that Sony higher ups aren’t taking a look at his stewardship and can’t see that he is causing them to lose not just cash, but reputation…

Re: A New Engine for The Elder Scrolls 6? Don't Be Ridiculous

Bionic-Spencer

Todd Howard.. I take what he says with a pinch of salt. I haven’t played a Bethesda game in a long while properly, only spending about 20 odd hours on StarField, but one thing is, character models and movement have basically stayed the same for absolute years now. I imagine that, although there may be a better look to Elder Scrolls 6 locations, everything else is just going to look about as good as it all does right now with their games. They need to upgrade properly.

Re: The Internet Has Not Been Kind to Horizon Hunters Gathering

Bionic-Spencer

The biggest thing Sony needs to take away from this is don’t use their established IPs to jump into Live Service gaming. And showing how bad people took to Concord, even new IPs will struggle. The problem for myself personally is I bought PlayStation solely based on my interest in single player games, with amazing stories. That’s why I don’t like the idea of GaaS games or anything of that line.

Re: PS5 Officially Outsells PS3, Now at 92.2 Million Units

Bionic-Spencer

Great numbers for sure. I hope that with the issues facing Sony when it comes to making a new console that they let the generation go on for a few more years, they really don’t have competition from Microsoft now, so there is zero need to even try to match their ambitions to get the next (probably insanely priced) Xbox to market. Let this generation simmer, allow for as many game to still get released and don’t worry about going cross generation like we had this time again. I don’t feel like this generation ever really got going. It still feels like it has at least 3 more years in it!

Re: Sony Finally Confirms Horizon Co-Op Game, Horizon Hunters Gathering for PS5, PC

Bionic-Spencer

Personally speaking, What a waste of resources, the studio head said, as soon as the video started, that they love making single player games and they will always do that, I mean holy crap that’s not how you start selling a game. It basically means, we have been forced to make this, but don’t worry because once we are done pushing this, as long as we are still a company, we will make what players really want. Herman Hulst seems to have forgotten what made Sony games so great once upon a time. This is exactly the game he would have green lit, or at least asked to be made personally..
